The dark red brown dwarf is scary alright because of the stripes that look like an insect's rear part and the fact that it is barely visible. It could be in the sky and go unseen for a long time. When I was a kid I thought that planets like these could come at night and fly through the sky. It doesn't look like blood to me. It glows on a monitor screen from the inside and blood is more like an ordinary brown stain.
@Goodwalker720
@Goodwalker720 7 лет назад
j7ndominica0 a red dwarf is an actual star with fusion occurring, it could be invisible in the visible light range but would be obvious in the infrared range. A brown dwarf is just a gas giant that is so massive that the gases are heated by its own pressure and gravity, eventually it could cool below what we are able to detect.

I like Velociraptors idea, with a bit of a twist: are we sure that Sedna is in an actual orbit? Since we have not been around observing this long enough, could it still be a rogue passing through and we are assuming its in an eccentric orbit or is it just Sol system purterbing its fly-by?
@gemmasterian4496

I am sorry to say this but no because we can clearly predict orbit and speeds and Sednas not going fast enough to do that without a lot of help.

Could you run this again with Uranus having a normal tilt. Fling Nemisis through the Sol system again, to see if it is possible to keep Uranus in orbit with Sol but is "knocked" sideways?? Interesting to find out if and how it would be possible to knock a gas planet over.

I heard about groups of kuiper belt objects that had similar orbits suggesting an outside influence, but it seems to suggest something much closer and smaller. Also, if the sun were to be a binary star, would we be able to detect a difference in velocity for that wide an orbit?

According to the theory,Nibiru or Planet x is what would cause extinction
@I.amthatrealJuan
@I.amthatrealJuan 8 лет назад
No, although the purported are similar, they are not the same and is only similar by coincidence. The Nemesis hypothesis were really postulated by scientists during the 1980's to explain the apparent regularity of mass extinctions on Earth (which it by itself is under scrutiny) over millions of years as stated in the video. It does not postulate that it would get closer than the orbit of Sedna. On the other hand Nibiru is a conspiracy theory that was proposed by people in the 90's who claim to have received extraterrestrial communication that a rogue planet will pass by very close to the solar system and disrupt or collide with other planets. The last part of the video coincidentally shows what Nibiru (as Nemesis) was supposed to do. Since Nemesis was proposed first, maybe Nibiru is a sensationalist by product made by conspiracy theorists to scare people off.

I dont think so. Because... Why dosnt Nemesis effect other planets, why it just effect Sedna? And if Nemesis dance with Sedna in an Orbit like that, how does it manage to hold the opposit orbit position of Sedna? Because both, Sedna and Nemesis would get speed on there Orbit if they are near Sun. And if they are far away, they slow down. So if Sedna is near the Sun, like now, Sedna is very fast; but Nemesis far away is very slow. Moreover there is something around the Solar System called Local Fluff. Nemesis in your Version would leave the socalled Heliosphere of our beloved Sun. I think Nemesis now could react with the gases out there in this Fluff-Thing and than at last it would glow, so we would see it. But... Im no Scientist. Just my 2 cents.
@I.amthatrealJuan
@I.amthatrealJuan 8 лет назад
As stated in the video, this is a hypothesis and people who search for this have not found this thing yet if there is any. Look, gravitational attraction is inversely proportional to the square of the distance so distant objects like Sedna would be affected much more easily than the planets which are much closer and even if both are on the opposite sides of the sun. The Local Fluff is a low density cloud of hydrogen and helium spread over several light years. It is far too diffuse to have any gravitational effects on objects we're talking about. The heliosphere is a magnetic region where the solar wind is dominant and have no effects whatsoever on the gravitational field of the sun.
@I.amthatrealJuan
@I.amthatrealJuan 8 лет назад
Remember this is just a hypothesis. It has not been proven and may never be proven at all.
@DesaMii
@DesaMii 8 лет назад
Er... what? You are mixing up everything. Im not talking about any gravity effect of the Fluff on anything. The gas would collide with Nemesis and head it up, becaus of the missing of Sun's heliosphere shield. Or would do something else. Anway, we would registrate this. Not you and me, of cause, but you know, telescopes and everything. And in this special version shown in the video, the solarsystem with every single planet is all the time between Nemesis and Sedna, so of cause it woul be effected and if both, Sedna and Nemesis would be on one side, they could calculate it all the more. So, yes, thats just a hypothesis, maybe there is something... but not in this way, I think.
@I.amthatrealJuan
@I.amthatrealJuan 8 лет назад
Even if the Local Fluff is a very hot cloud of plasma, it is so tenuous that negligible heat transfer would take place. That is why the Voyager 1 which is outside the heliosphere is not burning up. If what you say is also true then why arent we able to detect volatile comets from the Oort cloud found in the same region as Nemesis slowly heating up and evaporating. The ISS and the astronauts are found just outside of the atmosphere and the temperatures there could reach thousands of degrees and yet they dont burn up even if the density of gases found there(>1 Million molecules/cm3 just outside the atmosphere vs 0.3 atoms/cm3 in the Fluff) are greater (meaning more heat transfer) than that of the Local Fluff. The Local Fluff itself is barely detectable, how much more difficult would detecting its minuscule effects be.
@I.amthatrealJuan
@I.amthatrealJuan 8 лет назад
+DesaMii Now, talking About the gravity of Nemesis on the planets. As I have said before, the planets are much closer to the sun so the gravitational dominance of the sun is much greater which would make the planets much less susceptible to perturbations than objects more distant to the sun. That is why the video shows the orbit of Sedna being constantly changed and wobbling while the closer planets are not really perturbed.

Also you are think of Planet 9, Nemesis was pretty easily dunked and debunked. They ain't got no new IR signatures in our solar system.

isn't the whole 500 million years of extinction total bs?
@ValaAssistant
@ValaAssistant 7 лет назад
tell that to all those thousands of species a year dying from mankind alone, at this rate, we are causing the greatest extinction event in all of time on this planet
@bizsquarepb1073
@bizsquarepb1073 7 лет назад
We as a specie have always been a major key in animal extinction. We've always been. Now we could control it.

this hypothesis is just like my own purple-star-that-creates-supermassive-black-holes, stupid. maximum amount of planets is affected by amount of stars in a solar system. something like 1 star= 9-10 planets. 2 stars= 5-6 planets. 3 stars= 1 planet. and four stars and up, zero. so, how could we have both two asteroid belts, (kuiper and the regular one) a big cloud around our system and an extra gas giant? that needs more gas than we have here. only close to the centre of our galaxy do we have enough. and there life could get as complex as here and 1,5 LY away gravity would not be enough to hold a planet orbiting.

Interesting that you State that most Solar systems only have one star .while my college class teaches us that there is more binary or more solar systems as the common. Ours is not, so it's most likely nemis could very well be our planet 9, dead dwarf sun. That doesn't even give of infrared light, may be smaller then Jupiter, has as much gravity as Jupiter or a bit more. In a closer orbit then you showed here. Why this a theory ? Because in all truth we DONT may never know how planets work or sun's it's all Theory. A scientific best guess..which will change again..and again..

if Nemesis was Planet 9, we would have easily detected it, but no signs of any Light from a Red Dwarf or Neither a Brown Dwarf, and no, Black Dwarf Stars don't exist yet, they can only from when a Stellar Core cools down
