Two: when the most inaccurate thing in the movie has a bunch of botanists coming out of the woodwork and saying "well... you've done a good job with this improvised hydroponics system, but that's a pretty optimistic schedule for growing potatoes from cuttings," well, you've done a good job with the science.

@@baplotnikquantum literally has a definition... and essentially it means the smallest amount of something. Quantum physics- atoms and sub atomic particals. And considering there is no unified theory that bridges the gap between quantum physics and classical physics on a macro scale... there is a purpose to distinguish between them, and the reason quantum mechanics exists - the mechanics involved at atomic and sub atomic scales are DIFFERENT. I find it hilarious the absolute confidence you brought to your comment. And "Ideas" doesn't even make sense.

I think this might be my favorite episode of Hot Ones. Neil is really down to earth (no pun intended) and very charismatic, but you can tell at the same time he's very knowledgeable and wise. I learned more than I did in any of my science classes in the span of 20 minutes, while also laughing and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Robert Rush Because questioning for the sake of questioning is stupid. Good questions come with scientific evidence of a possible contradiction - which is why people ask MORE questions the more they know, as opposed to being ignorant. Neil said his education system wouldn't have people making these questions because they would be smart enough to have the scientifical knowledge to know that these theories are bullshit.

There are countless children being taught nothing but bullshit these days and the ones that teach it pass it on as scientific fact. How can we expect them to make the distinction when they've been taught wrong all their lives?

I think this became or has become such a topic when truth/fact became subjective (aka alternative facts). We can all agree "oh sky is blue" and I can be that one guy "nah it's red." Sadly with enough influence and followers there's going to be others saying "red too."

My first science teacher in high school was much like Mr. Tyson and he made you want to come to class because he made learning a lot of fun. I really enjoy listening to Mr. Tyson on the science channels because he makes learning fun and enjoyable. Watching this episode was both fun and enjoyable. Mr. Tyson tells it like it is and some people can't take that. Shalom

I admire Neil so much. Where he comes, his impact on society, his way to explain things, but most importantly his likeable person. He has so much character and I find it so comfortable just to hear him speak.

Neil is the type of a teacher you are so lucky to get even once in a lifetime. He makes science, which has never been a strength of mine, exciting, less intimidating and you just can’t wait to learn more from him. I really loved this episode.
