I purchased one of these years ago to rescue the quad bike when bogged. Have never used it and the instructions were destroyed. I thought you weren't going to show me anything in particular and then i heard you mention the 'little spring!' Bingo! Got it released after fluffing about for ages. Would never have thought that little spring could be simply pushed down to release the spool. Thank you very much!
Notice he never mentioned using it for truck recovery! Lol More than likely, after lugging it around for a couple of years, the one time you need to depend on it......FAIL! Good for wheelers, but that is about all!
Don't buy it if you plan on using it more than a few times. I purchased two of these and they have issues after about a year of weekly usage. The first one is stuck latching (can't release it), the other is completely worn (brass components.)
thats good to know it worked more than adequately for what i used it for and haven't needed it since. I am the type of guy who would spend a lot on a quality one if I used it like you do for sure, thanks for the heads up
@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP No problem. As far as I can tell, the only "quality" come along out there are Wyeth-Scott come alongs. But they all cost $400+ new. Someone should come and produce a good tool for a reasonable price!
I bought one to carry in my truck too. Only it's very difficult to get the cable unwound. Did you oil yours or anything to make extending the cable out easier?
Basically, it's just another limited, low quality Chinese product that will let you down when you depend on it the most! Experience life, people, and learn from the past!
