As a train driver who drives the proper route, used to drive the full route and drives the 175 very regularly, I'm crying with laughter here! 😂 2G52 starts at Cardiff not Maesteg. It's never a 175. It'll never go this way to Cheltenham because it's FGW territory. To stop the horn press the yellow button in front. The Severn Tunnel (roughly 4½ miles) goes under the River Severn from Wales to England. Yes, that's about all you can see in a tunnel. The single bore tunnel is Patchway Tunnel. I'm glad to see the blue lights, which indicate to freight drivers when you're nearing the bottom of the tunnel, and climbing out again. The scenery is 99% made up. I'm sure you've probably figured some of this out by now (it's been a while - blame Stuart for your discovery by me) but had to mention it anyway 😂 BTW, I have a full, official manual for the 175 ;) Excellent and very funny. Loving the fact that you got re-routed through the Severn Tunnel due to engineering works when, currently, the tunnel is closed for engineering works. Also, as a regular commuter through Cardiff Central at that time of day, that service doesn't exist. The closest would be the 07:05 ATW service to Cheltenham Spa, which starts at Cardiff Central. This would most likely make the train on the other platform the 06:55 GWR service to London Paddington. Both those services usually use platform 1. Would be very interested to see a simulation of the valley lines, but handling a train every 5 minutes in each direction is probably too complicated for it.

Nerdcubed that long tunnel is actually a undersea tunnel so,when you got off the long tunnel,your already in England so that short tunnel is still in North Bristol

I think Arriva Trains Wales have heard the news that southern rail are the worst train company and are trying to overtake them.....thats the only explanation i can think to why they decided to pack me on a two carriage train each morning (which used to be 4) and has come late 92 days in a row and counting (yes im counting)......sigh.....also nerdcubed doing a video kinda about south wales....woooo

I'm sure someone else has told you this, but the long tunnel with the blue light was IKB's Severn Tunnel, is is over 2 miles long and goes down, and then back up. The blue light is at the very bottom, where down stops and upgrade starts.Justtrains version in Western Mainlines has the Severn Estuary with the suspension bridge and water above.

Train Simulator 2018 has been released today, or as an update to owners of the previous versions which only changes the year and the menu screen, but i still love Train Simulator for all the content avaliable and it's very fun to play everyday, just waiting on Dan now to do a video on it this year. ;) I think Dan would love the Super 47 btw, that would be so cool if he drove it.

I'm still waiting for the day when you have to actually manage MU connections and set up DPUs, make sure that you have sufficient pressure through the brake pipe and equalizing reservoirs, proper slack action physics et cetera. Basically, everything that Run 8 is. You also went into emergency because you didn't reset the alerter and the PCS opened and the air dumped out of the brake pipe.

Ah, Wales. A beautiful place. Pain in the neck to navigate if you don't live there, but in a beautiful way.

I like to imagine that Dan is astral projecting and his mostly unconscious body is just limp in his seat.

It's an Ariva train, people would expect them to be late!! And tht wasn't a half bad representation of Cardiff train station either!! As for representing the city... it's pretty awful :D
