I wish more videos showed different varieties of the same plant side by side like this. Thanks so much! I bought catmint for the first time this year, "Walker's Low."
Walkers “Low” is very deceiving in its name. Thankfully I saw your video before buying. I love the Cats Pajamas but no garden center carries it any where in my State for the last year. Great comparison video & because of that I’m a new sub. Ty again
This was very helpful. I just planted a grouping of Walker's Low, and was still wondering if should have planted the Cat's Meow instead. Now I'm happy I chose "Low," as it's a large area to fill!
Interesting to see these in your garden since I also live in mid Michigan Zone 5b. The nepeta walkers low gets quot a sprawl going in my yard, closerto 36 inches. I just planted cats meow this year so will see if it stays a little tidier. Might have to see if I can get my hands on some cats pajamas to try as well 🤔 thanks!0
Salvia have pointier ends and more vibrant…. Catmint more pastel and fluffy ends and cats love cat mint…..Russian sage and lavender I can agree both look similar I can’t help you there for that one
If you observe the leaves, growth habit, bloom structure, and color varietiation among other things you will see the differences. Or better yet, try growing one of each!
I wish I watched this video before plating catmint in my garden. I planted Walkers Low catmint (the most common variety in local garden centers), and regret it a lot: it’s grown over 2 feet in a month, looks messy, and after rain it’ laying on the ground. I should have looked for more compact variety of catmint. Definitely getting rid of ugly Walkers Low.
