I have been wanting to try an o-ring, and it looks like this may be the board to try since that foamless o-ring mount sounds pretty solid with those Owlab Lattes!

Picked up one of these just to try it out and it has honestly become my daily driver ever since. Got the pom and Fr4 plates and I have to say, with only plate foam and the Fr4 it sounds incredible. I am really loving the direction this hobby is going in terms of what you can get for the price. The gap between high end boards and so called "entry level" boards is getting smaller every day. Inwas looking at the choice65 a few weeks back until o came across the neo65. Immediately knew this was the one on a budget. Going to end up with multiple because I can't decide. It reminds me so much of the Envoy but better value. Love that copper weight.

Is there something wrong with all foams? I'm pretty sure this hobby blossomed in popularity because of people uploading their all foam Creamy/marbly /Thocky builds ASMR sound tests videos on all socials and hence a lot of us got sucked into this rabbit hole, atleast that's how I've found myself into this.

Na it’s all preference, enjoy what you enjoy that’s what make custom keyboards so fun. I think from a reviewers standpoint a lot us have become foamed out haha. You notice the sound of each case and sometimes some foam is better than just stuffing the thing 😂

@@grubbygeorge2117 That is very unfortunate, Imo I believe newbies generally get attracted into this rabbit hole because of "Thock" and the amazing mods that make keyboards sound like Marbles. I can't really wrap my head how that will go out of trend and be something to be sorry for even wanting to be a preference. Here in my country, our main social hub is thru Facebook and a lot of keyboard modders are earning a lot of money thru commissions and it's always all foams. I also personally rock 2 alu kits, Monsgeek M1 wireless and Cidoo v75 and it's always just a pleasant experience just typing when it sounds like bubble wrap.

Probably, it was pretty high pitch already with CF and Lattes foamless. I don’t have an alu to try but Neons pretty much clack on anything lol

I wonder if there is some misunderstanding? it seems that latte switch comes from qwertykeys, and neo65 is made by a sub-team of qwertykeys, not neo studio?

So the Latte Switch is by Owlab and manufactured by SWK. These aren’t included in the Neo65 at all, just my switch of choice for the build. Let me clarify though, Ultimately QwertyKeys is a sister company of Owlab. Different owners but shared resources and aspects of production. Neo65 is designed by Neo of Neo Studio and fulfilled by QK. There’s a closer relationship between QK & Neo than Owlab, but all under the same umbrella from my understanding.

It truly does depend on your switch , the Owlab Latte used here isn’t even long pole so the possibilities for clack range far from this example lol.

Softness of the typing feel, the gaskets are much bouncier than the o-ring when I tried it. The o-ring was more stiff

This is a sure step up in functionality and customization. With keyboards though, it’s often less about what you should by and more about what you want to buy. Are you for sure looking for a 65% or are you open to other setups? Reason I ask is because there are a ton of great boards coming up

How is CF plate sounding fuller and less pingy than other plates in this lol

The CF being a stiffer material os probably amplifying some sound. Considering the single piece case design, 1.6mm PCB with no flex cuts, and people running an o-ring mount I'm thinking that people are trying to apply things from other keyboards to this when they are just not the same. Most the other boards are 1.2mm with some rype of flex cuts, dual peice case design, and poron gaskets or silicone plugs. Plus some reviewers, one in particular, used a really quiet switch and then said it was quiet lole thet was shocking. I'd suggest not taking reviews on sound all that seriously.

its realy anoying that all the reviewers say that its an 80 dollar keyboard but build it with carbon fiber plate so its 105 dollars and they never build it plateless which is the most unique thing about this board

We only review one PCB config each because they’re prototypes until the actual sale starts. The plateless build is only recommended with the solder PCB. I preferred a hotswap personally since I wanted to display the oring - an option that is just as interesting if you ask me
