I used a 1911 45acp to save my life and a couple fellow soldiers over 50 years ago in Vietnam. I sleep every night with the very same gun..I have a pretty nice collection also but it's my warm fuzzy
How much were your mods roughly? I have a Colt Delta Elite that's over 30yrs old. I'll definitely look up your guy Ned Christiansen. Do you know of any other gunsmiths that are known for their work.
