Have you ever thought about the One who created you, who created man, the animals and the plants, who created the heavens and the earth, the sun and the moon, who created the night, the day and the sea, and who shakes the earth? when he wants and reveals it to you? Did you know that Islam is the true religion of God? What is the benefit of this life if you are not a Muslim? Why did God create us if we don't worship Him? The religion with God is Islam. How do you meet your Lord after your death when he asks you about Islam? Did you know that Islam is a religion of mercy, happiness, love, tolerance, cooperation, justice, benevolence, equality among humanity and obedience to parents? Did you know that Islam prohibits murder, injustice, deceit, envy, transgression, theft, lying, usury, bribery, adultery, the consumption of alcohol and drugs and everything that exposes a person and destroy it? Did you know that everything in Islam is positive and everything that is said negative in Islam is a lie from other people and religions who want to distort the reputation of Islam? Did you know that Islam gives women full rights? Did you know that in Islam your life changes for the better? Did you know that the prophet Jesus recommended following the prophet Muhammad? He said, "He will come after me." Did you know that God gave the prophet Muhammad everything related to past, present, future and post-death revelations? So this is the Islamic religion that you don't know. If you read this post and think carefully about my words, answer my question. Why do you teach and know the truth and don't want to convert to Islam? The concept of poor is not the same in many cultures as it is in Western Europe and North America! People are not poor simply because they don't have a fancy house and fancy possessions. When people have a decent and functional house to live in, food, healthcare and education, necessities, family, friends, community, etc., they are not poor!

I visited Tashkent back in 1982. I went on an organised trip and flew from London to Moscow and visited Bukhara, Tashkent, Samarkand and Leningrad. It was my third trip to the Soviet Union. I traveled with my brother and I remember my Mother crying before we set off on our holiday thinking she’d never see us again. Lol. I was 21 years old. In Tashkent I remember women upon seeing us smiling to show off their gold capped teeth. It was the height of fashion for women in Tashkent to have gold capped teeth during that time. Stalin move around many ethnic group all over Russia...mostly because they do not want that particular ethnic group to rised up and rebel, not because they look like something else...that is why he relocated many Crimean tartars to Siberia because if the Tartar stay at Crimea that are near to Turkey they might rise up and rebel. Same with Circassia people who forcefully kick out from Circassia and many today like in Syria and Turkey. Only the Chechen stay and fought long enough until the Russian gave up lol.

I love the inclusion of Gena on one of the mural edifices. 💓🐊 (13'34") Your approach to respectfully honouring the collective efforts of Soviet peoples touches my heart so deeply. ...and your aunt's family's apartment is stunning. Thank you for your beautiful heart, a heart I see reflected in many of your posts ❣️💐🤩

Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated with Central Asia. Often I would dream of it's place in history, the Silk Road, and the allure of it's mysticism. What was it like living in the moment, as Paul Cooper of Fall of Civilization would often put it. Now as a middle aged, I really need to fulfill this childhood fascination before I'm unable to, physically. Great video as always, Eli. I love your aunt's perspective. She has such a wonderful soul, adventurous like yourself. Only thing missing is you meeting with Kostja from Inside Russia and members of the Tashkent Breakfast Club. That would have been a great added bonus. ❤

Every one of your travelogues is better than the last, Eli. It’s hard to believe you don’t have an entire crew working with you. As for plov, I’m happy to report New York now has a Tashkent Market with take-out plov available all day long. 😊
