Id really recommend printing out the index cards - it will make it easier to remember rules like Twin-Linked on the broodlord / ranged attacks on your swarm lord

17:40 You unfortunately got the rules interaction wrong. You always hit and wound against the attributes of the bodyguard unit. Precision only affects the wound allocation and the save which is after the wound roll.

What was with the toughness of attached units etc tyranids T4? Isn't it the toughness of the bodyguards of the attached characters? So should have been T4 genestealer not T6 broodlord?

Just FYI you can't use precision into a character if you can't see them (past ruins)... so the whole Tyranids T1 shooting shenanigans shouldn't have done anything to the character. Something to bank in the 10th Ed noggin! 🙂

Confused by this. The attacks are allocated against the unit, with precision the wounds can then be allocated to the character model of the unit. For RAW & RAI he would just gain cover as he "is" the unit. It would be then impossible to wound any character in combat with precision if you're not basing them, which isn't the case. Hope this helps

@@mikerushby2178 you're not targeting the model, you're targeting the unit. That's the point, the wounds get allocated to the model in the unit with the character keyword. Just like if there was a guy at the back that you couldn't see, you can put the wounds on that model. Another example, if you have a 10 man unit, 3 cannot be seen but you lose all 10 in the dice rolls, then they all die. 3 wouldn't survive. They would just get the benefit of cover because they are a part of the unit, same with the character if it's a part of the unit then until either the character or unit dies, it's one singular unit, not a character & unit, hence why they also share the same keywords etc. You can just choose to force the allocation of wounds on a unit to a character, not that you're attacking the character directly, as with the combat example.

@@333Beholder you just need to re-read precision on this one I’m afraid. It explicitly says the attacking model must be able to see the character.

@@mikerushby2178 shit, my bad, you're right! Precision explicitly needs LoS to the character from the attacking unit. At least it doesn't need the range, so you can be in range of the unit but not the character.

Good game, watching this in the background painting up my tourney army. I overheard a part where attacks were being made against the broodlord and a singular genestealer. The attack would still be against the genestealers toughness due to the bodyguard rule and not the toughness of the majority. Necrons missed out on a bunch of damage mitigation but you both played well! Nice game 😁

Q) What frame rate is your overhead angle camera filming on? As the banding (black pulsating lines on the screen) suggest you're filming at 60fps or the shutter speed is higher than the rooms light refresh rate! Just made sure it films at 24fps, with the shutter speed at 1/50 and it should be fixed!

The guns on the Necrons warriors are carrying Flayers not reapers the reapers are short double stacked weapons.

Also - cover does nothing vs AP0 ~~(so vs barbgaunts, a 4+ save does not improve to 3+)~~ edit: as pointed out below, cover vs AP 0 is only ignored if the target has a 3+ basic save or better
