Love the videos... Love the interaction between you 2 guys... It's just so simple, so... just a conversation... no big flashy animation. Simple is better sometimes... And these videos work amazing just like that...

The war in heaven was a war between the old ones and the necrontyr, the Necrons before they became Robots. So the Necrontyr were plagued with chronic radiation sickness and were not able to find a cure. Their race was slowly dying. On their search for a cure, they found a very old and powerful race, called the old ones. They were god like beings, but didn't want to intrude on the natural order of things so they didn't save the necrontyr. Enraged by this, the necrontyr started a War against the old ones. The war in heaven. Weapons of mass destruction were used, whole gaalxies were obliterated. The necrontyr were loosing, as the old ones created special races, the eldar and precursors of the orcs, to counter the abilities of the necrontyr. At a certain point, the necrontyr realized that there was something else out there. The C'Tan. Old star eating being, barely able to exist in the material plane. The necrontyr struck a deal. The C'Tan helped them get rid of the illness of their biological bodys and gave them the keys to turn into life-like robots. In turn the necrontyr had to give the C'Tan bodies, so that they could exist in the material plane. The material used was necrodermis, a metal that adepts its shape to the mind of the being it should represent. With this, the, now Necrons, had enough possibilities and fought back the old ones. Especially with the help of the C'Tan, their victory was undoubted. They eradicated the Old Ones and became the only race in the history of WH40K to actually and undoubtedly win. As that wasn't enough, the Silent King Szarekh realised that the C'Tan ate the soul of his people during the process of biotransference (becoming robot skeletons). Additionally, all of his inferiors were enslaved to his every word, by a command protocol. To seek revenge for the audacity of the star god's, the Silent King, one by one, trapped and shattered the gods of the Necrons. For their blasphemy, they shall be forever enslaved and power their machinery of war. At this point, only the Eldar and the Orcs were left. Since the Necrons were now immortal, the Silent King ordered his people to sleep for 60 Million years, in which the other races should have already does out or became weak! And as his last act before the great sleep, he freed his people of the command protocol, so that they are now finally free of their final shackles. While his people slept, he traveled the galaxies and looked for a process to revert biotransference, so that his people may reclaim their souls and become once again Necrontyr, but without their biological weaknesses. On this note, he found the Tyrannids, that consume all biological matter. This is a danger for his plans, as without biological matter, his people will never become "normal" again. Thus he tries to stop them by all means. Even if that means he has to work with inferior races. Long live the Silent King.

Necrons are the good guys of 40k, change my mind. Imo by far the lesser of all evils. You could say Eldar but they really f-ed up by becoming so debauched the created another Chaos god by the power of their depravity alone. Yes they might be sorry now but they really messed up. I guess the Tau could be contenders for a reasonably not-evil empire too. But the tragedy of the Necrons is what makes their lore the most interesting to me.
@gabzsy4924

@@88Eoghan dude...they murdered what could be considered the good and creationist Gods of 40k and shattered the balance of the galaxy because of selfish needs. Also, they enslaved themselves in this attempt by literally selling their souls. Not really the good guys here.

You could also use Mirage Mirror to copy something indestructible or hexproof. I built a non-competitive Trazyn Deck that is going for a Darksteel Reactor win, I just realized that if I have Trazyn become a copy of the reactor I can win with the charge counters I put on him to enable some of the other combos.

I did a 400€ upgrade for Trazyn, i was waiting for a black artifact commander for 4 years. When I saw it, i ordered the deck immediatly after. Treasure Vault is a great land for this deck AND Hall of the Bandit Lord !! If you can't search for your Ballista types of wincon, you can just makes infinite treasures and kill with Disciple of the Vault for exemple, or just play your deck, like tutor, peer into the abyss and so on /Exsanguinate/Torment of Hailfire. Golem Artisan to gives Trazyn haste to combo off right away. Currency Converter is also GOOD in there. I would also strongly recommend Dark Deal and Diamond Lion to discard your combo pieces sitting in your hand to your graveyard. If you want to make a Creatures types of deck instead of Combo, Crashing Drawbridge is a nice piece to add.
@GuysThatMagic

Thanks for the comment! All great options. These were the first infinites that came to mind but you definitely have a great idea! Probably be throwing torment into the $300 upgrade. Was a bit to much for just the $100. Will definitely have to take a look diamond lion though! -Steven

I think it's a mistake removing canoptek tomb sentinel, you need to consider the fact that sometimes there are problematic pieces on the board to prevent you from going off such as Null Rod. You need to have a backup plan to deal with those. Other cards to consider would be oblivion stone and perilous vault for mono black to handle bad enchantments and artifacts. Also consider running trading posts. It can help you dig for answers, also lets u discard key pieces straight into the graveyard to combo off, it also lets you recur pieces that you need back like mesmeric orb if it gets destroyed.

Glad yall went with Trazyn as well. Silent King is probably the worst face commander outta all 4 decks and for sure the worst legendary outta this precon. I've found the best results with this deck really going all in on upgrading the mana base. The other precons, due to the nature of combining different aspects of the lore, are pretty scattered. Simply due to the mono colored nature of the deck, its got a huge leg up. Boseiju Who Shelters All, Cabal Coffers, Cavern of Souls, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Plaza of Harmony, Urborg, Mox Amber, Mox Opal, and Jeweled Lotus. Incredibly stoked to see how yall round out the $300 upgrade. Great work as always.

Walking Ballista wouldn’t combo with the commander 3:46 right? Because it states to put those +1/+1 goes on Walking Ballista specifically. So that combo would require that walking ballista be on the battlefield right?
@GuysThatMagic
@GuysThatMagic Год назад
Ballista combo works because the way magic work is that a card will have the same abilities regardless of the text box. So for Walking Ballista the text box goes to your commander. Doesn’t need to be named Walking Ballista.

I think you might've missed that Necron Deathmark's ability makes two different targets. You don't need to destroy your own creatures to mill. You can flash in, destroy an opponents creature and then mill yourself. It's not that bad for 5 mana

The inability to untap is not an activated ability, therefore it works

I'm a new player, and I'm wondering how Trazyn can use the Walking Ballista ping effect if don't pay mana or tap the card to do it? I thought activated abilities were the effects that have a mana cost or tap the card? Also I wish The War in Heaven had a stronger effect because I agree that it has the most badass name in the deck.
@GuysThatMagic
@GuysThatMagic 7 месяцев назад
An activated ability is anything (a cost) followed by a colon. So the cost in the case of Walking Ballista is a removal of a +1/+1 Counter.
@jacobbrown9894
@jacobbrown9894 Год назад
The commander dude only gets activated abilities so milling Mesmeric Orb and Monument won’t let you mill your whole deck, mesmeric is a trigger. Having Orb out will tho

That’s correct. We want the orb on the field as a way to get more things into our graveyard.

@@GuysThatMagic Yeah I’ve played magic on and off for years some time around or before mirage off top of my head. so I was looking forward to using this deck to restore interest again. Will still enjoy the deck and adding to it thou so don’t get me wrong. It’s just (insert long rant lol ) *the deck portrays them as a one trick pony and even then it’s implemented poorly (works in mtg but doesn’t represent them on table top) *A lot of stats are way off (like wraiths or hqs in general). *A number of Abilities are on wrong units or missing. (Destroyer lord isn’t a noble for example). *Unit choices are weird like over emphasis on warriors (these come in large blobs in 40K to be effective) when the fighting force is mainly immortals, who only get one card. *HQs are implemented very, very wrong. (Trazyn is a minor overlord treated as a bit of a joke and he’s far superior to the silent king, who’s rules in 40K are covered via 2 A4 pages. Trazyn is called the infinite because he always comes back alive by jumping between bodies (a bit like Lucius in the chaos deck). *wrong art work on a couple cards like sol ring (I think that’s the one that mentioned trapped C’tan, yet it shows a firing monolith which as nothing to do with c’tan, whilst having a caged c”tan on another image under caged sun.. I could go on… lol. It’s a shame thou as cards like the night bringer the death marks and a couple others are great and totally fit fine.

Hey! I’m Steven I’m the one that created the upgrade for this deck. Thank you very much for your comment. I love the 2 new cards you mentioned. They are great for certain deck play styles. I don´t think the first combo works with the Walking Ballista in your graveyard. That is because of the wording of the cards. Ballista says, “put a +1/+1 counter on Walking Ballista.” If the Commander copies this ability while the ballista is in your graveyard, he would not be able to put a counter on himself because his name is not Walking Ballista. But you can still play the Ballista from you Hand with infinite mana and win the game.
@GuysThatMagic
@GuysThatMagic Год назад
It’s a weird subrule in magic but it works. The card refers to itself by name but if another card is copying the ability then it’s just an ability.
@Motte2382
@Motte2382 Год назад
Same with Staff of Domination isn´t it? If the Staff is in your graveyard the commander can untap a card called Staff of Domination but that’s not the commanders name so he cannot untap himself or am I wrong about that?
@pohjixian
@pohjixian Год назад
@@Motte2382 The rule reference would be: 201.4b If an ability of an object refers to that object by name, and an object with a different name gains that ability, each instance of the first name in the gained ability that refers to the first object by name should be treated as the second name. So Yes Trazyn would gain the ability to untap itself if a staff of domination in the graveyard

Although some people don’t like combos it is very much apart of magic and is always an option in some decks. Thankfully (at least with my play group) we have a rule zero before any game to discus power levels! Good luck to you in all your future games!
