Considering the fact that microtransactions can only be found in the Ultimate Team mode, this is the least EA like game EA has made. It’s funny how critical the review was of microtransactions, hope it’ll be consistent with how 2K19’s microtransactions are viewed
They are improving . 2k need competition. I don't like EA but NBA 2k need competition. Last good NBA 2k is 2k11. Now Imagining some dev make a wrestling game to compete with WWE 2k series.
It isn't for everyone, but I find Fire Pro to be far more fun than those glitchy ass WWE 2k games, and you can have an unlimited roster which is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.
Yes sir franchises mode needs depth and in game injuries need to be added otoh live plays very realistic If you play ball in real life you know live spot on
You can edit players including ratings. You just have to do it before you start your franchise. You can't edit ratings once you start, but you can before.
This was a better review than IGN. I feel like the reviewer has played Live 19 must longer than the one on IGN. I found it interesting how IGN said Live 19 didnt have a good presentation & Gamespot says otherwise
I agreed with everything except for LUT. If you played LIVE 18, you’d appreciate how this year’s LUT is. No more buying contracts, the pack prices have been lowered significantly, all packs include Misc items, and more challenges than last year which means MORE COINS to beef up the market. Tell the whole story in your review, next time.
I don't have time for bball games right now. PES, Spiderman and Tomb Raider are going to take my time and then there's going to be RDR 2. But if I wanted a basketball game I would buy Live over 2K. 2K is a cashgrab of a game that has staled for years without the team even trying to improve. Instead they have just implemented more and more ways to drain people from their money via microtransactions. Therefore I refuse to buy 2K even though I played it every year for over a decade before refusing to buy 2K18.

I can't argue with the complaints about the commentary or franchise mode, but to me it's a more fun game than 2k. Hell, the parks alone justify the $40 pre-order for me. I'd give it an 8, maybe 8.2ish or something like that, just because of the few areas that were clearly neglected. On the court it's a really good game though.
I preordered 18 last year, but if I decide to eventually get this, I'll wait for black friday to get this for about $10. The severe lack of franchise mode improvements scared me off for now. This is not a $65 game, not when it's competitor is vastly superior.
I know that. I got the preorder offer for it in the live 18 menu. To me, the game isn't worth $40, and definitely not the $65 they are charging for this. Anyway, they'll be trying to give this game away by black friday, so by then it'll be in the $10-20-ish range where I feel is a fair price for it...
I like live but its shouldn't be 60 bucks. With the inflation of game prices Ea would do better with selling the game for 39.99 or 44.99, I just don't see how marketing it at full retail game price is logical.
EA sells Live 19 at $60 without any need for microtransactions, other than in the ultimate team mode. I don’t play that mode so I haven’y encountered any microtransaction yet. NBA 2K19 sells a game for $60-100 and promotes microtransactions at every turn like it was some sort of free to play game

i just played this game. i think EA must free the game for week, so they will know that Nba Live 19 so lit this year. especially for The One. More realistic career mode than 2k

It's main problem is that it's a streetball arcade game, with a little bit of nba mixed in. That should be reversed. The ea devs in interviews to me obviously wanted to hide/avoid the lack of franchise improvements. It's clear to me that they don't care what people want.
You clearly haven’t played the game the only thing you can spend real world money on is Ultimate Team you actually have to play the game to make your player good
That's how business works. They sell a product for a huge absurd price, then they have those fake 50%~70% percent discounts. It gives an impression now that the product is very cheap and worth the price. In EA's case, the micro transaction abuse was so ridiculous. They took some micro transactions out in this game but there are still micro transactions in it. But some people think it's ok now. They are falling for their schemes.
SuperAvocado lol seriously have any of you played live? There are no microtransactions the only thing you pay for is Ultimate Team same as the NBA Live on your phone. Nobody forces you to buy shit so how is it a scheme?
even though nba 2k19 is better than nba live 19. i will buy this game because 2k is just the same as last year..... and i will buy this for a change........ nba 2k really needs competition because they become complacent and over confident on improving the game
I agree. This shit is insane. Can't use legends in franchise, can't draft them, trades. Can't even use them in play now. This is ridiculouls. All things you can do in 2k without all of the unnecessary LUT and packs bs. I don't play online, I'm strictly franchise. I want to root for live and complained about these missing aspects when I had live 18.
And how about the fact that 2K allows you to customize franchise mode by allowing you to add classic teams to franchise mode and switch current teams from different conferences and divisions or take teams out of the league all together and has League expansion for franchise mode that actually allows you to create your own team and even choose what city your team is from and even allows you to customize your team's Arena and relocate your team whenever you feel like you want to move your team to a different city and state
Been playing it all week much better than 2k. 2k been the same bullshit for the last 2 or 3 yrs. Not paying my money just to play last years same ol bullshit
No player editing again! Despite ea knowing they pissed off people to the point last year where they patched in a basic editor late in the nba season. It's like they don't listen to their fans at all. And one of the few things live had over 2k is the lack of microtransactions, but they are already screwing that up, and charging full price for an inferior game.
This review was not very helpful. Comparing Live to Madden or Fifa modes/features is not a useful comparison. The comparison everyone's looking for is to 2K19, and this review provided none of that. How does Live's The One compare to MyCareer? How does Live's Franchise mode compare to 2K's Franchise mode? Those are the answers I was hoping for.
Jaerb4 Live 19 does the bare minimum when it comes to franchise mode, it’s the game’s biggest weakness. I think they’re targeting the market who got pissed off at the mycareer mode. What with the reese’s puffs, b-fresh, and having to play as a DJ
I guess the finished product is vastly different from the Demo, because nothing of what he said about gameplay, graphics or fun playing the game, translates to the absolutely putrid demo on the store...
Gameplay is better than last year. Its more of a casual basketball game. Which isnt a bad thing its different from 2k which is a good thing. I might buy this just because 2k is getting stale imo.
Best game ever on the mobile version but why can't you earn stamina to continue play anymore? I've been playing the mobile version since it started so keep it real and keep it playable via mobile....no one is gonna buy stamina to play that game.... C'MON!!!!!!
Live 19 is better than 2k 19 .2k has catered towards children instead of basketball fans .the cut scenes killed it for me ,story mode is horrible and a money grab at least e.a didn't shit on fans by charging for everything vs e.a making it easy to upgrade your player ,court and buying gear .
There is just nothing in Live19 to keep you coming back wanting to play it i got 2k19 last night played it and can't wait to get home to play it again Live don't do that it's a boring game to really be honest.
I love NBA LIVE but somebody tell me way!!! This shit hit me with a blue screen every time I finish my first season in. I mean I grind on this shit heavy I did this twice the first time it happened I thought nothing of it then it happened again and now I'm at a point where I can barely even look at this game dude this shit is so annoying like I think that I might be the only one going though this shit I'm am literally confused cause NBA LIVE 18 no issues but now in NBA LIVE 19 the one Edition I can't bruh they kick me out the game after my first season error code.
