I agree about Neil Innes -- it's inexplicable to me that he has never become a musical legend, or gotten a true renaissance and major CD reissues. He's a musical treasure still waiting to be found by most people.
I don't believe that he wanted that sort of fame , he was just happy how he was . Imagine being in his own group then involved with the Beatles and a Python member . Goodness knows what other creative endeavors he was involved with .
been singing this song to myself all morning, as well as libido... how does he do that, write all these songs that just penetrates your brain and never leave? but I rather have his songs stuck in my brain than your aviridge normal mtv-song. and those eyes, like a little puppydog! aaaw
Innes may not be "new" to me but I I no idea his catalogue was so deep and intriguing. This song could have be written last week. Thanks Mr. Innes, may you rest well.
@TomRaymondUK You have? I've watched all of Season 1, the first episode of Season 2, and the Christmas special, but I couldn't find any more Season 2 episodes. Where did you find them?
Poor Neil. He's a national treasure in his own way but he will always be McCartney to Viv Stanshalls Lennon. He is a tunesmith but that's where it ends. Stanshall was a bona fide genius.
