Amazing performance of Neil Peart performing the iconic Rush song "YYZ" with the Buddy Rich Big Band 🔥 What's your favorite Rush's song? 🤔 #shorts #drumchannel #drumming #musiceducation #rush #neilpeart
The mighty Jeff Berlin!! Go check out One of a Kind by Bill Bruford. Drummer of Yes with a Yoda level group of masters. Jeff Berlin on Bass, Dave Stewart on keys and the unmatched Allan Holdsworth
I play alto sax and the register is to high. Also the sax section only has two tenors and no alto, baritone ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cNjAMm1EXsk.htmlsi=HGtrrWUFME0Mn29n or soprano sax. ru-vid.comokv919qJo7U?si=9pNGNv-kXao5bnt8
many thanks to Neil. He is one of the few who really brought drumming to new levels, inspiring kids to do so much more with the kit than just time-keeping.
If Geddy and Alex were actually to reform Rush, the only like-aged drummer whom I think could begin to fill the void that Neil left behind is The Police's Stuart Copeland -- no one else that I can think of comes anywhere close
@@shruggzdastr8-facedclown they shouldn't “reform”, but instead start an entirely separate musical project with Copeland. I will always regret not seeing a live Rush show, but seeing those three playing together would certainly be the next best thing.
@markbrown6778 Ahh, nope. Buddy was my first idol. Once I saw Neil? Changed. Did Buddy play anywhere near the amount of percussion instruments? Not even close.
What an honor to be there with the Buddy Rich horn section . One can only dream of being there filling that seat but there he is ,a legend. Truly missed but not forgotten.
Lol you dare to say that when Neil is playing with the band of the greatest drummer of all time. Jazz drummers always will be better than rock drummers and this is coming from someone who loves Rush.
@@katarzynab946while jazz drumming is definitely the hardest but buddy rich was not as good as you think he was just good at marketing and promoting but obviously hes still good af
He was and always will be one of the greatest. As skilled with words as he was with the sticks he will be missed. He left but as long as his recording and videos motivate existing drummers and inspire new drummer to pick up drum sticks he will never be gone.
Freaking love this. Just the best thing to find on a Friday afternoon nearing the end of a very busy week. So clean, precise and musical. Always loved and respected the dedication to perfection.
must have been tremendous pressure for the bassist, kudos to him for having the nerve to do it, seems Neil was gracious about it :) , I wonder if this was before or after Neil decided to change his method and relearn, what an artist he was :)
The bassist is Jeff Berlin, and he probably could play this song in his sleep. This was before Neil switched or at least he's not playing traditional grip in this. I don't think he ever played songs in traditional grip if he wrote them originally and matched grip.
This is FUCKING LEGENDARY!!! The Professor's Greatest Gig. Prepping for his Greatest Gig Ever. As we shall soon hear. Through All Eternity. RIP To The Greatest Drummer EVER!!!
WHAAAAAT??!!!! So freakin cool!!! That soprano sax is sweet!!! Now I have to see the full show! I played bari sax in my high-school jazz band in Montréal in the mid to late 70s, and we were really good... Not to mention huge RUSH fans. Our repertoire consisted mainly of Maynard Ferguson arrangements and we practiced with the records until we had the tunes down. Our teacher, Robert Jodoin, invited Buddy Rich to do a show with his band and we got to meet and talk to him and the other pros after the show. For aspiring dedicated teens it was intense!!
Neil was, I believe, one of the driving forces behind the “Burning for Buddy” recordings. I love his drum set here - not his standard monster, but a tribute to BR. Legends both!
It amazes me the different type of musicians that redo a Rush song or musical piece, stay true to the piece, but completely change it up. Feels like a Monty Python, And now for something completely different. Raise my glass to the Professor!
