People are missing the point of this scene. This scene was to showcase Negan as a master manipulator. I think this was beautifully written. Look at the control he has over these girls. He doesn’t lift a finger to them and yet they are scared shitless by him. They know they don’t want to be here, but Negan probably gave them shelter and comfort in a scary time. The blonde obviously has feelings for Mark but chooses to be with Negan. That right there is one hell of a manipulative villain. It’s brilliant
Holy crepe! They stay with him or otherwise he puts them and or their family or actual boyfriend to work another job, to work on the fence as a walker.
"neGAn anD RiCK arE ReaLLY JuST thE sAMe!" This scene is one of many showing why the whole "If we saw Negan's point of view from the beginning, he would be the hero and Rick would be the villain" idea is dumb
@@Blitz-dm3kv if you follow ANY character and enslaving people and sleeping with women that don't want you 'makes sense', you're just.. Wrong. Rick and his group never did anything half as horrible as Negan, can't believe people are even debating that
You clearly don’t know Negans origin. Negan isn’t really a villain but not a Hero either. He became this Sociopath you see here because it was the last resort he had to keep people alive
@@RoyLevan yeah... Rick did that same thing too I think it was brought up in season 9 After killing Shane Rick became a monster because he had to keep Carl and Lori (and Judith once she came around) safe
Joseph Taka exactly, now i think we can all agree Negan was way worse then that but thats purely because he lost himself within this system he had set up. There was no going back so he just sticked with it
@@jefry8393 The leather jacket = cool The motorcycle = cool The murderous temper driven manipulative man holding woman as an harem of hostages = not cool
Now I know this wasn’t the point of the scene, but the way he says, “Amber, baby,” makes me feel all kinds of ways. What a voice Jeffrey Dean Morgan has
You know Negan says he doesn't tolerate rape yet he pretty much ends up forcing these girls to have sex with him by threatening to kill their spouse or bfs or family if they defied him and broke the "rules".
eternallegacy89 You must not have paid attention to this episode. He gives his wives the choice in the video. He says they can leave him but they would have to go back to earning their stay at Sanctuary, because being his wife means they don't have to do anything, they just stay home and wait for him. But they don't wanna earn their stay. And he has ONE SIMPLE rule: no cheating. But he doesn't threaten them to stay. He said in the episode if you would've paid attention you would've heard him say that they are free to leave whenever and he would never hurt their boyfriends or anything if they leave him, because he can just replace them. His only rule is no cheating i mean why would he want one of his wives sleeping around? She could get an STD from someone else then give it to him. That and he's territorial. Lol.
chiwawha Still he twists things, he knows that they won't choose that however. And instead he can just kill because he wants to, besides he plays psychological games too.
Diablo Pesina and sure he isn't actually all that bad, he is the necessary evil in the Walking Dead but still he does go far beyond the extent most people go or even think of.
@@IEditTLOU_I think he knows that he's just saying that negan is a hypocrite with his whole you can't cheat on me considering he cheated on his wife Lucille with her best friend
No. This guy is. He is real and didnt wait for the Apocalypse to make him a Warlord or King or steal any wives or join a cult. He just said I want to marry you-you and you now take a knee..😅 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-27FEKSOWRVs.html
This perfectly illustrates the whole concept of him giving people a choice basically. Either be his wife, he’ll never harm you and will look after you in sickness and in health. He won’t force you to have any sexual relations with him too. But if you don’t want that, you can go back to his whole point system where it was just like the pre-apocalypse. Points is essentially the new money system... if you don’t have enough, you can’t afford to buy your essential supplies. I say it’s no different to the pre apocalypse because people were 100% struggling financially then. And I bet the reason why Negan says the point system is hell is because supplies are limited af. So you gotta work hard to get them. That’s no ones fault but the apocalyptic worlds fault.
2:07 Negan - "I ever hit one of you?" Wife - "No. But I know you, there's worse!" Damn that interaction felt so real right there. Some incredible acting and scripts in The Walking Dead.
The Batman I won't tell you everything because not everything relates to this scene but basically before the the outbreak, negan would cheat on his wife, and she ended up developing cancer and negan felt really bad for cheating because he realized that he has been cheating on his wife as she was slowly dieing. But anyways she does die right as the outbreak is happening and negan sees her turn into a walker at the hospital. Oh and then he names his bat after his wife... So he's obviously been having trouble with the lose of his wife... That's why he has so many wife's, that's why he doesn't want them to cheat and that's why his bat is named Lucille.
Can't believe people here are calling Negan misunderstood and are sad for his story with his wife and acting like it explain the things he does kkkkk 😑
Exactly! When he was cheating on her in the first place. He only felt sorry after because he learned she had cancer. He was sleeping with her “best friend” nonetheless🤦🏻♀️
We all know now that it was Negans Red Scarf that made him evil when he takes it off hes good but when he puts it on hes not Negan anymore he becomes The Red Scarf Man
John Dean I’ve seen the theories that he wears it when he knows he must kill, yet he didn’t wear it for his masterstroke ambush and got his throat slit and he was acting pretty evil about to kill Gabe in cold blood.
I have a feeling that Dwight will actually be the one to kill negan in the later spin-offs even tho he’s redeemed I believe d will get revenge somehow and be the one to kill negan weather he’s good or bad
Negan is misunderstood quite a lot. Although he kills and manipulates people, he isn't completely evil. He tried to apologise to Carl about his eye. He apologised to Olivia for calling her fat. He even says that anyone who attempts rape will be killed. He has standards, at least.
you guys are so retarded you actually think he's genuine about these things. he's just good at manipulating, he reads people and then toys with their minds to get what he wants
Negan doesn’t lie. Well, he does to Alpha of the whisperers, but that was a good thing. He’s been genuine about really everything. Even the no exceptions thing in the premiere 😉😉
The best thing about this show is every single scene is rich with high key symbolism and drama. I'm not sure if I got every single hidden meaning out of this scene.
She can't cheat on him but he has like 15 wives so that's not cheating?🤔🤔 (Edit- Holy shit i have never ever in my life got this many likes on a post ever thank u guys)
what if his first wife was secretly alive like Rick Grimes was.....all it would take is one look from her at him saying, "Honey, what the fuck is this" and Negan would disband the herum immediately, he wouldn't have the balls to cheat on her....she was Negan's only real wife
Holy crepe!....you have much to learn you ignorant asshat, only a dirtbag thinks other human beings are property....who the hell do you think you are? wait never mind, it doesn't matter who you are because you are just a dirtbag
I really love negan in dead city and have always found him hilarious but god I can't get past this. he's technically not forcing the girls to do anything but if they don't stay with him they will get treated the same as the others at the sanctuary. Idk if their loved ones would be hurt because it sounded like that would only happen if the girls cheated and I can't remember if he said that, but it's still such a fucked situation. negan would absolutely be one of my favorites if the writers hadn't done this
It's interesting how he gives the girls chances to go but they keep staying. So she gets punished not necessarily for cheating but as a reminder this is the selfish path she chose. He offered to give her and parents an easier job. But she lived comfortably at the top with him.
Yeah I get wanting to keep his character on the show and all. I mean he’s my favourite character too and Jeffrey Dean Morgan does an amazing job but honestly after all Negan did how could people like Carol, Daryl etc. ever forgive him. Some people are annoyed at Maggie for not forgiving Negan but what would they do if the person that sadisticly killed their husband or wife in front of them, is still alive and not in prison either. Let’s keep Negan sure, but why try to make him redeemable? Just acknowledge what he did and go with that. Not every character needs to be a saint. It’s TV. We can root for people we’d never root for in real life.
There's a lot of booze in the world man and alcohol is about the easiest thing in the world to just make from scratch. But the beer thing is weird. I figure all the beer would have gone flat by then, it's been years into the apocalypse.
It’s clear that sherry hates negan and of course negan knows that. Sherry made a smart move by leaving the sanctuary or else dwight probably would have killed her who knows
Michael well if you knew his backstory, he actually cheated on his wife and she died of cancer. He felt terrible because he realized he cheated on the woman who loved him as she slowly died, so he got a bunch of wives so it's not "cheating". Id rather kill myself than be negans wife.
gor9027 He offers them the choice of being his wife and a life of comfort vs. working for points in the Sanctuary. They can leave if they want, but they can't cheat on him. I think you push Rick just a couple notches and he'd be Negan.
Agreed. Both are interesting leaders with character flaws. While Negan's methods are more sadistic and he puts his people in tough situations, I actually think Negan is a far more diplomatic leader than Rick. In the S7 opener, he could have killed Rick's whole group for killing off dozens of his men at the outpost but only kills two as punishment. Rick would have definitely slaughtered everyone if roles were reversed.
I wouldn't mind so much being one of his wives . Sitting in comfort and luxuy. not having to go out and fight walkers every day just to survive.. and Negan wasn't that bad looking in his own way.. He had a real presence about him ..
I thought here Negan showed Carl around was trying to say : See, I am not a monster who is killing for fun, I have people actually live here, if you tell them there is a maniac outside who kill bunch of people here everytime they go out, no one would stay here, no one would feel safe and do anything
Because he is a villain done right. Villains should be likable and so you as an audience member interpret them as a villain through their actions rather than being told a character is a villain and having it forced down your throat over and over.
@@ju4300 its it wrong that I want to join the Negan's Wifes Squad I mean I'll be the youngest women ( Im 20 but I look like I am at least 15 to 17 years old )
