Without a guide, without a porter and (almost) without problems - that's how we conquered the Three Passes Trek including Everest Base Camp. 211 kilometers, around 12,000m total climb, 28 days in the Himalayas.
After we entered India on October 12, 2019, our first stop was Kathmandu to equip us with the necessary hiking equipment and to extend our visa. After a successful shopping tour we went on to Salleri, where we left our car to do the Three Passes Trek on foot. Before that, however, we had to do another 65km from Salleri to Namche Bazaar, the starting point of the Three Passes Trek.
In Namche Bazaar we started the Three Passes Trek counter-clockwise. A 130km hike on which we visited the busy Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,652m), crossed Kongma La (5,535m), crossed EBC (5,364m) and Kalapathar (5,648m) of of our to-do list, crossed Cho La (5,420m) and its slippery glacier, admired Gokyo and its beautiful lakes and finally let the view wander from Renjo La (5,360m) on Gokyo and Everest.
As the last stop after returning from our trekking tour, we headed for Pokhara.
