The Dairy Queen was not too far away but it was such a hot day in Arizona in July it was dripping all over me by the time we got back to the location.

Bill Paxton was at his finest in this movie. I'm visiting Los Angeles this month so might take a day drive out there. I always love that Aliens reference on the Warner cinema.

My wife introduced me to this one,I always knew about it but was never interested in watching it as i wasn’t a big vampire fan..she bought me the plain old DVD last year but after watching this i showed her this gorgeous German media book and she surprised me again by getting me that just before i typed this. It’s such a fantastic movie that I’m glad she got me to watch it

Love when Sean reenacts scenes, I really enjoyed him doing his version of the ice cream cone scene, hilarious! I laughed out loud.😆 I also like his enthusiasm, it makes the videos even more enjoyable. Plus, the inserting of the scenes from the movie is very professional and allows the viewer to compare the what things looked like as compared to now. Keep up the great work, Sean!

As a completionist, I’m glad you got to finish this, even if a year later! I went to see this on my birthday back in ‘87 which makes it even more memorable. I think Paxton’s performance in one of his best and so underrated!!

I love the excitement you got when you found the exterior of caleb's house. That is another thing that separates you from all these other youtubers who just do filming locations with little to no enthusiasm when visiting locations.

Greetings from the UK! What an awesome video. I can't believe you managed to actually find and walk around the original house grounds from the movie. One of my favourite movies featuring an excellent soundtrack by my favourite band Tangerine Dream and featuring an array of wonderful actors from that era. Well done Sean 👍😁

Sean. thank you for this video about the filming locations of Near Dark. I adore this movie, especially because I was born in August of 1987. This movie is not easy to buy on either Blu-ray/ or even DVD. I wound up paying $200 for a Region-B copy to add up my collection. I wish a well known distributor would release the movie in the states. Thanks again for your hard work on movie locations.

Sean, I saw your live chat earlier about picking up an item from Ozzy’s Ultimate Sin Tour in 1986. I can only respond to your latest comment I sent you about Near Dark. I’m curious, do you have Ozzy Osbourne: The Ultimate Ozzy? The concert was pro-filmed on 04/01/1986 at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, MO. This is an interesting date, because my favorite band Metallica opened for Ozzy. As the tour progressed I’ve read that more people went to see ‘tallica than Ozzy, which upset Ozzy and his management. The DVD of this concert is only available as a Region-2 DVD, but I highly recommend.

Love this video Sean! I may be wrong but I think one of the motels is probably the Sierra Polona on the Sierra Hwy in Agua Dulce. The shutters and bushes look incredibly similar.

TBF Tim Thomerson was the biggest name in the movie at the time, I remember him in the 1970s on Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley, he was in Car Wash that also had George Carlin and Richard Pryor, that was 1976, I actually saw that movie in theatres after seeing Star Wars for about the 4th time. Sh!t, now I have The Pointer Sisters in my head. He was also Dollman, a 6 inch tall private eye, there were sequels too.

Ah I should have bought this on blu when it was in print. The DVD is pretty stocked with special features but not the best quality. I wonder if they ever found Jenny Wright.
