I bought a Puffy Lux and after about 45 days I have started the return process. Definitely agree it's not for stomach sleepers and I disagree about the pressure relief for side sleepers. Since getting this mattress I have had terrible shoulder and neck pain when sleeping on my side. I am 6 foot around 230 pounds. Hope this helps someone.

There was another review and guy mentioned that this mattresses are focused a bit more for people under 230lbs. I'm about 220 so I'm trying to figure out if this might still work for me. I'm glad they have 101 days to try otherwise it's no problem getting the money back.

@@yup95yearsago20 We found that it would be great for a side sleeper in your weight range, but not as good for a heavier stomach sleeper or back sleeper. I suffer from low back pain and sciatica since having my son. We had a plush spring mattress that had me waking up in a lot of pain. We started sleeping on our guest bed, a cheap, but firm, memory foam mattress, still waking up sore and stiff. I am a side sleeper and wondering if I should spring for the puffy lux or if it will be too soft for me. I am 5'2, 130 pounds. Any advice based off your review would be great. Thanks!

Hi Adriana. Ugh -- that sounds awful and so unpleasant. Sounds like you need something with better pressure relief. In our experience, pressure relief is independent of softness or firmness. You could, for example, find a firm mattress that has great pressure relief and a soft mattress that doesn't. Generally for those who need superior pressure relief, memory foam and latex tend to offer the best pressure relief -- but a mattress also needs to have the correct spinal alignment for you too. Have you taken our GoodBed Quiz yet? We designed it to gather the most relevant info about your personal needs and preferences and align those factors to beds most likely to fit those needs. We'd recommend you try that: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/quiz/ One option you might consider is a mattress than can be configured. These can be a good option for those whose needs may change over time. An example is the Spindle latex mattress. By rearranging the latex layers, you can change the comfort level. So if you try one configuration and find it too firm, you can switch around the layers to make it softer. You can find our review of that mattress here: www.goodbed.com/reviews/spindle-mattress-review/ Hope that helps!

can you put the puffy mattresses on top of a box frame for more height ?

Hi Norma -- Thanks for your question. You certainly could do that. You'd just need to make sure that whatever foundation you use has ample support. We'd recommend either a solid surface or slats that are spaced no more than 3" apart. I hope that's helpful.

Hi, how does the puffy lux compare to the puffy lux memory foam with coils? I don’t understand what it says on their website. My boyfriend is a back/side sleeper and I’m a side and stomach sleeper. Thank you

@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi Nora. Sorry for the late reply -- somehow I missed this comment. Have you see our written pages on those two? There, we include a detailed ratings breakdown by sleep position and body type. That means you can compare the two. Here is the Puffy: www.goodbed.com/reviews/puffy-mattress-review/ And the Puffy Lux: www.goodbed.com/reviews/puffy-lux-mattress-review/ In brief, we thought the Lux was a little better for side sleepers overall, but not as good for stomach sleeping. Meanwhile, the Puffy was solidly good across the board for most sleep positions. But do check out our ratings for yourself! Hope that's helpful.

I am a side sleeper that sleeps very very hot. Tried layla topper and visco copper topper. What can I do? Do all toppers and mattress sleep hot?
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Any type of material that has a lot of conformance -- where it snugs up against your body as you sink in -- can potentially make you feel hot. Since all toppers tend to add more conformance, on the margin, pretty much any topper will make the mattress sleep warmer than it would without that topper. Toppers made of memory foam, a material that you kind of melt into, can feel especially hot to some people for the same reason. Both of the toppers you mentioned are memory foam. Other options to consider would be latex -- with latex you get pressure relief, but not as much 'sink' nor as close a conformance to the body. Many find it cooler. Egg-crate foam is another option -- because of the cut-out sections, there's potentially a bit more air flow. FYI, we have a short buyer's guide on toppers that might be helpful for you: www.goodbed.com/mattress-toppers/

I am in the market for a new mattress, but there are so many on the market. Not being able to try the bed is worrying for me. I have back and shoulder problems. Over the last 10 years, I have literally spent thousands of dollars on mattress only to be disappointed. I am 6 foot tall and weigh 195 pounds. My wife is short, 5.2, and has hip and back pain. I primarily side sleeper. Thanks for the review.

Hello. Mattress selection is too personal for us to make any kind of across-the-board recommendation about a brand or mattress line (and in fact, ANY website that is telling you that such-and-such mattress is universally good for back pain is a FRAUD and just trying to sell you a mattress). Have you taken our Mattress Match quiz yet? We designed it for exactly this situation. Once you answer a few questions about your body type, sleeping style, and preferences, we can match up your needs against thousands of mattresses from both online and store brands. You'll get a "match score" for each mattress and specific notes about how a given mattress is likely to meet your needs, and it might turn up some models you haven't yet considered. You can also restrict your search only to mattresses available near you so you can try it in person. You can find the quiz here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/

@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Barbara -- Thanks for your question. We cover temperature in the section that starts at 21:16 in the video. I think watching that section will answer your question. In a nutshell, sleeping hot is a very personal thing -- some people will sleep hot on almost anything, while many others will never sleep hot. If you are in the first camp, or are concerned you might have a tendency to overheat if you are on the wrong mattress, there are certainly other mattress types that offer fundamentally more airflow and other cooling characteristics than you would get on either of the Puffy mattresses. However, if you are in the latter camp, then I wouldn't worry about this. I hope that's helpful.

Hey so I am about 6'2" and maybe 220. I get a little lower back pain when I sleep and am mainly a side and back sleeper. Was thinking of getting an adjustable base and the Puffy one is the only one that I have seen that has a money back policy. I was thinking of a king but maybe a queen. Wanted the adjustable base for mainly the zero gravity setting for better sleep. Really trying to figure out if the Puffy, Nectar, Purple or Ghost Bed is right for me but mainly, will they all work with the Puffy base? Thanks!
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi Walter -- Thanks for your question. All of those mattresses will work equally well with the Puffy base, so your key question will be which one will work best for *you*. Looking at the options you listed based on the info you provided about yourself, I would lean toward the GhostBed since it's the only one of those that utilizes higher-density (2.0 lbs/ft) foam in its base layer, which at your size would be a significant benefit for both support and durability. Here are our in-depth written reviews of all of those options: * Puffy: www.goodbed.com/reviews/puffy-mattress-review/ * Nectar: www.goodbed.com/reviews/nectar-mattress-review/ * Purple: www.goodbed.com/reviews/purple-mattress-review/ * GhostBed: www.goodbed.com/reviews/ghostbed-mattress-review/ Re: the Puffy base, I certainly agree that a full-money-back return policy is a pretty incredible offer, and it's not one we see very often on adjustable bases. The only other one I can think of that has such a policy on their adjustable base is Nectar. Coincidentally, we've got an overview of their adjustable base that will be coming out this weekend, perhaps as early as tomorrow. In the meantime, you can find out more about their base here: www.goodbed.com/o/p/407301/ I hope that's helpful.

@@goodbed Extremely helpful, thank you. ISo many choices haha. I was actually pretty set on either a Puffy or Purple but you think with my height and weight, the GhostBed? 6'2" 220, I have a slim build but wide shoulders so though I prefer side sleeping I would think with the zero gravity I would be doing more back sleeping? To alleviate lower back pain and acid reflux.
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
@@walterwhitewalker526 Glad that was helpful. Given the added info that your build is more slim and wide-shouldered, this would lessen the advantage of the GhostBed in my mind, but I might still lean slightly in that direction overall based on the info I have. That said, I'm not suggesting that you eliminate the other options if you had other reasons to go with them, and it's possible that the Purple would have a slight edge for back sleeping and the Puffy or Nectar might be the same or better for side sleeping. Hope that's helpful.

What are the differences between a Sealy a Posturepedic Grand Avenue 14" Cushion Firm Pillow Top versus a Sealy Posturepedic 14" Humboldt ltd Cushion Firm Pillow Top Mattress?
@goodbed
@goodbed 3 года назад
The difference is that they are sold at different stores -- one at BJs and one at JC Penney. It's very common for Sealy to make slight design variations and give a mattress a different name -- then the store can sell it as an "exclusive". In reality, the differences are likely small -- different cover fabric, maybe a slightly different foam. Hope that helps!

@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi there -- Yes, it would. Your weight is the most important factor, but your height and body shape will determine how and where that weight is concentrated, which will matter as well. I am 6'0" and not quite 200 lbs. So for someone who is 5'4" and 200 lbs, I would have similar recommendations as for someone that is my height but is 25-50 lbs heavier than me. I hope that's helpful.

how does it the lux compare to the casper wave
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Ralph -- Thanks for your question. I would say that the Puffy Lux and Casper are pretty different mattresses. While they both contain some memory foam, the Puffy Lux is much more of a "memory foam mattress" than the Wave. Meanwhile, the Wave has some more unique features that defy classification. If you haven't already, I would certainly recommend watching or reading our equivalent review of the Casper Wave. My husband and I just got the Puffy Lux a few days ago. I reviewed all the new on-line companies to the point of excess. After narrowing down to 3, my husband was pleading to pick one. We are in our later 60’s and my husband is about 250 lbs. with a history of back surgeries and I’m 5’2” 125 lbs. with neck issues and two shoulders, (and occasional back pain)that had injuries in the past. So, myself being a side sleeper with multiple pillows, and my husband that sleeps every way but on the stomach, he’s happy and I am not. Three nights my shoulders hurt into the next day. I’m trying to find different ways to find comfort but here’s the problem,,,,,if we want to get a refund, we can’t get the mattress into that box, haha. Puffy will help to find some place to donate it then we’ll get our money back. This is way to annoying, Our other mattress was donated and we would be back to square one. I do believe aside from the shoulder issue, I would be comfortable.
@NiniRockX
@NiniRockX 4 года назад
@@carolmessina1437 I think it's not the mattress problem. It's a stretch problem. I do not know your health, but many believe a mattress could put the pain away. Are you working on your fascia? And sleeping on the side is usually not healthy
