I LOVE this mattress. Someone who has a bad back and need a firmer bed, and typical memory foam hurts me horribly! This bed is wonderful, I've never had a comfortable bed before, at least not comfortable like this! Great review, you leave no stone unturned! ☺

Thanks Adrianne! I'm really glad to know that this review was helpful for you, and that you're loving your new mattress. FYI, if you're willing, your feedback would be most helpful as a review on GoodBed, where people who are shopping for a mattress and looking for unbiased information will find it more easily. So far there aren't many owner reviews for Nectar, so your experience would be very valuable to people! @@goodbed hi i do have the nectar, paid 620.00 but wanted the nest had to settle for nectar because of cost at this time ...after watching your nest signiture series memory foam (medium) it seems the high density gel (4 lb) memory foams ...5 inches of it would be better for someone in chronic pain, 8 major joints replaced (I'm 6 foot 250 lbs);...because of the density of foam ( 4lbs) would provide more pressure relief along with support..what r your thoughts? can u recommend any other mattress for my issues, I was looking at was Casper wave...of course the wave is much more expensive ,but could b a fit for my problems

I really enjoy your videos/reviews and the information provided in them. Only thing I would say to add: pressure relief information. I saw a review in which the guy had a mat on top of the mattress, then he laid down on top of it and after being on the mattress, took a screen shot of the sensory information and compared it to a spring mattress also. I found that to be pretty valuable.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +BigRedH85 -- Thank you very much for your helpful comment. We are always looking for ways to improve the information we provide. In general, the biggest challenge we face in our reviews is striking a balance between being thorough and being time-efficient. In this regard, pressure mapping is certainly something we've considered but thus far it hasn't felt that the added information it provides is worth the added time and complexity it would introduce to our reviews. With pressure mapping, it's easy to show the picture, but the more important thing is helping people to understand what conclusions they can/should accurately drawn from it. Currently, we try to cover that same information just without the pressure map visuals. Nonetheless, we are always open to changes like this, particularly if our readers feel it would help them make a better decision. Thanks again for taking the time to make this suggestion!

I just received mine and as another commenter mentioned, my cover did not come with any gel memory foam quilted in. The foam also feels far different than how it looks in this review. It feels like the top layer reforms much much faster than this older model. I've contacted Nectar about this for a replacement and hopefully I will be able to get a better mattress. One more note is that the tag on the bottom of the mattress only lists two types of foam whereas I believe there should be three listed on these older models. Mine had no layer of gel memory foam. I appreciate this review though. It helped me realize all these differences in the model I got and helped me be more informed when conveying my concerns. Thanks!

Hi Naveed -- Thanks for your comment, and I'm glad to hear this review was helpful for you. Yes, Nectar has very recently made some changes to its materials and construction. We currently have the updated mattress in our test lab so will be updating our review as soon as we complete that process, most likely in the next few weeks. I'd like to know if it's a particular sized Mattress people order from Nectar that has it so backordered? I ordered my full sized Mattress on Valentine's day and received it 5 days later as promised. That said, as someone who has worked in retail (in the equestrian industry) I have some experience with order delays. When you have product that must meet certain industry standards you cannot rush the manufacturing process. And when that item is in so much demand there are going to be back orders for MONTHS especially in the most popular sizes. We've had helmet back orders for up to 5 months just because size 7 is the most popular size and the company couldn't keep up at first. I think this might be what Nectar might be experiencing for a new product that is in high demand. I'm not surprised in the least, though it sucks for the customer. I understand the frustration, but eventually they will get caught up. In regards to customer service hotline, I had called to ask about how the cover holds up to fluids spilled on it, and while the wait was Long they had an option to get a call back. I selected that and they called me back in 30 minutes. Rep recommended that I may want a waterproof cover to protect from fluids if I had a very small child or in my case, a cat that periodically vomits on the bed. I haven't opened my mattress yet because my new bed frame hasn't come yet, but from what I can tell, once people get the mattress most are happy with it.

I was looking into this mattress and was considering it til I watched ur review .....I'm looking for a memory foam mattress to replace my very old ...old school spring mattress that I have put a memory foam topper onto ...and it's in desperate need of replacing....I'm mainly a side sleeper but do sometimes on my back and never on my stomach.....I'm more of what I like to call a much fluffier person lol... I am a warm natured person but I do like softer beds ...it seems to feel better for my bad back but I do not want to be sinking in too much and have support obviously..... I'm disabled (I have ms) so cost is defiantly a thing that also has to be considered. Also I live in a very rural area so buying online would be my best and easiest option....Since you seem very knowledgeable on mattresses was wondering if you had any suggestions please ☺

GoodBed omg no I’m here watching all your videos I appreciate what you’re doing. I need to buy five new mattresses for my family members and it’s so hard and confusing. I am on the overweight side but want good supportive memory foam that will support 260 I Have very bad hip problems I’m confused should I go with the memory foam or mattress with springs and memory foam I do want some of that sinking feeling but not much and a nice supportive mattress for the heavier weight but don’t want to break the bank since we have to buy five
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
@@susanabushaban2719 I totally understand. Have you seen our guide for heavier folks yet? If not, you can find it here: www.goodbed.com/best-mattress-heavy-people/ In general, memory foam mattresses would not be amongst our very top picks for heavier people, however if you really enjoy memory feel, that matters and you should be able to have that. In that case, we'd recommend a mattress that uses memory foam over very firm supportive coils. There is a mattress on the list above that meets this criteria. I hope that's helpful.

Very good and knowledgeable review. I love it. I have more questions. Is it suitable for a disable man not too heavy about 71kg or 157 lbs. Medium built in fact and is loosing weight. Due to lockdown he is a little heavier than normal. Does the mattress offer good longevity in the tropical temperatures. Can I have it shipped to Malaysia. Thank you so much.
@goodbed
@goodbed 3 года назад
Hello and thanks for the question. First, we do not sell mattresses -- we are just reviewing them. And we are reviewing mattresses available in the United States. You would have to contact Nectar about that. As for longevity, we did not see any "red flags" that would cause us to feel that it would not last as long as any other quality mattress. I hope that helps!

Curious? How commonly do you see online companies warranties cover over .75"? I generally see over 1". Wright covers over .5" for 15 years, which is probably the strongest I've seen so far. Amerisleep does over .75" for 20 years with the last 10 prorated. Novosbed does over .75" as well, which includes their Comfort+ kit as well, for 15 with the last 5 prorated. Those companies are usually stand outs to me.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Karayah -- Thanks for your question, and big kudos for all the homework you've done on this! The 0.75" level you referenced is the industry standard for all the largest manufacturers of memory foam mattresses (Tempur, iComfort, etc.). Certainly many online companies have followed suit with this, however I couldn't say off-hand which ones have and which haven't. What I would say is that in general, mattress warranties tend to be given far too much importance by consumers -- beyond 10 years, there is very little correlation between mattress warranty length and the actual 'comfort life' of the product. I hope that's helpful.

Thanks so much for all of your information! You have made navigating the sea of mattress purchasing less daunting. We bought the nectar, but I found as a ~100 lb. person, it was too firm for me to sink into. I have noticed this for many of the brands - their top layer is great, but then I hit a rigid wall. Have you gotten any feedback on beds that are better for lighter weight people, but allow sharing a bed with those that aren't? Thanks so much for all your education!
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +Shortstuffs -- Thanks for your kind words and sorry I didn't see this earlier. Yes, you are 100% right that at your weight everything is going to feel much firmer to you than it will to most people. So in general, you're going to be looking for something that has a lot of softness on top to give you the feel you want. In terms of finding a bed that you can share with someone heavier, the key will be finding one that has a lot softness in *only* the top few inches (which in your case, is likely the only part of the mattress you will feel), and then has much less softness below. In general, this is what "pillow tops" are all about, so that type of mattress could be a good match for you. The other thing you can do is get something that works for your partner and then soften up your side with a soft topper (it's always easier to soften up a firmer mattress than it is to firm up a softer mattress). In terms of online options that might work in your case, here are a few that come to mind that seems like that might work in your case: * WinkBed: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/winkbeds/ -- this one has that configuration I was describing above where there is some surface softness on top with some firmer layers underneath. * NewSleep Jerome: www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/newsleep-jerome/ -- this one has more of a soft floaty marshmallow-like quality to it that might be just soft enough for you but still buoyant enough for your partner. * Helix: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/helix-sleep/ -- this one actually allows you to configure your mattress differently on each side, so your side can have more softness than your partner's. I hope that's helpful.

Took 22 days to get this mattress from California to Utah, but about 7 could be subtracted had I not opted for white glove delivery. In retrospect I did wish I’d have used the money to talk someone local into hauling away my old mattress. Personally, I’d be fine with a two-week nonWGD arrival based on it’s popularity/backlog, rather than their very respectful but either duh or flat out lies during the wait. Had they not informed me of when it bogusly arrived at WGD which they refused to identify (because it really wasn’t there) so I could contact them myself, I would not have felt so frustrated. I don’t think there was any danger that they would’ve kept my money and I never got it. They also lied in their Facebook ad in the comments where they assured that the admitted slow shipping issues had now been corrected! They need to move some of their chat people over to the shipping department, because if it arrived sooner they’d save a whole a lot of chat time! I do feel is is well worth the money and they did give me a $75 refund based on my chat complaints about delay.

Hi Ata. Thanks for the comment. Both of those are all-foam mattresses, so neither may be what you are looking for if you need cooling features. I remember when my kids were little, they'd seem to be sleeping hot too-- but it never seemed to wake them up. I ended up using a fan in their room even in winter, which helped dissipate sweat and add some air circulation to the room. MIke's kids really liked the 5 Little Monkeys mattress though -- and of course it comes with that organic cotton protector and sheets. The Nectar, on the other hand, is made in China and contains nothing organic. So that might be a factor that helps you make a decision. You can also unzip the cover on the 5 Little Monkeys bed and throw it in the washer, pretty helpful for a kids mattress.

What are some of the more firm reviews you have done. When I bought my 12" memory foam bed I sent back what was more comfortable to me but I thought the 12" memory foam would last longer than the thin 8" memory foam that did feel firmer but who knows how long it would have lasted. Now I sink in and wake up with back pain and there are several ruts even thought this is only 2 years old. From my experience it seemed the firm mattresses were the cheap crappy ones.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +k ma -- Thanks for your question. You are certainly correct that there is a class of firm, thin mattresses that are "cheap and crappy" and will break down quickly. But unfortunately, there are also plenty of plush, thick mattresses that equally crappy and may break down even more quickly. This is because 1) quality has nothing to do with firm or soft, and 2) once you get beyond the absolute cheapest mattresses, the components that are most likely to fail in a mattress are its comfort layers. For example, plenty of mattresses in the $1,000 range use a solid coil unit but still use cheap and crappy foam on top of those coils (and lots of it, which only makes matters worse...). The bottom line is that gauging the quality and expected longevity of a mattress is not something you can do by looking at it -- you have to look at each of its components and identify the "weakest link" in its construction. That weakest link will determine how long the mattress remains comfortable and/or supportive, and finding it requires a non-trivial amount of technical knowledge of foam, springs, and the like. That is why we always try to educate our readers on such matters in our reviews. In terms of "firmer" mattresses we've reviewed, I should first clarify that we don't use the term "firm" to refer to the supportiveness of a mattress, because the supportiveness of a mattress is based on its ability to hold your spine in proper neutral alignment while you sleep, which will require different amounts of conformance for different body sizes and sleep positions. Rather, we use the term "firm" only to refer to how much (or how little) softness it has -- which is strictly a matter of personal comfort preference. With that being said, here are some mattresses we've reviewed that are available in a version that we'd classify as "Firm", listed in order of how similar they are to the feel of the Nectar in other ways: -- Novosbed: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/novosbed/ -- Nest Alexander Signature: www.goodbed.com/mattress-line/nest-bedding-alexander-signature-select-1/ -- Loom & Leaf: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/loom-leaf/ -- Eve: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/eve-sleep/ -- Saatva: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/saatva/ -- Spindle: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/spindle-mattress/ I hope that helps.

Hi, gm! First at all, i like your videos are awesome and helpful, i have a question, would u mind to tell me what are your top 5 mattress for side sleepers, and by the way , im weight 165 pounds and 5.7 ft
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Moises -- Thanks for your question. This is one that we get all the time, but I'm afraid there is no way to answer it because even amongst side sleepers of your weight, there are still numerous other needs and preferences to consider that would make a given mattress a great fit for one person but a poor fit for another. As an aside, any website that does list the "best" mattresses or their "favorites" either doesn't know mattresses well enough to understand this basic fact or is simply trying to sell you those mattresses (or very likely, both). The good news is that we have come up with a solution to this problem that IMHO is much better, which is a highly sophisticated match quiz that will first help you better define all of your unique needs and preferences and then will show you options from different brands (both online and nearby stores) that best match these criteria. Basically, it's a "Top 3" that is tailored specifically for you. If you want more than 3 choices, just click the link to see a longer list of options that are ranked in order of your requirements. You will see a personal match score for each option and can even click on that score to learn about the key factors in our calculation. If you haven't already done so, you can take that quiz here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/ I hope you find it helpful but if it leaves you with any remaining questions, don't hesitate to come back here and ask.

how do you think this mattress would be with a topper on it for an average size male side sleeper? I have a panda foam topper
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. This mattress comes in 3 different softness levels and the softest one is pretty soft (even the medium one is a "Medium-Soft" on our softness spectrum -- meaning just to the softer side of Medium). For an average sized male, even as a side sleeper, I would not generally imagine going softer than the Medium version of this mattress -- and that's without a topper. And as a general rule, a mattress without a separate topper will perform better and be less of a hassle than one with a topper. That said, if you order this mattress in a Firm or a Medium and it turns out to be too firm for you, then you certainly could add a topper to it. Just be aware that if your topper is memory foam, that will be a LOT of memory foam you'll be sleeping on, so while the pressure relief should be great, you might find that you aren't getting enough support under your hips to give you proper spinal alignment, even on your side. I hope that's helpful.

What happens in the event of a spill or a child who has an accident with this or any type of mattress similar? How do you get your mattress all the way clean?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Some mattresses, including this one, have removable covers, which makes cleaning the cover a bit easier. The cover on this one does have foam sewn into it though, so you certainly wouldn't want to throw it in the laundry. Alternatively, there are plenty of helpful videos here on RU-vid that provide tips for spot-cleaning mattress covers. If you're referring to a spill (or worse yet, a child's "accident") that penetrates below the cover into the foam, I'm afraid, you are going to have a much harder time getting that completely clean. In general, you'll want to invest in a good mattress protector to keep your new mattress safe from these sorts of things. And if the mattress is going to be used by a child, it should certainly be one that is waterproof. I hope that helps.

Saw this review and decided to give Nectar a try. Got and set it up today. Can't stand the off-gassing smell it has. Had to open a window and turn the air conditioning on full blast. Now the smell is all over my apartment. Instructions say it should dissipate in 1-3 days. I won't be able to sleep on the mattress until it does. So far it seems like it'll relive my neck shoulder pressure point problem. If it doesn't and the smell doesn't go away,I'll have to return it.

Hi there -- Thanks for your comment, and sorry to hear that the initial smell has been a problem for you. As mentioned in the video, in the one we received, we found the amount of off-gassing smell to be pretty typical of other all-foam online mattresses we've unboxed. That said, everyone differs in their sensitivity to this type of thing, and I don't tend to be easily bothered by it myself. In any case, I hope that it dissipates enough over the coming days that you are able to start sleeping on it soon.

Ended up returning it. Return Policy a hassle too. You have to donate it to charity and make sure the receipt specifies a Nectar mattress. It takes a while for most charities or Netar to come get the mattress so you'll be on the hook for payments until it's done. I had to close my debit card down because Netar was playing games with my refund. Saying that a leasing fee of $159 was non-refundable at first but then they refunded it. (Might've been a mistake but whatever...) I'm a side-sleeper and don't like the feeling of sinking into my mattress. You said those preferences might not make for the best experience with this mattress. Went against my gut and ordered anyway. Nectar just didn't help with my neck back pain, I couldn't stand the smell and it slept hot for me. No more foam, going hybrid from American Mattress or Mattress Firm from now on. Must test before purchase. Researching other GoodBed reviews....reviews are solid even if the mattress isn't.

Hi Saul -- Thanks for your question. This is a tough one to answer without a bit more information about you. Have you tried taking the quiz on our website yet? If not, I would recommend doing so to get a read on this. It will ask you a variety of questions to better understand your needs and preferences, which it uses to calculate a personalized match score between you and a given mattress. Once you've taken the quiz, you can go to these two pages to see your match scores for the Purple and the Nectar respectively, along with some explanation of how we calculated it: * Purple: www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/the-purple-bed/ * Nectar: www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/nectar/ Of course, if you still have questions after taking the quiz, I'm always happy to help.

We got the nectar and really dislike. Do you have any advice on the natural latex matress from ikea? I really liked your open, profession feedback on the nectar.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question and kind words, and sorry I missed this earlier. I'm afraid we have not done an in-depth review of any Ikea mattresses, so I can't speak to them in nearly as much detail as I can the many we've reviewed. That said, AFAIK, the only Ikea mattress that uses any natural latex is the Morgongava, which uses a blend of natural and synthetic latex. I'm not sure whether it uses this latex blend through the whole mattress or just in the top layer with standard polyurethane foam underneath. We list it as entirely natural blend latex, but TBH their website is extremely vague on this point. In terms of other feedback, we do have ratings from nearly 5,000 Ikea mattress owners that you can peruse and filter many different ways on this page: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/ikea/ratings/ I hope that's helpful.

Hi there -- Thanks for the heads-up on this. Nectar stopped using promo codes about a month ago, switching to link-based discounts instead. We had removed their promo code from our site accordingly, but had forgotten to remove it from the description of this video (which I have now done). At the moment, they are offering 2 free pillows along with a $699 price on their queen size mattress, which you can see here: www.goodbed.com/o/m/nectar/ For the benefit of other readers in the future, you can always check Nectar's profile page on GoodBed to find the best currently available discount: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/nectar/ Thanks again.

In terms of temperature, in your opinion which one sleeps cooler, nectar or ghostbed?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Nadia -- Thanks for your question, and sorry I missed this earlier. In terms of which one is likely to sleep cooler, I would give a slight nod to Ghostbed, principally because it has less softness with a little shallower cushioning, and as such conforms a little less closely to your body. This lower amount of conformance means that more of your body's surface area is in contact with the air, which allows your body to expel heat a bit more efficiently. Of course, keep in mind that for many/most people, sleeping hot will not be an issue on either of these mattresses (just as for some people it can be an issue on almost any mattress). I hope that helps.

I am returning mine because of edge support. If this is very good I don't know what bad is...fall off the edge of the earth? The price and build of the mattress seems great, but to me feels like soft clay which I don't care for. If u like that maybe its for you.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +eaglerockdude -- Thanks for your feedback, and sorry to hear the Nectar wasn't the right choice for you. In terms of its edge support, I would just clarify that we rated the edge support here as "pretty good overall." I think you may have gotten confused by the fact that we added that it was "really good for a memory foam mattress." This was a reference to what we explained in the very beginning of the edge support section (13:12), which was that edge support is "not an area where all-foam mattresses tend to excel." Nonetheless, I'm sorry that this important qualifier was not more clear to you. In terms of our choice to classify it as "pretty good" overall (as opposed to something worse), please keep in mind that these things are relative -- so for any given person, your assessment will be relative to your own personal experience. In my case, having tested many hundreds of mattresses, I would stand by this description. There are plenty of mattresses that we have deemed to have poor edge support (many of which are memory foam mattresses), and in those cases I am not able to lie directly on the edge at all -- which, as you can see in the video, I was certainly able to do on the Nectar. Lastly, if you're willing, it sounds to me like your feedback on this product would be helpful as a review on GoodBed, where people who are shopping for a mattress and looking for unbiased information will find it more easily. Here is a direct link to where you can post your review of the Nectar: www.goodbed.com/review-mattress/model/nectar/

In your video review you describe the Nectar as a little softer than medium, whereas your website calls it a medium-firm. Which would you say is more accurate?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Alex -- Thank you very much for your comment and for bringing this to our attention. I'm not sure how that got changed on our site, but we definitely classify this as a Medium-Soft on our softness scale, as described in the video. I have corrected this on our site accordingly. Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick response! For someone roughly your size who is a side sleeper, would a Nectar or Layla be a better fit?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Alex -- The Nectar has a pretty similar feel to the softer side of the Layla: -- Either of them could work from a spinal alignment and pressure relief standpoint for a side sleeper of my size -- Both have a Medium-Soft level of softness -- Both have a fair amount of memory feel In terms of differences, the Layla uses copper-infused memory foam, which offers some additional benefits that are not found in the Nectar, and is also flippable (to the extent you think you might ever be interested in using it with the firmer side up). On the other hand, the Nectar has a lower price (plus a larger discount at the moment). Your decision will likely come down to how you weigh those factors. I hope that helps.

I ordered this bed and it is hard. I have had it a few weeks now and it still hasn’t inflated all the way. The last 6 inches or so at the top and bottom of the mattress are lower than the rest of the mattress. The worse thing is that after a week or so of sleeping on this I have ended up with sciatica which is the most pain I have ever had to deal with in my life. I’m still waiting to get my MRI done to determine what is causing it. I have had to add a few inch piece of egg carton foam to try to soften it. If I wasn’t in so much pain I could research another mattress because I’m pretty sure that I will be returning this mattress.
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Trish -- Thanks for your comment. The situation you described with the head and foot of the mattress not being fully expanded yet sure doesn't sound like it's behaving the way it should, so perhaps you got a defective mattress. This could also explain why it's so hard. I think it's worth contacting the company and perhaps sending them some pictures of the mattress to show them what's happening. I hope that's helpful.

Why does my nectar mattress not have the same cover or same foam?
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Michael. It appears that Nectar has either changed some foams, or is re-naming some foams to make it seem that way. We're currently in the process of getting clarity from the company on whether the changes are significant. Sometimes a company may change foams because of a supplier or manufacturing issue, or maybe there are other reasons. About 75% of the time, the changes aren't significant enough to change our review, but we won't know for sure until we get confirmation from the company. We did note that the weight of the mattress has gone up -- which might indicate that Nectar is using some higher density foams. We'll be updating this page as soon as we can.

Hi Kenny. Yes, we did measure it, with a ruler, as you can see here: www.goodbed.com/reviews/nectar-mattress-review/ Did you measure it right out of the packaging by chance? It can take as long as 2-3 days for new mattresses to reach their full height after being compressed.

I thought the core on this mattress was a 2.2 lb density ?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +DJR5280 - Thanks for your question. Seems there are a number of reviews that have cited that incorrect statistic - unfortunately most of those are not trustworthy sources of information. Nectar, to their credit, was completely transparent with us, confirming or providing all of the specs we quoted in the video, including the foam densities. If you're interested, you can also confirm the density of the support layer for yourself by doing the math based on the densities and thicknesses of the other foam layers that we quoted in the video (including the foam quilted into the cover). The mattress weighs 74 lbs in total and the cover + fire sock should weigh about 8 lbs. I hope that helps.

GoodBed Let me ask you a question, I purchased a GhostBed and to make a long story short I decided I didn't like it. Natures Sleep offered me a Emerald line Mattress. It's a 12 inch mattress. I got the matttess and some spots are 10 inches while other spots are 11 inches. Natures Sleep is telling me it could take 3 weeks for the mattress to expand. Does that sound right to you or is this thing defective ? Thank you
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +DJR5280 -- This is a tough one for me to answer with certainty. I do not have any first hand experience with the Nature's Sleep lineup, so I certainly can't speak to the Emerald model specifically. One thing I can say is that of all the mattresses we've opened, we've never seen one take 3 weeks (or even 1 week) to expand to at least within a half inch or so of its full height. On the other hand, we have certainly seen mattresses take a day or two. All that said, I do believe that a representative from the manufacturer would be in by far the best position to know if this is indeed the case. On top of that, the only thing they stand to gain by misleading you would be to kick this can down the road by 3 weeks -- this doesn't seem like a very strong incentive IMHO. Net, I would give them the benefit of the doubt and wait it out a few weeks and see what happens. You and I might both be surprised by the miracles of modern mattress compression. :) Worst case, if it stays as it is, you will certainly be able to call them back and let them know with confidence that you got a lemon. I hope that helps.
