Yes , I have thought about this too. There he was ripping open the box after she cut the tape and he found a smaller box inside. He left it on his desk and went home. Am I to believe that already then the smaller box contained these strong items of romantic art ? What if he had opened it already then ? I have pondered upon the implications of that, and i think that the whole story could have taken a different turn.

@@knips63 I absolutely agree with you! Nevertheless I'm happy they even ended up in a relationship considering how long it took for them to get here. I got into NCIS: LA by stumbling upon Densi fan videos here on RU-vid and the first official kiss in season 4 got me so excited, it was almost unfortunate because we ended up having to wait 6 more years but 'the box' really made the wait worth it for me!

@@davidalanjonesridge9874 Of course it was but it's a superbly written, brilliantly directed and wonderfully acted script that will cause many viewers (myself included) to take a genuine interest in and care about the characters. That after all is the aim of all fictional writing, to create characters we can relate to and even care about. The various iterations of NCIS have done this several times extremely well, notably Tony and Ziva, Eric and Nell and of course Kensi and Deeks.

I bawled my eyes out 😢. The sweetest, most perfect thing to have been on the box.

Actually, Kensi popped the question to Deeks.

Not quite. as @@mpumelelovimbayo949 pointed out ... that box was in play in S4, before Densi was officially a thing. Kensi had the other key, and swapped that letter in MUCH later.

It made me teary eyed to so sweet . I also get teary eyed when during the wedding when Kensi says turns out you were right it is a love story the smile on Deeks face is is priceless.

Me neather. You know what I think? I think that she changed the contents of the box just some previous episodes before this one when they talk briefly about a box. Deeks literraly asked "What's in the box" and that reminded them both about their box. I think she had something like a letter and some other thing (can't imagine what), both equally beautiful but of course not as deep as her father's ring and those amazing words in here. I think the first content was having a stable relationship with someone who trust in him completely and loves him.

but doesn't it show symbolisation!? That by getting the box in the first place, she was giving him the opportunity to get to her heart!? I don't know if its just me, but I see it as symbolisation for the layers of her heart, because the time she opens the first layer is the time when they decided to talk about their relationship, and accept they like each other.

But she isn't a co worker an aquitance to Kensi. But her bride maids are friends. People she grew up with that knew her. There is a difference ❤❤

I think it's because the don't want to lose their rings and Kensi wears her ring when she's at home
