One thing I noticed is that your sensors are pointed up. This exposes the back of the sensor to the water first. I am just beginning to work with these sensors, but I noticed that most of Amazon listings have a very specific notice to not expose the back to water. I have the same problem with my ddr, I think there is a problem how they are wire, one of them is invert...that’s what I think. I send my ddr for repares because one of the optical was broken, also addressed this problem but got it back with the same issue.

Great video as I am setting up my new dream reef tank. Instead of fmm module can I use the pm1 module for these sensors?

Dont see any videos "about this lil guy here" that you mentioned you would make. I'm wondering because I'm using switches to tell a neptune solenoid to let my gravity drip open and I also want to use one to fill my containers from my rodi bin. BUT... THE NEPTUNE IS NOT what I want to use... because it's actually open by default and uses power to close it... which means it's sending power 95% of the time.. to keep it closed.. and then turns OFF to let it open for filling. Which is why it overheats and breaks. AHH... I see u mentionedcat end that its flood guardian.. solenoid you use... which I'm not sure if its default is closed or open. Maybe a 3rd party always closed solenoid would work in an outlet. I have my gravity topoff valve before the solenoid set to drip just a lil faster than evap rate.. SO, if it dies.. my tank will only be getting a drip topoff.. Oh.. I guess I could put another solenoid in that just sits there open and only shuts when an even higher sensor is tripped... like in the case where the first solenoid dies and the drip fills the return too high. Failsafing failsafes... that's reefin. ..and you damn right... it ain't easy. You should make another channel.. Reefin aint cheap...and use a name that rhymes with yours... wear Kent Clark glasses .. and say you're brothers. Good vid. Thnx.

Send the broken optical sensor back to Neptune and they'll replace it...
