Two people who love the sound of their own voice more than anything else 😂

I love it when two people can have a heated debate and vehemently disagree, the hit the off switch and return to civility.

For someone worried about people being sensitive, Bill M sure is Sensitive.

The issue with just using hormone levels for sports is that hormones are not the only difference between the sexes. Biological males have an advantage with lung function, reflexes, bone strength, bigger hands, etc. To reduce men and women to merely hormones is ridiculous. He is a scientist and knows this.

The best point made by bill is that we’re all human at the end of the day and when we treat each other as equals the rest won’t really matter.

Watching Bill Maher get triggered by "get off my lawn" has to be one of the biggest ironies I've seen and heard in a long time.

Actually one of my favorite Neil interviews. Just two guys who don't necessarily get along on everything just talking it out and having a chill time.

Towards the end when Neil talked about Stanley Kubrick saying his movies are meant to show what we need to avoid in the future. I immediately thought of the first season of Black Mirror. Those episodes where absolutely chilling and scary. Showing what could happen as the technology we use today keeps morphing and expanding into things that don't seem very far fetched anymore.

Bill you sound just like my dad used to about my generation when I was in college. I'm 70 years old.

Neil Tyson must understand that the moment he cares more about not hurting his fans feelings over presenting scientific facts, he stops being a scientist and becomes an activist, and don't get me wrong, you can care about people's feelings but sooner or later you must choose between those two things and even if you go all the way to don't say things that would make people angry or trigger, the truth is nobody and I repeat NOBODY can make everyone happy, there is going to be always somebody who doesn't like what you say even if is a scientific fact and that includes "fans" (And let's be honest, if those so call fans get angry if he says the "wrong thing", they weren't fans in the first place). And most importantly, in a free society, NO ONE is above criticism because that comes with our right of free speech.

I really enjoyed watching this conversation. How sad that I watched this and thought it to be an anomaly. I totally remember a time where this type of exchange was the norm.

I would literally pay $100 to watch a 3 hour debate between Bret Weinstein and Neil Tyson on the vax, on how cv-19 was handled, MSM, and the falling confidence people have in most institutions.

Never been a big fan of Bill. We’re on different sides of the street but after this interview, I know. That, even though our streets have different twists and turns it still leads to the same place . I respect him.

It's funny how they're fundamentally saying the same thing on most things, but they're both not listening because they want to come out on top, lol. Best friend potential.

Bill has his mind up and nothing can convince him

Bill, I am not married, but I have a Man Cave! It's a shed refurbished into a music studio, gaming room, music room, and a place to relax away from the main house. My cave! I spend most of my waking hours in my man cave. Man Caves are NOT just for married men wanting to get away from their spouse or family. It's a sanctuary and retreat for a man to do whatever he wants for whatever reason. It's alone time or it's time well spent with friends...and yes, family too. But it's his cave and everybody respects it as such. However, let me be clear...I don't call my man cave a disco! LOL! Who am I? Absolutely NOT John Travolta!!! Peace and Cheers! I am also a long-time fan--I doubt that I've missed one of your shows or specials in two decades. So, take me at my word. I'm in my man cave right now! Booyah!!! 🤩😎

The funny thing about this convo is this is the perfect pairing of people to talk to each other. Just the right amount of charm and intellect to balance out the extremely pompousness and smug attitudes they both have😂

Tyson is like the kid in 7th grade that made being smart his whole personality

I really enjoyed the jabbing of each other's perspective and professions. While I agree with Neil on a lot of the topics I still love Bill's perspective and quick wit. Bill is turning into Clint Eastwood from Tarino but with more jokes. I would love to see Bill go out there to those college crowds and win them over with his amazing humor that's been bestowed upon us over the decades. Be a hell of a challenge and I imagine some great jokes would be made. Most of all. I was glad to a rational discussion at club random. Cheers gentlemen!

Bill is the man of the year!! His position on not doing college shows, on why the students are like they are, and not allowing Tyson to call him an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn was the best two minutes of any conversation I've heard in years. You are super gifted Bill, and you do the hard work to know what you believe to be true and communicate it. Outstanding!!!!

The gender discussion was fascinating. As in, it’s fascinating that a grown ass man who’s a renowned scientist struggled to comprehend how a man and woman are physically different.

Love to see these demonstrations of bright, knowledgeable, influential, slightly opposed yet candid and real discussions. And real friends too!

Bill is a bit self-absorbed and sometimes doesn't let the other person talk or finish, assume things and move the goal posts to try to score a goal. All Neil was saying about sports and trans is true, and he uses sports because it's the only area where trans really is a problem (just because sports have been segregated in two). He explains himself so clearly in the short clip with Ben Shapiro (because he had a chance to talk). That video of 6 minutes is the best take, the more ground to earth and truthful way of seeing the trans issue. There's a biological fact about our species being binary (and the exceptions are so rare that they don't matter in this issue, Bill Maher had no reason to talk about the exceptions, Neil was not talking about that). But there's also the fact that people express their identity on a spectrum, sexual or otherwise, because it manifest itself in reality (Neil's words). Now, if those facts need to be taught in a biology class or a sociology class, let's debate about that. But there's not debate to be had about those two facts. It's really only in sports that it's a big problem and the solution is not obvious nor easy. Toilets is more of a cultural thing.

Maybe what we need are more documentaries on space, a Ken burns one on ethics one on different kinds of government, and what they entail how they come out ,how they end up, and a reshowing of roots. We all sat down with the whole family to watch that.

Bill missed a golden opportunity to address all the recent serious injuries that females have suffered at the hands of biological males including the most recent incident of a girl getting her teeth knocked out.

I love the podcast, Bill. @48:15, FYI, the Lincoln-Douglas debates didn't happen in 1860, and they weren't regarding the presidential election. (POTUS candidates didn't debate publicly until the mid 20th century.) They occurred in the mid 1850s, and they were debates related to the Illinois state election--which Lincoln lost.

I find it immensely fascinating that the man so against eye witnesses and subjective opinions would have such a strong opinion about transgender issues

My sister is never wrong about anything..... IN HER MIND. Funny she was born on the same day as Neil, who if you notice is never wrong about anything and will argue he's right about everything. I like Neil immensely. I'd love to put him in a conversation with my sister. What a hoot that would be. And congrats Bill for calling Neil out on being WRONG on a number of points.

Man, the respect I have for Bill after watching this is off the charts.

Anyone that actually studied the human body for at least a measly associate degree can name off more than a few differences between male and female outside of hormones. One small example, the differences in pelvic bones is more than just "one can give birth and one can't.". Have fun learning
