if Steve had told Catherine that his Aunt Deb passed away from the tumor in her brain in his house sometime after his Uncle Leonard passed away from leukemia and that they were both cremated, it should've made Catherine decide to go home to Hawaii and fight to get Steve back despite that he was dating Lynn, job or no job as a government agent overseas.
Look how affected we are as a society in this comment section. Even in tv we always take the parents side when the parents are the core problem. We learn our insecurities from our parents. We learn our core behavior and values from our parents. Then when the kids behave like they were shown, we blame the kids. No wonder we have a society that blame shifts constantly.
You are a good man, Martin Deeks, a very good one' - that's it, exactly! For the most part, Deeks may be a funny guy with a fantastic wit, which he uses brilliantly throughout the show, to cheer Kensi up or to buy the team time and confuse their enemies during investigations and interrogations, but what is more important, is that deep down, Deeks is a very good, solid man with the heart of gold, compassionate and not afraid to show his softer side, which is how you know he is also truly manly - because he is not insecure about his softer side. And this is why Kensi fell in love with him, he is a great guy all around! The need to help and protect people, especially weaker ones who are in big danger, we can assume, comes from these traumatic, early childhood experiences, when Deeks was forced to shoot his own abusive father to protect his mother and himself! And I love that the show started exploring the more serious side of Deeks in later seasons although they should have used Deeks even more in situations like this one, coz in these kinds of dramatic cases Deeks, his true essence - really shined. Eric Christian Olsen shined in these storylines as well, as an actor, he is a very talented actor not just in comedy, but in serious drama as well! This scene is beautiful, and I love how Kensi uses Deeks' full name here: 'Martin Deeks' - because it somehow highlights Deeks' true, wonderful nature and courage, it's like Kensi suddenly, in that one moment, dropped the smokescreen of jokes and just wanted to confess from the bottom of her heart what makes Deeks a great man and the love of her life. It was a little wonderful moment of genuine love and understanding, and showing their true, natural connection. I love them! One of the best written and best developed, and the best-portrayed TV couples ever!
In this episode, Jerry could've asked Catherine to please stay in Hawaii and not leave Steve again. Jerry must've felt sorry for Steve after hearing that Catherine was leaving him to help earthquake victims in Nepal, which was a lie at Steve's expense.
@JamesSmith There was nothing 'weird' about it. Smh, I'm tired of explaining this to people who don't know the story from the beginning. Daniela and Eric kissed on the show - as Kensi and Deeks - well before Eric introduced his brother to Daniela. Daniela and Eric already knew in season 3 that Kensi and Deeks would one day be a couple and are each other's romantic interests, and again - they kissed each other on the show much earlier, before Daniela met Eric's brother, let alone before Daniela started dating Eric's brother and got engaged with him. So the truth is that Dani and Eric must have been aware of all the complications and awkwardness that would arise from this whole situation, well before Eric introduced his brother to Daniela. And, of course, Eric's brother also knew in advance that Eric was working with Daniela and that they were playing a couple - romantic interests on the show, so he also had to come to terms with it from the beginning. So it's clear that they were all just adults, mature, and didn't make any big deal out of it! Daniela, Eric, and his brother already knew how to deal with it. What Daniela and Eric do as Kensi and Deeks is just acting - yes, good, believable acting, and kissing, but kissing as actors, is also not quite the same as in real life, there are 'tricks' and acting techniques to make it look like real kisses, but in reality, they are not. As you saw, they made it work perfectly, and they are all very close to each other, so it worked and it wasn't awkward at all. Bottom line: Dani&Eric kissed on the show as Kensi and Deeks and were a fictional couple way before Dani got together with Eric's brother, so they all figured it all out in advance, it's obvious.
Doris told Steve that she likes Catherine after she paid them a surprise visit at Steve's house while they were comforting each other. If Catherine told Doris that Steve has found someone else that he's dating and that she's a blonde, Doris should've told Catherine to return home and fight for Steve. It hasn't been revealed why Lynn broke up with Steve later on, and Catherine should've stayed with Steve right after hearing that he & Lynn broke up.

Even though steve left to find his mother n Catherine went with him, ive no doubt Danny is holding down the fort just as be promised with the rest of them. I miss this show!
It would've been good to see Catherine after being reunited with Steve again asking Steve to marry her and he would say yes and then they would be eloping, though Danny would've been happy but also sad that he didn't get invited to be the best man.
That man who shot and tried to kill Danny for his personal revenge didn't have the guts to tell him, Steve, Junior & Tani who he is and why he hates Danny in the first place. He didn't think that Danny will be saved somehow after shooting himself to prevent being arrested.
Jerry's mother would've been so proud of him for his earning the Hawaii Five-o badge after he helped saved Steve, Danny, Chin Ho & Kono earlier. Wonder what happened to Jerry's father, who would've been proud of him earning the badge?
It would've been good to see Steve and Catherine in at least one episode of the reboot of Magnum, P.I. after the cancellation of the reboot of Hawaii Five-0, to see if Steve & Catherine had decided to elope after all that Steve had been through since he thought he lost his mother when he was a kid, or maybe on an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles in which Steve sees Sam Hanna for the 1st time in years and that Steve owes him a steak dinner, which didn't happen.

Joe White, who was Steve's SEAL trainer, should've tried to tell Catherine to return to Steve and marry him after all that he's been going through since he and Mary thought their mother was killed in a car accident. If Steve had said to Catherine that he's wants to marry her and had shown him the engagement ring before she would lie to him about why she's leaving Hawaii, she would've said yes and maybe Joe White would give Catherine away if her own father couldn't attend, and Danny Williams would be the best man at the wedding.
