NEMA halts Pozzolana mining in Harugongo sub-county 

The National Environmental Management Authority has suspended the mining of Pozzolana in Harugongo sub-county, Kabarole district. Pozzolana is a mineral used in cement processing. Abasi Balinda Transporters Company Limited, the company operating the mining project, has been accused of not possessing the required mining license. The suspension of the mining project followed a complaint from a tourism investor at the Kyaninga Tourism facility about noise pollution
