D2 had a few collapses. Since then with the lack of schools and lack of an NCAA d2 tournament most players (myself included) don’t really see division 2 as an attractive option. I had the opportunity to play for stone hill and saint michaels and ultimately chose to go the ACHA route with Lindenwood as we got the chance to play NCAA D1 competition while also playing a large schedule and a full tournament ( nationals ). Sad that the ncaa does such a bad job at expanding hockey. Finances and title 9 are obviously two of the big reasons why hockey doesn’t have more programs but it still sucks that back in the 20th century more wasn’t done to expand and create more programs
