NESPRESSO Essenza Mini - Step by step disassembly and fix 

To everyone watching this video that has a LEAKING Essenza Mini: At 15:37 you can best see the mechanism. The part that is inside that cups the conical end of the pod (you can see it move forward when closing the lever) can be taken off with a plastic tab on the top and the bottom. It's basically the 'breech'. Once that is out, you can remove and clean/replace (mine just needed a clean) the O-ring at the rear of the 'breech' and the metal spring washer (looks like a piston ring) from debris. That clears the mating surface of the seal. When you put it back in, make sure that the gap in the spring washer faces 'up' (towards the lever) and the little 'ramp' on the breech module faces down, it can only go back in one way. This immediately solved the problem with my machine and this disassembly video was invaluable! Thank you!

Thanks for the great video, really useful. Just dismantled and cleaned my machine thoroughly. For reference and to assist others, this machine is also sometimes called a Magimix M115 on the label underneath, even though it's Nespresso branded on top. This is the case with mine but it's identical to the machine shown in this video.

After trying in vain to find a service manual for the Essenza Mini, I came across your video, and loved the way you didn't edit out the difficult time you had in actually opening the machine! Thanks so much for the video, I wouldn't never gotten the machine open if it weren't for you :) In my case, the machine just needed a cleaning of the inside grille connecting to the tap. After years and years of use, it was a bit messy. Well, _quite_ messy. It didn't help that I had made a few experiments with different brands of coffee and chocolate... lots of residue had accumulated which required manual cleaning. Still, I think it's a bit stupid, in terms of design, to require opening so many parts just to do a _bit_ of cleaning!... alas, I guess that's the compromise you need to do to get one of the smallest capsule machines out there (and which is so useful if you have not enough kitchen space to spare!) Now all I need to fix is the small plastic thing that connects the water tube to the capsule container... a pity that your video just showed where it is, but not how it is fixed/attached. I might have broken the plastic accidentally - but I have no way to know, without a clean shot of how it is _supposed_ to look like...

Thanks very much. I was trying to find how to remove the brew head. Mine pumped water but did not pierce the foil top. water and not coffee would come out. I found a hairline crack in the ?"capsule holder"? I spread slightly with fine blade super glued and added some additional reinforcing with superglue and baking powder. reassembled and had excellent coffee

Thank you for the video, I needed to change a simple o-ring but had no idea how to open the machine! Who knows how long it will last, but at least I'm keeping it away from the landfill for a little bit longer...

Hello Adrian My Nespresso essenza mini has the leak that was described. I followed your instructions to see that all the tubings are not leaking and to remove the capsule piercing part for cleaning, as you described in another video. However, as you demonstrate in the above video, I cannot remove the front cup. Any tips? Thanks Varda

Hi Adrian, I have a leak which appears to be coming from the small reservoir/flow sensor on the water intake.its not coming from the tube connections but the body of the reservoir. Is this an item that can be purchased for replacement or even dyi repaired do you know? its a newer style essenza mini model: krups xn110. cheers

Hi. I have some issue with same machine. I have 3 fast blinks and pause and that Conti. I can runs pump on descaling mode. But after switching on to socket there is no light. Then when I press any button its flash regularly for a while and after goes to 3 fast and pause mode. Do you know what this can be? Best regards from Ireland

Hi guys. I've replaced the thermal fuse of my Espresso Delonghi Mini now the machine turns on (watter is pumped) automatically when I plug it in. Anybody else facing this problem?

Hi Adrian , I have issue with essenza mini, it was not in use 1 month i tried to switch ON and it’s blinking like in descale mode, after stops draining the water it’s still blinking , I tried to hold 2 buttons for 5 seconds , still it’s like in descale mode
