Exactly! Every time I just looked at a moss pole it seemed like moss mess would fall out. It was so messy I was contemplating not using them. The burlap has worked well at keeping things neat.

I also bought the plastic moss pole . I had a time getting it together. I also think it is messy. The burlap looks like a good solution. I will have to try that. I just put moss in my pole and did not think to put potting mix in. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to more from you.

Great idea for improving a moss pole, another thing you can add is cling plastic wrap for the last layer so when you water the moss the water won't leak on the floor.

Great idea. My moss poles are already made. I do like the look of the burlap. I might add it from now on and to the poles plants have not already attached to.

I've been using Hugo's Amazing tape instead of the green velcro. It's completely transparent so you don't even see it on the poles. Works great and is reusable.

I use soil on the bottom part of my moss pole that goes into the pot. You’ve really got me thinking here! I use a hint water bottle with little holes drilled in the lid to water my poles and never let them dry out all the way, never watering the soil in the pot, only the pole. If I layer the pole like you do I will have to refigure how to water. I love love love your idea of the burlap for an aesthetic look! 👀

LOL, the answer is yes. I have had one in my yard. I tried to sneak out into my screenroom to get a pic but he heard the lock click and jumped back into the water. They are actually quite nervous about people. I respect them and they do the same. I've lived in Florida for over 20 years and that was my first time ever seeing one close up.
