Kia ora,
It's been 4 months since I did my Squat Prospector gang guide and now I've had a bit more hands on experience. In this video I provide some information on how to build a Squat list in Necromunda. I've kept it fairly basic but built some lists that I feel maximize the strengths of the short fellows. Enjoy!
(second list is actually illegal due to gang composition but you get the idea. hadn't had enough coffee this morning it seems)

My 1k list I've been using for 1 off games whilst learning the rules is as follows Leader with IH Stubgun, powerfist, mesh armour and bull charge. 200 creds Champion with IH heavy stubber, suspensor, mesh armour, Dependable like kin. 300 creds Champion with IH Autogun, smoke grenade, mesh armour, There's always another secret. 140 creds Specialist with IH Autogun, mesh armour. 90 creds Ganger with IH Autogun, mesh armour. 90 creds Ganger with IH Autogun, mesh armour. 90 creds Juve with IH Stubgun 45 creds Juve with IH Stubgun 45 creds That's 1000 credits and 8 guys. Also the squat gang box only comes with 8 guys not the standard 10

Thanks for the good Video! I really enjoying your Necromunda Contet - keep it coming! A small comment on what you said at 3:17 . The Squat Boxes are 8 Models per Box not 10!

Nice content as usual :) About the 'Armor' list: you have 1 Leader, 2 champions, but only 2 Gang fighters; you need to either squeeze in one more Gang fighter or downgrade one of the champs to Ganger, to have a 'legal list' (or do they have an exemption from normal gang composition limitations?). Anyway, cheers! :)

@@wellywoodwargaming Sure I get the idea, but as you stated yourself in the video, the 1st list is much more sensible for campaign play; Carapace armor is waay too expensive in a 1000 creds starting gang and Van Saars can do 4+ Armor better for much cheaper; that said, in an Succession campaign, where you start with 2000 creds, the armored Squats concept becomes much more viable (especially if you consider all Necro scenarios allow 10 fighters max, but more often around 6-8 models starting crews, so you can go for an 8-9 fighters ultra elite gang).

@@wellywoodwargaming ye the new campaign book is great for squats everyone starts with with 2k creds +400 creds for vehicles

Just catching up. Great video with some great advice. I ran my first game with Ironheads on Saturday using 1000 creds and house list. It was a skirmish so that left me to pick skills with more immediate gratification. I was playing against helots so I ran a fairly boring list but managed to get 8 bodies in (I could have easily ran 7 as the toughness really helps) and I had a ton of fun with them. Mvps were definitely juves though I ran 2 with stub guns and dum dum rounds, one took out the enemy leader as he was so focused on my bolters. Mitigation of the poor bs with +2 at short range was a real bonus...dont get me wrong that's a very short, short range but still worked out. I'll definitely run melta in a future list as it's too good not to even try. Autoguns are the workhorse of the gang. They might not be taking everyone out but the will pin to the point of frustration. Nobody pushes Kin around on a bolter champ a straight up killer combo if you can get elevation. No knock back and auto pass initiative is phenomenally good to keep you a reliable threat. I'll leave it there, I've got lots more thoughts on them but this is getting essay length.

Awesome dude. Yeah after playing against them a fair bit now I actually feel like those juves are cheating with the movement 5! The audacity of a movement 5 dorf!! 🤣

@@wellywoodwargaming I'm a bit frustrated at the weird unique skills. The ability to ignore unstable - no unstable weapon in the list? Use chems twice - no access or obvious link to chems. I'll run a plasma gun at some point but the real identity of the Ironheads is the weaponry. No ability to utilise different ammo types is also a real shame. I say all of this but had such a good time using them, I'll finish my gang and get some more table time.

@@underhiversunderconstructi290 yeah I mean those are just some of the reasons why they're not on my list of campaign gangs to play any time soon. I think they're great in skirmish games but I feel I'd get very bored of the play style very quickly in a lengthy campaign honestly. That's just me though

@@wellywoodwargaming no, I feel the same. An additional special champ or trait like chem alchemy etc would go a long way. As they are, I think they are a pretty good starter gang. Very forgiving and few moving parts.

@@underhiversunderconstructi290 oh yeah they're very powerful and definitely a strong gang to play, they're just a bit too one dimensional and honestly once you get used to the novelty of rolling extra rapid fire dice they are a bit dull really imo. Give me badzone enforcers all day long right now 😍

Quick question: When the Juve is promoted, do they keep the same movement rate?

Yeah stats stay the same excluding any advancements and injuries

Yeah pretty much. Though that is a boring playstyle I suppose. I'm not personally interested in playing squats though as they are too one dimensional in general for me

It’s pretty slimy that they obviously designed the kit with an upgrade sprew coming later rather than just actually making a complete kit.
