I think I recall this game had 1 on 1, 2 on 2, and 3 on 3 modes playing basketball 🏀 outdoors at parks or Venice Beach ⛱ playing half court or full court games.

Back in the day, I felt like that the NBA live 2004 was a downgrade. The graphics of 2003 is incredible and fun.

Nah 2004 definitely was better, it had the pro stick dribbling better contact animations so you couldn’t just dunk at will live 04 was better then 03

Yes, and also the gameplay and mechanics went down, the players shot and dribbles weird, and for some reason couldn't jump as high, esp on defense. 03 was my fav!

It was .. 03 was the best nba live ever n my opinion.. best years for jerseys too .. all star game still had home jerseys vs away .. soundtrack was classic .. and this was around the time we were all playing street nfl/nba .. good times .. I was like 8 when this dropped .. I lost my original ps2 at Philadelphia airport coming home from Puerto Rico .. my pop bought me a new ps2 with this and a couple other games .. super nostalgic.. I can’t believe this was almost 20 years ago .. I’m 26 now .. my son sitting with me playing 2k22 as I type this .. I remember playing this with my cousin bubby who is no longer with us .. RIP BUBB

@@rece5232 04 was more technical.. but as a kid 03 was more fun to play .. 04 was cool but I went to 2k directly after this .. Ben Wallace cover 2k4 after that I discovered the first 2k on Dreamcast A.I cover .. and I was all 2k from there .. this was legit that last live I enjoyed until like 07 came out

Man, the memories! I was at GameStop with my dad as a child, begging him to buy me a game... He said I could if I found one for a dollar. I spent the entire time there searching in the discount bin, and found this game at the bottom... for a dollar!!! Man he was dumbfounded. I must've spent hundreds of hours playing this game with my buddy in the summer, trying so hard to shoot a half court shot and missing every time. Thanks for uploading and letting me take a trip back in time!

Daaaaam aight man, I’m letting some tears out. I remember when I used to have this game for the Xbox original. I played so much nba live 03 for hours. I loved it, I remember playing ball and going home and getting on this. 😭 also I’m 27 now and still hear the songs in my head from the game. Soundtrack was fire 🔥

Because basketball back then was more intense and not a fashion contest. They AI, Kobe, Jordan, and real men who were full of adrenaline and strength. Now you have dudes that just walk up and down the court with their hands on their hips because they tire easily and don’t want to break a sweat. They just want to score free throws and wide open shots. No intensity or competitive nature from players.

Is this weird....? As a kid me and my friend would create our players and put one of us in the East and one of us in the West on NBA Live 03 and play whole seasons and act out scenes as if we were outside of the game like interviews about the season, we would act like fights would break out at clubs between our created players! LMAO we were on some real story mode type shit. But naw fr this and NBA Live 08 will be some of the most memorable Live's. The soundtrack, the gameplay, the graphics (back in the day these graphics were good) and just the players at the time. Amazing game, great feeling coming back here with all you other people. Also really random... This whole soundtrack was amazing but hearing Brandy's - Full Moon on here really brings me back. They all kind of random hits on here. lol

Bro, my friend and I would make whole teams of random players, including some from the Backyard kids franchise (Dmitri Petrovich, Pete Wheeler, Pablo Sanchez, etc), and NBA Street players. Even createe our friends from school that we played ball with and adjusted the heights accordingly. Fun times!

Lol he’ll one time it was me and two of my peoples .. they were bros .. one was a Knicks fan the other was a bulls fan .. I believe this was 01. One bro created jordan and his pops .. the other bro joined me out west after 2 seasons of losing to him in the east lol .. we would do interviews and shit like his player got traded and what it meant to leave the east and possibly meet his bro in the finals finally 😂😂 good times

I recall back in the days when I played this on ps2 that there was a 1 on 1 mode playing outdoors at basketball courts near parks or Venice Beach ⛱. I also recall on that mode you can play half court or full court and also play 2 on 2, or 3 on 3 as well. I havent played the game in years and dont own it anymore. Is that true still? Also can you play 2 on 2 on nba live 2004 as well?

Gameplay wise this was the best nba live ever made overall for gameplay its a toss up between 2k5 and 2k7 both have amazing gameplay but good in their own ways. But overall 2k5 on xbox original imo is the best basketball game ever made

2002 was better because you could literally block any shot/score any play on this game. In NBA Live 2004 they tried to fix some of the arcade type play

I played it on the computer with a controller, but still one of the best if not THE best basketball game EVER! Awesome moves, nice graphics, awesome playlist...only thing: Jordan as a Wizard couldn't dunk at all...thank god there was the player editing and you had to give him 5 more points or so in order to get some in-game dunks with him. This was the only flaw of the game :)

There was a really horrible glitch that if you shot from full court and if the ball missed and still hit the net it would count as a 3.

Yeah I used to think it was hilarious when that happened back then. But they kind of made the game like an arcade style anyways so if you played games like nba jam, hang time or showtime back in the day then you get used to stuff like that. Still nba live 2003 will always be my favorite basketball game.
