Completely agree but also think he should no longer be a cop. Officers like this are the cause for all the calls to defund the police. Well in the case this specific officer does need to be defunded.

@@trollhunter8148 Reality here, based on her property survey, she owns the land. The city confirmed that. He infringed on her and charges should be laid for for making false documents of a survey. You don’t nail something on the neighbours house either without their permission. He is trespassing. Also you don’t use your position in the police force to intimidate people. So many ways to see who is wrong here. People have rights to protect themselves. The sad thing is the city should have figured this out for themselves. There can’t be two surveys, one right, one false. They should not have sided with a neighbour, without checking further and issuing a permit to a perpetrator. She informed them and it took going to a third party to resolve this issue.

Some of the most egregious police behavior does not even result in a one day suspension. And...often the same officers are promoted within a year or two.

It could happen because of a car accident or illness, my youngest resident in a nursing facility was 4 months old (she was on the pediatric hall) , she was never going to be able to go home because she needed 24 hr. nursing care. Why is that guy still a cop? These things he's doing to his neighbor are big red flags as to his character. I'd contribute to a fund for her to build a sturdy fence at her property boundary, and install streaming cams. "Sturdy" would involve a high cement wall with rebar and security cams. She could get a permit if needed. Evil me thinks she could paint his side with prison bars, Disney princesses or Warner Bros., while reasonable me shouts "Don't do it." No malicious acts on her part, to prevent any possible lawsuit, just paint his side to look like a boring, neutral stucco or something. A cop threatening to contact the police, who he has connection in, to press charges against her, for trying to remove a severe safety hazard illegally placed on HER property, is a conflict of interest, a misuse of power and in and of itself should have gotten him fired.

News media should've done a FOI request at the officers hq. Tell a supervisor about the story and ask if they'd had any complaints against him. She needs an attorney to go after the neighbor for damages, and she needs to get a court order barring him from her property.

@@ES-7766 Fire code has to have a second exit - normally a window. I have seen places for sale with 2 bedrooms, and then 2 "bedroom like" rooms. The "bedroom-like" rooms did not have windows, so legally could not be called bedrooms, and legally should not be used as such - as it is a fire hazard. This is an assisted living facility - he put all of their lives in danger. Had a civilian done this - they would have been in jail.
The police department that he works for needs to do an urgent psychological assessment on this person as his behaviour is far from normal and could lead to further antisocial actions against others
He needs to be criminally charged. If he is in jail for a while and loses his home, maybe the new neighbors can figure out how to get along better. But once he is gone, she needs to fence in her property from the front edge of the house all the way around and make damn sure it is EXACTLY where the county says is her property line.

The thing is, he is just the tip of the iceberg. His department must be rotten too if he has been getting away with this stuff. IA needs to do a thorough investigation, or some higher law enforcement officers. Either way, the whole department needs to be investigated and cleared of the rot.
