Wow I never knew Ne-yo was so genuine and down to earth. He's a true man, intelligent, well spoken, funny, hardworking, loyal, and overall just very savvy and insightful. 🤴🏾🔥🙌🏼
Super likeable guy, great sense of humour in an age where everyone is fixated on being "that nigga" it's always dope seeing humble artists and genuine people
coolbyaccident Dudes always worrying about. If they look or sound gay. I hate when a dude always saying pause. Every five minutes. If you're straight gay shouldn't be on your mind. All the time
I LOVE NE-YO!!!!! He is a musical genius and people don't even realize it. I had an opportunity to listen to some of his unreleased music and all of it was FIRE! AND IT WAS THE SONGS THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THE ALBUM! I was in love with him before then but that just made me love him even more. Dude is an impeccable writer and producer.
Frank Ocean, Gallant, Daniel Caesar, Gambino, Bruno Mars, and Anderson Paak are the top R&B artists right now. Loving the variety in R&B right now! Fire
FLuX Nemo Im trying to hear this good RnB on the mainstream level. I like most those artist but damm. besides Bruno Mars ..can we get them some airplay
Stop saying R&B is dead. R&B doesn't get the same attention it used to and as the industry has turned to trends and this fast paced hits and singles only focus it has become harder for true artists to get their due and exposure. Everybody's faves are still making music: Lalah Hathaway, Maxwell, Vivian Greene, Tamia, Usher, Amel Larrieux (Groove Theory). Alternative/Electronic R&B: Xavier Omär, Ella Mai, Jesse Boykins, Dornik, SG Lewis, Solange, Kelela and just talented people who sing and write really well like: Durand Bernarr, Sevyn Streeter, Tamar Braxton, Keke Wyatt, Melanie Fiona, Masego, Justine Skye, Daley, Grace and so many more. For every genre today, mainstream does not equal excellence or quality. We have to look harder for talent, That's all there is to it. And nothing can stay the same, separate nostalgia and artistry from holding a new generation to making you feel the same way you did when you were 15 or 20 in a totally different time. Until you hear something that perks up your ears, put your faves on repeat and hush or do some research. #NotArguing #JustSaying
Afia Griffith Man. They say this for every genre. Rock is dead. Hip hop is dead. Jazz is dead. Classical music is dead. People are just bitter because they're getting older and younger generations are appreciating newer versions of these types of music. And like you said, people need to realize that there is always an underground scene of artists in any genre that is making music that you will like. Sticking to the basics that you appreciate while pushing the genre forward.
R&B (as we know it) is dead. You can not know how to sing at all, and be a successful R&B artist because of auto-tune. Also, it's one thing to say the music is different, but the content itself about being faithful, love, passion, etc is missing from today's music. Nowadays it's about clubbin and having many different women and stuff. The fact that our classic themes aren't mainstream anymore is bad, because hip-hop and pop themes never changed. R&B is void of talent and soul. When the music of these artists you mention dies out, the genre goes with it.
i agree with yall both. even tho there are a lot of dope rnb musicians. NONE of them are getting to a caliber on popularity that can singlehandedly keep the culture of rnb alive. chris brown actually could have been that guy in my opinion but his music has become so misogynistic and raunchy that he wouldnt be able to properly be the frontman for rnb. we dnt hv a beyonce or usher caliber artist of rnb right now. frank gon b our lauryn so he out. this is a real dope convo tho. great topic.
when he said "why would i be in the crowd??" so sincerely I laughed out loud! lol so cute! lol glad ur back Ne-Yo! Vocals melody and lyrical content was definitely missed!
Lmmfaooooooooooooooo Charlamagne called Drake a damn emotion!!!! Like your whole aura is just a soft ass emotion. BRUH, I almost fell out my damn chair. Like yea, that is an accurate description of Drake right there.
When Charlamagne said Rihanna never had that urban look I was confused. From Rude Boy (2009), to What's My Name (2010), Talk that Talk, Birthday Cake and Cockiness (2011), to Love Song and Pour It Up (2012). Rih has always had that urban look to her what was he talking about. That's what made her and Bey so special...they both worked that pop and urban side. Anti was definitely urban af.
THe average 37 year old shouldnt have aged looking skin anyways. Not even a 47 year old..imho. 30s and 40s is old to someone who's 20 years old, but 30s and 40s aint old. No one should be looking old at age 30 or 40, if they do, its either because of bad genetics or a bad lifestyle.
Emerson Herndon yeah that was a weird comment he made but I understand how envy doesn't want to do that bc he has young girls around...(idk if neyo have girls or not)
I've been waiting on your album my little chicken Mcnugget head. I was hoping it would sound like Dornik- "Stand in your line", who sounds like the old you in the UK
that year of the gentleman album tho...classic and charlamagne why you ask why hes judging on the dance show like he don't dance. ....he dances alot too not just omarion lol
i remember neyo and chris brown came out around same time. they took off and never looked back. til this day when you listen to they music you get a feeling that makes it believable. not every artist have that feeling to there music. you have to appreciate them for that.
Ne-Yo is 🔥🔥. He makes great music. I remember years back he was talking about how him and Fabolous were going to make an album together. They always make great songs. Crazy Love by Ne-Yo feat. Fabolous is my shit. I love how it's over that Lauryn Hill "Sweetest Thing" beat.
Why they always trying to set people up with these gay comments? What is that about? Every interview they're laughing about being gay, asking gay questions to "test" the artist. What is that about??? It's so tired.
I was thinking the same thing, and you can tell when Charlamagne purposely tries to keep going back to the question, as if to finally get the artist to say something crazy.
I hate this idea of pop being a genre. How is popular music a genre?? Pop is only code word for white acceptability. Genres are hip hop, jazz, blues, rock, neo soul etc.... Can't any of those genres be pop. As I see now rap music is popular aka pop music everyone's dipping and dabbing or want to be featured on rap tracks. So I don't get it
SMALLZZZ SMALLZZZ Nobody says pop is a genre. When people say pop, they refer to any music in any genre, that has catchy lyrics and instrumental but has little substance.
pop music isn't automatically "music with no substance". it can simply be any song that is accepted and listened to by the masses, resulting in good commercial performance
