He routinely got 15-20 points and 8-10 assists each game, along with 2-3 steals for the better part of a decade. He made it look good, too.

KJ, Isiah, and Tim Hardaway in the 80s 90s were the most explosive 🧨 little men... From Archibald and Dennis Johnson those were the guys. Stockton and Cheeks and Sleepy Floyd were the other prototypes.... The pass first guys... The 18-8 or 15-11 guys .... The former were the 20-10 guys... Pretty much the best guys at the position to differing levels of team success

Tim Hardaway was my teammate at UTEP. There can be no argument he was an incredible player. But here’s something you may not know. Tim learned that incredible cross over from the actual starting point guard at UTEP named Jeep Jackson. Tim was the second point guard. I was the 3rd, but got redshirted from injury. imagine, Timmy was the back up point guard at UTEP. Tells you how good Jeep Jackson was. Even many pros don’t know or realize that cross over was indeed Jeep Jackson’s move. Again, UTEP’s starting point guard. Timmy’s college nick name was Bug and he was genuinely a NBA legend. But trust, Jeep Jackson was magic on the court. Type in Jeep Jackson and you’ll see who he was. Unfortunately, we lost him during a benefit game on Fort Bliss where he had a heart attack on court and passed away. Had he not, the first UTEP guard cross over the NBA fans would have seen was the original from Jeep Jackson.

Tim Hardaway actually did not invent the crossover dribble. The move was invented by Pearl Washington of Syracuse University. While at UTEP, Hardaway watched Washington lose a defender with the crossover dribble in an NCAA game. Hardaway liked the move, so he decided to practice the move until he perfected it. Magic Johnson was the first to recognize Hardaway using the move in the NBA. "It's called the crossover dribble. It's bang-bang and you're dead. It's a lethal move and Hardaway can unleash the move on anyone at anytime, and it cannot be stopped." -Magic Johnson, 1989 "If it had not been for Magic mentioning about me using the crossover dribble, no one would have noticed." -Tim Hardaway, 1990

Not a single one of those guys were over 6’2, although a few were listed as being taller (Starks, Francis). Several were 6’0 or under, and all were great. The NFL should have given Ward a shot at QB. He could have been an all-time great. #Salute
