Great preview. For me the highlight would be the classic Japanese cars, you just see so few of them, I haven't seen one of those orange Hondas since the 70's. I will always be first and foremost a lover of British classics, but I do have an appreciation and respect for the role played by the Japanese in the automotive history of this country. As for the EV, it's interesting as a concept and without getting into all the pros and cons of electric vehicles, for me personally, electric vehicles will never hold my interest (yes I have driven some), for me the enjoyment of driving and vehicles will always be about the mechanical aspects, sounds etc. Looks like it will be a great show, wish I could be there. Have fun.
Another great video. Thanks so much. We had many British cars in Canada. My dad brought a new Minor back from Scotland in 1951 (they toured Europe in it extensively). They took it up to Elk Lake, Ontario where plugging your car in was mandatory in the dead of winter. The roads were horrendous - but it survived. When they finally moved south, my father traded it on a new Volkswagen (my mother was heartbroken). Given your rigorous inspections, I am amazed that so many of these cars survived.
Being in the NL and not being able to visit the NEC, this is a great way to have a sneak peak of this event. Thnx Steph (and Ian, and Ruste, and…. I watched them all 😂)
Missed you at the show yesterday, Day 1 but mum and I are here for all three days and hope to still see you, as well as Ian and Matt. Just getting ready to come for Day 2 as I write this but greatly looking forward to watching this video too. We did speak to the young gent at the Lancaster stand taking those competition photos and he mentioned he knows you. Anyhow, as always I'm the Brit Canadian wearing the Canadian flag hat, scarf and messenger bag. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
FANTASTIC! What a show. Over here we have the typical 'custom' or 'new car' shows but nothing like this with such a variety of old and new. I agree, love to see the old stuff yet to be restored. Thanks Steph for taking us round and congrats with 'Tina'!!
Another great video Steph. Thrilled to see Tina got to the show, and even more thrilled to find out she was finished and you managed to drive her there! Enjoy the show.
Thank you for showing more of the unusual cars rather than what is otherwise seen practically everywhere. Sure, I love Minis and Beetles too, but I've always been more keen on what's across the fence, so to speak. Really wish I could be there and enjoy the show meself! Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
I worked at a two bit car dealer in Idaho in the 70s. We had a 72 Honda n600 (5:30) for running parts around town. It was a blast to drive. It's hard to believe my 2006 Acura RL came from the same people. lol
Tina looks amazing!!! You did such an incredible job with her, you should be quite proud of yourself. I wish I could be at the NEC, but given I’m in the U.S., that won’t be happening this year. Have a great show Steph! ❤️
You missed out the Austin A40 Farina stand, must have been an accidental cut in the edit 😉 Caught a few glimpses of Tina yesterday when setting up, she was looking good!
Steph, I am pleased you DID make the show and with 'Tina!' I know there's been many heartbreaks along the way. However, you DID it along with your friend, Kev's help! I have now watched all the videos of the 'terrible threesome,' you, Ian and Matt. I do this with every show as you know! And it's amazing how each of you brigs out a different angle or point of view in the same show! THANK YOU so much. Take care.
12:52 the best 4x4 ever made. Those can go up a cliff. Maybe not a cliff but, I remember a day out years ago with those going up ridiculously steep inclines (with me in the back) and it made it. If I were to guess the gradient of the hill... over 50%. You're convinced you'll be tipped over but the Land Rover can do it, at least those old short wheelbase boxy ones can. An amazing off roader.
Hi Steph, Sadly I could not get to the NEC But Glad to see Tina There and Looking Revived. I had The Ital Version Many years ago when values hit Rock Bottom. I paid believe it or not £85 for her just to get me from Birmingham to a site in Derby for a month Whilst my Montego was repaired. Well I ran the Ital for 3 years I left the Montego at home for my wife to use ferrying the children about and back and forth to work I used the Ital for driving around collecting the guys to take them to work. Great car apart from the Gear boxes I think the 1.7 K series was too powerful for the Morris derived box But I Could swap it in about 3 and a half hours in the end, Sadly Neglect and Sheer abuse Finally Saw her end But in my opinion a very under rated car!!
Well done Steph Great to see you made the show with Tina !!! Nice to have a little preview of the show. Looking forward to seeing the reveal all the best Tim
Thank you for the whistle stop tour. As always there will be some interesting vehicles to see. I too love commercial vehicles lorries and vans. I think you made the point that these were the work horses of their day and many would worked until they 'dropped' to bits. The other point is of course you need somewhere to store them which is not always easy to find. So glad Tina made it and that thanks to Kev you Steph were able to drive her to the NEC because at one point we all thought she would be going on a trailer. Great stuff as usual Steph and yes send Fred to the Land Rover stand I am sure he will enjoy himself.👍👍
All the cars you shown in this video are great. But to see Tina looking splendid you and Kev have done yourselves proud in such a short time from a layby to a car show in a matter of weeks am not surprised Kev needs a holiday and you a bath and chill. Hope it goes well for the trio.
A brilliant video Steph, and good to see Tina finished, you and Kev done a cracking Job on Tina. I never managed to get down in November but, will be back in March for the Resto Show.
Hello Steph, what a great time wandering around the various stands with you, I thought the "Viva" stand was very good! To see "Tina" was wonderful, having watched the video with Kev doing his display of skills and building up your confidence too! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
thank you for posing for photo with me yesterday 11th nov 23 hope you like the lil pressiei left you see you next year i will give you and hubnut and matt furious driving on my youtube channel
Great Video Steph. I would love to get down but unfortunately I cannot at the moment so these videos are important, I think my lot the GCCC are there. I would like to see the Triumph name resurrected. WOW Tina is impressive well done both you and Kev, she looks an entirely different car now.
Great video. I like the personal selection, it was much less rushed. When you interview people can we please look at the vehicle they are talking about?
That TR concept car is an interesting idea, and there are a lot of impressive cars at the show based on what I'm seeing here. But it's going to take a really brave person with some deep pockets to restore that BMW 2002 and that other old car. I'd love to know the background story to those two cars. And congrats on Tina, she's really looking great and I see Matt got the 200 sorted as well.
Hi, I really enjoy your videos,on your nec video you introduced some American cars that had something to do with a ladies group ? I want to find out more about the mercury comet ,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ken
Hi Steph #idriveaclassic . Do you still have your Metro? I was walking around the NEC on Saturday and came across your stand. You wasn't there to chat with. Later on you looked a little busy so I didnt bother you. I'm not sure that you'd remember me but you reviewed my Ford Escort Cabrio in Blue a few years back. I'm glad to see you're doing well. I'll look out for you next year.
What talk on the Triumph concept car ? Is it a one man car or can it take passengers ? Is it a convertible ? How does one get in to it Where are the seat belts ? A lot of questions that should have been asked or explained .🙃
I missed the show this year , but thanks for sharing , this is fabulous. I'm so pleased you managed to get Tina the marina ready . I really love your cars , I have a 1994 fiat cinquecento and have a very rare fiat uno 1.7 Diesel you are always welcome to come and drive them for your videos , keep up them amazing videos that you do . Take care Steph ,
