Great video, ty. A warning. I was looking for that 2nd data panel and it isn't there; however, while poking around all over looking for a 2nd data panel that doesn't exist, it is possible to fall into the top of that broken Nav Beacon satellite and never be able to get back out. Relog and you are totally inside it. Have to use Horizons to get out.
@@intergalacticGM I just tried it 2 days ago, looks like for Impact Site, Quitting to Desktop works, I usually walked out of the restricted area around the satellite so that I didn't have to wait 15 seconds before being able to quit because I was in "danger". I was doing this in my own Private group, but solo should work too. I did not try in Open.
What do you mean by mode switching? Sounds like switching from Open/Prviate/Solo? If that's what you mean, then what does that do for somebody? What does mode switching do for you?
Mode switching most commonly refers to logging out to main menu and logging back in again. The mode no longer matters, so logging out of solo and back into solo is all that is needed. Long ago the mode changes did make a difference, they no longer do. Mode switching or logging refreshes the instance and the loot, however, FEDV have nerfed the ability to do this on POIs and at ODY settlements - you can relog but all loots are gone. Only logging that works at POIs now is to quit to desktop and relaunch game and log in. Not really worth it IMO.
@@R3PER ahh, I was reading too much into the name. Cool, thanks! Yeah, I've been doing desktop logging honestly. The alternative is flying around and finding another impact sight that also has the correct crashed nav beacon (or whatever it is), so still a lot faster. I do wish frontier hadn't ruined this though... Main menu logging is still so so much faster.
@@R3PER I have found that leaving the surface, super cruise to orbit and then dropping back in works just fine to reset loot. I have been doing it the last couple days problem free.
@@tct72 Cool. Thanks. Did not test the SC and re-drop method. Just wanted to make sure to let folks know they could no longer just log to main menu and back in. o7
@@R3PER For hard to get data like what's at these satellites, it is def work it from a time perspective. Nothing even close to it if you have to get 60 Mfg Instrs, 25 Operational Manuals, and 25 Stellar Activity Logs or something like that.
Just ran a test run. You are correct. Totally nerfed. Satellite remains, but stuff and data is gone. Sad really. With so much broke stuff, they spent time on this. Will be removing video.
@@HologramGaming788 Great idea - Done. Yeah, checked out the irregular markers, but a work-around is - take a mission to "Hidden Cache" and as long as you don't pickup mission item, you can switch and grab all the weapon schems you need ;)
@@R3PER yes, just tested it, it should work with collect an item from an impact site too. Will test later. I have collecting smear campaigns in the same way as long as you don’t collect the mission the instance resets
I believe it's not nerfed but it's broken. It's the same on several settlements in which the materials are gone due to a bug, like in Dav's Hope. In odyssey there are no materials, the settlements are in the wrong side of the planet, the terrain are at different level due to the changes of the "new" planetary tech and several other broken stuff. For raw materials, since the launch of odyssey, all crystal forest and crystal shards are missing but I saw nothing from FDev, not a single mention about the broken state of the farming of materials! The grind itself is already a pain and now after the patch 6 it's even not working at all 🤦♂️
I'm so happy that i have not bought this odysseys expansion, the grinding is just so stupid. That's just pure crazyness, shame on you frontier, if this is the "gameplay".. like yamiks said.. 27hours just for the suit upgrades.. what's the point here. I'm playing other games now.. have spend 880hours with elite horizons, most of it exploiting this kind of loopholes and bugs.. Thanks for the video.
Elite has always been grindy, but I have 6 grade 5 suits all fully engineered, as well as all the weapons to G5 and engineered 4 weeks after release. I enjoy playing, and took missions that gave the materials I needed. But it is sad that the only way to get some things is to mode switch, but having played Elite for more than 10,000 hours (played since release in 2014), I am used to it.
@@R3PER I have 5000 game hours give or take... a lot of that is tabbed out and browsing the web. Nevertheless I've been involved in some serious BGS wars as well as a bit of PVP. This is a very relaxing game.
I surrendered to engineering now im just using material generators and hacks to get evrything. If someone wants to do al the grinding then go but i wont give frontier my time.
