Ok, first of all, loved ur reaction it was amazing ! Yes that is the whole group together, Nct is boy band is which divided into sub-units such as nct u, nct dream ,nct 2018 and wayv(nct china) which is lead by lee taeyong Nct meaning 'Neo culture technology' .There is a lot of plans to keep adding more members as the years go on. Yes, the level of talent in NCT is insane. But If you know SM Entertaiment, think of the level of telent SM has as a whole. That is why SM commands the top spot and why it's one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world. We wouldn't expect anything less than top talent. And that is why the company has become known as a powerhouse for vocals and dancing skills. All of its artist are super multi-talented. You know someone must be extra special if they are part of SM. You can't even debut as an SM artist without having superior vocals and/or dance skills. :D SM Entertaiment is the founder of everything we know of as Kpop today and they have some of the most legendary and talented groups. NCT-2018 was a special project created by SM in 2018 because, at the time, there were 18 members in NCT and SM thought it was a cool contrast that the number of members reflects the year. So they created this performance for "Black on Black" to highlight NCT. Here is some information about how NCT works. I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry. NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song. NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, YangYang, Hendery and Xiaojun are not in this performance because they had not debuted until 2019 and SungChan and Shotaro didn't debut until 2020. There are 13 members who aren't even from Korea and 11 of them have no Korean heritage. The first unit to debut was NCT-U which began April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit so the members don't change quite as much as the other groups. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So its 127's job to represent Seoul around the world. NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and it is made up of all the youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 19 and 21 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created this sub-unit with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (who is also a member of NCT-U, NCT-127 -- the only NCT member to debut as part of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- and SuperM) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun, who are all older than 19, we thought would be graduating in 2019. However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole " graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group. The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because, at the time of their debut, the conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at its peak and China wasn't allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. (3 members of WayV first debuted as members of other NCT sub-units and Kun officially debuted as the 18th member in "Black on Black".) "Black on Black" is a special project group performance, so it is designed to highlight the group's dance skills, it's not really about the song. They are lip syncing, or not singing at all, because this is a dance practice video and not an actual performance.This video just highlights another aspect of what makes NCT so talented. If I remember correctly, they actually debuted this performance as a special live stage showcase, before the MV was released, or maybe in tandem with the MV. So they can do all this live, too, while singing live. Taeyong is the official leader of NCT, so no matter what sub-unit you are talking about, he is the leader of everyone (Although, Kun is the leader of WayV and Mark is the captain of NCT-Dream. They all defer to Taeyong as the leader when they are all together.) -- he is the "mom" of all 22 members.Yes, Taeyong has a prominent role in almost everything they do. Plus, he is one of NCT's best dancers, he is a main rapper and he is a songwriter and producer. These days, Taeyong and Mark pretty much write all their own rap parts in NCT's songs. They are both gaining a reputation for being really good at turning a phrase when it comes to lyrics. Some even say that Taeyong and Mark are SM's favorite NCT members because they get the most parts in every project. But Taeyong stands out because he has that leader quality. Fun fact: If you notice, when Mark first appears in the beginning, when he jumps over Taeyong, etc., he says, " ... NCT we the dream team ...". The group's concept is based on dreams, so everything they do has something to do with being in a dream, dreaming or some sort of dream state, etc., so they as a whole are the dream team. And the blond guy in the center in the middle of the dance break section (with the leather hat in the dance practice) -- the one with the skills at popping -- was Jisung. Jisung is the maknae (youngest) of the whole NCT group and he is one of their best dancers. Lucas was the rapper in the middle of the performance who told us to "freeze!!!", who was kneeling in front during the part where they were standing on each other. (Lucas debted as a member of NCT-U in their "Boss" MV which came out a few months before "Black on Black".) Ten is THE Soloist in NCT. He has the most solo projects of any of the members because he is their best/most skilled main dancer and he has beautiful vocals, so SM has given Ten a lot of solo songs and projects over the years. Ten is Thai and he is also a member of NCT-U, WayV and SuperM. (Ten's solo in "Black on Black" will be different every time he does it because this was freestyle.) Notice how the majority of the members who were the centers of this performance are also members of SuperM -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas. And that is why SM chose them to be a part of that group, because they are the members of NCT who are some of the most talented, most popular and the ones that have that undefinable "it" factor. SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup which is made up of members from all of SM's most popular groups, which includes EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV. NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year is NCT's 5th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group.

My favorite dance practice for each unit is NCT 127-Kick it , NCT DREAM-Rindin , WAY V-Moon walk And NCT U is to hard to decided one. I recommend lovely - Billie Eilish , that is Ten and Winwin from WayV are choreographed by themselves. That's a masterpiece!

Please check out Taeyong's (NCT leader) freestyles. He has a lot, so if you just search up "Taeyong freestyle," you'll find some. I personally like his "Paris in the Rain" freestyle. A lot of his freestyle videos are filmed artistically. Would also love more NCT dance practice reactions. In my opinion, "Black on Black" is not even one of their best choreos. Try NCT 127's "Firetruck" or NCT U's "Boss" dance practice for starters. Thanks!
