Heck yusssss! I don't think I ever made it past S=12. There is was 8 yrs old... It was 1988. I had my first beer and case of crabs. Those were the days
When my parents first bought the NES back in the mid 80’s, they also bought Super Mario Bros, Tiger-Heli, and Section Z as my first 3 games to go along with the console. I remember how blown away I was with these games. Compared to the 2600, these games were almost arcade level quality.
One of my favourite NES and very first NES shoot em ups I bought!! Not widely known unlike Gradius or Lifeforce Salamander and this game is abit of a dark horse to most except an elite few that come face to face with this masterpiece! Only Abbdox could be better but harder!! Still those graphics and the music take me away to a happier place or time!!
True story. In Jr. High some skinny white kid that I didn't know was yelling obnoxious things at against the girls we were playing volleyball against in P.E. class. After the game was over I pulled him to the side and told him to cool off. After class was over, and I still don't know why, that same skinny white dude motioned for me to come over to where he was standing. He wanted to show me what was inside his gym bag. Inside he had an N.E.S Max controller and a copy of Section Z. I thought to myself, "hmmm we have a seasoned gamer here." 33 years later and we are still best buds.
Look how cropped the end credits are. In the Famicom Disk System version, they scrolled, and the music was placed a bit differently. There were also messages that said "Caution: Attack the Heavy Destroyer". Other than that, it is identical to this version.
Capcom was a terrific publisher back in the NES heyday. Capcom made awesome games. The first two Capcom titles for the NES were “1942” and “Ghosts ‘n Goblins” are horrible, because Micronics was the game’s developer that made them,
those Nintendo Power's were absolutely necessary, I remember studying them and solving the puzzle step by step...trying not to lose all my energy on the way!
have played this long times, trying to make some maps to try to finish it, as i was maybe 12 years old, and never finished, my game has been lost by a friend. Thanks for your share, and gg for have finished this! ;) And, i've go to sector 59, but never passed this boss. i've believing there is 99 sectors, something like this. I didn't figure sect59 was the last one... :/
GREAT GAME! I thought you was going to die on section 45 when you used missiles and used up most of your energy. Great game play killed them bosses fast. And how to no what portal to go through I remember going to the wrong one and put my levels backwards frustrated me. Had to take notes on which one to go through and which one not to go through . But love this game. Back in the day when I beat the game I was happy .
Spent an entire summer trying to get to the end of this game, ASSURED that the final level was "Section Z." This dispels a falsehood I have carried with me my entire life.
I like that old-school nes sectionz and the original arcade sectionz 1984 and nes sectionz 1986 are very good year and 1984 is a very good year better than the year 1980
My brother and I made a map on which portal to take. Top or Bottom and where each one took you. Ridiculously hard game if you didn't know where you were going. Hell, it's a hard game of you DO KNOW where you're going. Lol.
At 15, NO internet, NO map, NO hints Beat the game. It took me 4 hours straight getting lost OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER one day. I never gave up. Hours went by. I lost faith there even was an ending. But I eventually did it. Oh the feeling of beating a game, borrowing just the cartridge from a friend with no manual....... NO internet...... NO map....... NO hints...... Just willpower and faith! lol
Manual says that main character is Captain Commando. Captain Commando would later star in his own game, which takes place in the future of Street Fighter/Final Fight universe. So does Street Fighter 2010. So this game also takes place in Street Fighter universe? ...It's all connected...
Makes sense as both games were developed by Capcom. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same composers for the earlier Mega Man series composed the music and sounds for this game as well. Back then, publishers were known to recycle sound effects across most of their library of NES games.
@@stinkypinkeee5085 And while guys like you that play games have an IQ of only 1 what's with your RU-vid name anyway what are you some sort of pervert 😂
This fucking game. I played it a bit, but my older brother played the shit out of this game. I used to watch him play and I remember he was so fucking close to the end. Like actually at the end. I watched play it to the boss battle. And he died. He slammed the new controller to the ground and said 'Fuck this game'.
This NES Version looks like Side arms rather than the arcade version of the same game. The shooter mode is good but RPG Element really turn the game upside down
