Neil Young performs "Don't Let it Bring You Down" at the Farm Aid concert in Seattle, Washington on September 18, 2004.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

It's crazy how I'd listen to this beside the 1971 BBC version. There are not many musicians who I'd listen to a version so many years newer and love as much as

How can he still sing so high? I've lost my upper register with age as most people do -- Neil is magic. This is one of his best songs IMHO. Sounds like he's lowered the open tuning to a double C?

That's always been his voice while singing, he doesn't stress to do it. I don't know anything about singing, but maybe some people just have it built in. It always seemed since I was a kid that it was just so natural to him. He wasn't trying that's just what it was

This was one of the first songs of Neil's that blew me away, from the BBC 1971 concert version. I think the first was Little Wing, from Hawks and Doves, that just connected with me then, as a young lost soul, and still now it means something, if nothing else does!
