This scene was a flashback, he actually stumbled into their camp heavily dehydrated and got knocked tf out. He was trying to rob them of medicine to bring to his sick wife. Actually quite a sob story
@@babyelephant3077 Any man who wants to save his wife would do that Negan really tried to not tell them, but he had no choice. It was either sell out afew strangers or let your wife die. Its also not like he didnt go back and help them after they were taken. I think you worded his actions wrong, He didnt do it to "save his own skin" he did it for his wife
@@babyelephant3077 not that you are wrong but the gang wanted information you can be loyal you may not want to sell or spy on some body but if you get tortured enoght like negan did physically and emotionally then your probaly gonnna sell out no matter how much u want. And if you dont you probally be dead wich is not my concern but negans case his wife dies wich she did.
He wouldn’t have made the connection yet, it’s just bad writing/directing to appease fans. “Hurr durr it’s that thing he always carries! Look how happy he is to finally have it!”
In the comics, every group or person that stuck with negan died stupid deaths so he got tired of their stupidity and left them, i guess based on that its the same here
The blonde was one of Negans lieutenants, she had joined Alexandria after the Saviors were beaten. She was still alive in the show (or maybe died the episode before) when this episode came out. In short I'm pretty sure this group ARE the saviors, just early years.
@@Jamie1X no this are not the saviors early status cuz at first he tried to rob them and they still gave him the things he needed including this bat with that he got knocked out
@@paulysmallz8095Nails could get stuck deep in the target and make it hard to recover for the next swing. Barbed wire will just tear the flesh. Plus it makes glancing blows more damaging. Oh, and it adds to the intimidation factor.
@@MickMcGarnackle Also I'd assume installing the nails might crack the wood, hence weakening the structural integrity of the bat as a whole... though I guess that might be looking too much into it.
@@alexandrecordier hah u must be thinking u're automatically an adult once u hit 18-21? or do u live in a country where people still have no beard with 15-16? must be one of those
Yeah they sure did until Negan used power and control to rule to keep everyone alive. I’m sure it progressed worser as time went on but had to survive by any means necessary.
I was happy when negan got rid of him only cause i felt Glenn got boring at least for me in the first 4 seasons he was good after the 4th season i got bored
@@Stealth482 No, the Whisperer's girls Name was Mary. This woman is Laura. She was a high ranked Savior and after All Out War she bacame a council member in Alexandria. But she gets killed by Beta when he sneaked into Alexandria after she tried to save Mary. I just watched this episode 5 minutes ago lol
Two things I don't like about this: 1) If Laura was so important to Negan's origins then why wasn't she a more prominent Savior throughout seasons 7 and especially 8? She should've been a lieutenant instead of Regina. But I guess she didn't wanna be a leader? Maybe she was safer at the Sanctuary closer to Negan. She definitely needed more screen time given how important she was after Rick's death. 2) I think the Morales bat theory made more sense and would've been cooler. In Season 1 episodes 2 and 4 Morales uses a baseball bat as his primary weapon against walkers. And since he ended up joining the Saviors then it would've been cool that he offered the bat to Negan as a thank you for saving his life and taking him in. That way upon rewatch we would see Lucille be a part of the show all the way back in season 1 and unbeknownst to Glenn and everyone what that bat would end up doing almost 2 years later.
I think the Morales thing would've been a really cool little twist, especially if the writers had planned it out from the beginning and dropped an easter egg in season 1
Crazy to think she was one of his luitentants right? So he went back to these guys and that's how his group started. Seems like it was as innocent as Rick's group. That's why I love negan. Hes really just as bad as Rick. Except for the burning and torture. The rest wasn't that bad comparably. He was just the bad guy from our groups perspective. Amazing writing
@@vegitohaze2081 keep telling yourself that. The random people they never met at the satellite station and killed in their sleep might have a different opinion
John Winchester dies, The Saviour Negan is born.. Born outta the Ashes of The Winchesters, no wonder Negan was literally born for TWD. I was so gassed when i 1st saw John as Negan, i still am
I amazed that he’s kept that bat in such good condition all those years and that it hasn’t broke or snapped when hitting walkers or people must be very good wood then
I'm pretty sure it was there was a ton of iconic stuff that was sold. daryls bike, Rick's gun, Morgan's staff, michonnes sword, and I'm pretty sure quite a few other weapons that were used by the characters as well as clothes and other things from the show
Only thing that held 'Here's Negan' back was the use of flashbacks and flashforwards. Apart from that, the episode was pretty much perfect. So glad we got to see his first kill.
Neagan is the greatest and JDM absolutely owns the part like Hugh Jackman owns wolverine. And that knock knock scene in dead city sent shivers down my spine, long live neagan
If it wasn't for the COVID-19 pandemic completely changing the way most TV shows handled their upcoming seasons, we wouldn't have gotten the 4 bonus episodes at the end of season 11 of The Walking Dead. One of those 4 bonus episodes was the very final one, entitled "Here's Negan". One of the absolute best in a while.
