MORE OF THIS! Also 100% of what Alex stated. Lite-Hammer 40k is a great option. For starters apparently. Faster games, less rules bloat. Once you get the gist, maybe go all in with a normal round of 10th edition 40k. So uh...I need to buy Typhus.

Bro, it's insane how bad my Death Guard got shit on in normal 40k games. I'm kind of interested in seeing Combat Patrol but I'm not sure how much I'll be playing it...

I don't watch the battle reports and physical games as much as some AJS folks do, but I couldn't click this fast enough. I love watching the 3 of you explore something new together, especially seeing Alex and OJ go against each other- always funny. But I look forward to the upcoming matches too.

5:10 I hate hate hateeee the concept of fighting enemies that are "fully engorged" 😂❤ The worst part is Nurgle ain't the only one that gets fully engorged either hahaha

At 19:00, they've actually changed how melee works and you have to physically be in engagement range or be touching the base of one of your units that is in order to be able to hit them, so the far skorpekh destroyer actually couldn't have been hit. Also, Typhus can't move independently of the poxwalker until they die, they have to go with him. Additionally, for that reason, Typhus couldn't be independently shot later at the 24:00 mark. The poxwalker unit is still alive and has to be fully destroyed to hit Typhus unless Joe has an attack with precision.

5 hours? We used to have games that would last a week on the floor of an emptied room, it was too crazy. Resembled a full battle rather than a skirmish. Orks were the funniest, when we deployed more than 500 Grots as cannon fodder.🤡 Ah, those were the days, when a friend came round and found a full scale Warhammer game going , with 2players per side and a GM, he gets exited and accidentally steps on a couple of Marines as he entered the room, he jumped and Mr Beaned his way across the room destroying more Orks than Armageddon.😂

Low key I started playing the mobile game tacticus because of these videos... It's a fun enough game to play here and there with some down time but if you wanna play all day the energy and stones and gems and all that cost money of course....

I sometimes think GW hate Death Guard.

After playing a few games against ork, necrons and druhkari combat patrols with my deathguard combat patrol I can confirm that as a deathguard player we blow even In this format. 30 poxwalkers with 0 ranged attacks causes us to take a offensive gameplan by move and advancing onto objectives in order to even have somewhat of a chance to win the game which leads to a very predictableplay pattern in which its so easy to counter with 95% of the other combat patrols (maybe excluding the khorne demon box). It's bad

I think Killteam is still the much better and more engaging game of games workshop’s offerings

@31:45 If your playing full-hammer and your way down by end of turn 2 and there's no way back you can just concede, providing you can justify it by explaining to your opponent what you can do and cannot do because of A B C, to swing the game back, and just not make it out like your quitting.

I’m in love with 40K but GW destroyed my death guard. I don’t see how they can fix it without a total rewrite of their data cards and army rules. Points reduction won’t cut it because they have to reduce points to an astronomically low. Which will suck. I feel with you Alex.

Been playing 40k for years. This is not a good time to start, 10th is horridly broken and is getting banned in some major tournaments. Still fun though for non-competive, if you have a strong chin.

ngl i kinda fell off your channel like 5 years ago when i fell out of love with vidya... had no idea you were doing batreps now.... for my new more costly hobby. resubbed today!

Consider yourself very lucky. None of my friends want to ever play D&D or Warhammer.

When I played my combat patrol I didn't know if we could use the basic strategem. Otherwise, I totally would have used rapid ingress to deep strike Typhus with his Pox Walkers, and give myself a good chance to get the charge in. Disgusting resilience is practically worthless. Useless on all of those pox walkers. Useless on the Marines unless the enemy's weapon does exactly two damage. That means it's mostly just for a character... And even then most of the time you're better off just using your command reroll if that's an option... I actually did seven damage to a hell brute with my pox walkers. Granted a fair chunk of that was luck, but at minimum a group of pox walkers would have forced that Necron shooter thing to shoot them instead of plague marines, and the group with typhus would probably kill it. I think deathguard literally only have a chance in combat patrol using rapid ingress on typhus with pox walkers. Kind of what happens when they give deathguard so much slow melee and make them less durable than they were in 9th... I actually saw a Biologus explode at my local game store and do that last damage to a screamer killer. It was beautiful. No unfortunately when he explodes he only does one mortal wound, he wouldn't have killed the Skorpek. Since they are all one unit, it would actually only do one damage to the entire group, not to each guy

DG have been nerfed into the ground this edition. They are the worst faction this edition. They have ruined them from a lote perspective and a gameplay perspective. DG were infamous fir theur durability. We lost DR and it got runred into an overpriced strat thar only works in melee, slowed us down even more and we have the least FNP saves out of all the factions. Our faction ability is trash as is our detachment ability. Its a friggin joke.

This channel gone down hill real fast. No tears of the kingdom review, instead we got the Gollum review. I miss the old joe reviews that were out on time. By the time tears gets reviewed on here nobody will care. Shame was a great channel but now I’m unsubbing.

This was a great bat rep, I can already tell from the last bat rep that you guys really stepped it up in overall quality, camera angles, army showcase. It’s really cool

The Death Guard combat patrol box is very much a product of ninth edition (though, funnily enough, it was not legal to play out of the box then) Typhus and 30 poxwalkers was and is basically a meme list. Chances are some of the CP boxes get redone like the necron one (which uses part of the 9th edition starter box) once the respective codex comes out, but sadly that means Death Guard will have to wait more than a year.

A team that really got shafted was grey knights units are over priced and a lot of spells were removed

so weve been playing the new edition alot in my local gameshop Shout out to Lost Planet! but so far for every 1 thousand points its like 1 hour. we were able to finsih our 2k games in 2-2.5 hours and our 1k games took around 1 hour. its pretty good so far. loving the new edition. and alot of peoeple have been playing combat patrol too. Its been brining in new faces to thats really nice to see! i hope GW keeps this edition clean.

I wish combat patrol was a bit more balanced, but I'm lookinf forward to it. 500 and 1000 point games are more my thing. I think 2k-3k just takes to long to play and after turn 2 you pretty much know who's got it.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Warhammer fans think that getting rules for free is something to celebrate? Shouldn’t that be a given?

I would much rather play war hammer as a fully fleshed out table top sim on console or computer, no measuring or ambiguity. Straight forward turn tree, some little cutscenes for the story elements, a custom map builder for casual pvp, not spending $150 for a nice army. Would be sweet.

To me the game is the most important, it tells the story of my army

I just want to praise you, Joe, and this channel - for the editing of this video and the addition of SFX in Post. I saw the full live twitch stream but this edited version is so much smoother because it's cutting out all the downtime, rules checking, decision making that can really slow down a battle. Here there's nothing but the key moments and the video is stronger for that. Keep it up. I want to see a lot of 10th Edition - either combat patrol or full game, please. This series is going to make a great archive when you look back on these early games and compare them to the meta and smoothness of the games to come, I'm sure. 😎
