Nespresso Machine Won't Pump Water? QUICKEST EASIEST FIX

This will FIX your problem in under 1 minute!
You'll need a wide straw or tube for this fix. If you don't have one, here's a link: amzn.to/3tW6CYh
If your Nespresso machine isn't pumping water, even though the motor is working, it's probably due to an airlock in the water line.
There are a bunch of wacky or impractical videos about how to correct the problem. Mine works!

They told me it's air lock and it's because of an air bubble stuck inside the machine. It's quite common as you've said and we always recommend to our customers to run some water before using a capsule to prevent this issue. But you're right, as soon as it happens they don't help that much. Maybe it's just a way to make people purchase a new one. Thanks to you I fixed multiple machines at work today 😂 Thank you again!

Aniita, you really make me feel like I am watching good TV program from 1960s. Since that time, the presenters were really knowledgeable, classy, charming, and elegant. I already fixed my machine in several minutes after watching your video. Thank you very much, it means a lot to me because my 12 year old daughter wants to make a cup of coffee for me this morning. My wife switched to Starbucks’s VIA for years. Hence, the machine was left for too long. My daughter asked her mom to buy espresso capsules for me since she knows that I prefer. Tried multiple fixes over the 36 hours, descaled and cleaned this machine numerous times till it was sparking, the spinning disc was like a top, the pod holder was clear as a bell, and still orange blinking lights. Nothing. THIS WORKED! Bless you for this, you are the best!

This trick is the best!!!! I watched other videos and didn’t work. I used a metal boba straw and poke from bottom up, I let the water run. Put the water tank back in the machine and run like a charm. (Side note: I didn’t use the Pixie for 3.5 years due to living situation. So I guess the rubber part got stuck to the machine.) Thank you again!!! I have this baby for 14 years and it’s hard to let go.

Tried a few other suggestions, that didn't work, and finally saw your video. I bought one of these straws, took the water container away from the machine (I have one of the older red ones), put the straw on top of the black filter and blew several times intermittently into the straw. Took around 3 or 4 tries and then put the water container with water back on the machine, pressed the large cup button and VOILA!! It worked!!!! Thank you, thank you for the info, very much appreciated. Love my Nespresso!

She is brilliant. A simple fix. At first I did not think it was going to work. It took a few tries. If you have a boba straw it is perfect for this situation. Don't give up if it doesn't work right away. I went to bed, got up in the morning and tried it a couple more times and it fixed the problem. Simple and brilliant. Thank you.

You saved my vacation. I had to modify your technique because of the model of machine. The reservoir was much deeper. I used the only straw I had, the one in my ThermoFlask water bottle. It was too short for the large reservoir. I removed the reservoir.I held the bottom of the straw with my finger and filled it with water at the sink. Then I quickly put the straw over the intake where the reservoir would normally sit and blew it in. Repeated about 3 times. I replaced the reservoir and it pumped perfectly! Thank you so much!

I was just on the phone with Nespresso for an hour...they even did a video call to troubleshoot the machine. I asked why you could hear the motor start up, but no water comes through. Oh, I know your frustration! I had the exact same experience. It seems to me they MUST be aware of this issue (as you can see, my video has over 45,000 views - so it's a problem for many). I was so mad and frustrated that I thought "I'm just going to blow water through that thing as hard as I can." That's how I discovered the hack. I'm really happy this worked for you!

Here comes another impressed and grateful viewer writing in to report your fix worked perfectly. The hardest part was finding a straw long enough to do the trick. For what it is worth to others, for me the air bubble (I didn't know at the time what it was) happened right after I completed a descaling cycle. I had run descaler solution through 3 times. I was attempting to run the clean water through to rinse the machine but that's when the pump started getting no water. Anyway, the fix was easy as is pointed out in this video. Machine works like new again. Definitely give it a try if your machine is acting up similarly.

Thank you for this lovely comment. Descaling can be a headache for the reason you described and also for overheating the motor. So here's another little tip: If you're descaling and suddenly nothing seems to be working, walk away. Let the machine cool down for about 20 minutes and then you should be back in business.

Thanks! It took quite a few attempts, and I had to whittle the end of a length of rubber hose with a knife to the correct diameter so it would fit the water inlet of my unit and take the tank off completely.. But once I saw your video and learned what my problem likely was, I was determined. It finally worked! I dont have to call customer service to try and fix my brand new unit! :) Appreciate you!

I have had this problem many times, when I get stupid and forget to fill the tank. Normally, I can fix it by trying again and again and again and --- sometimes more than 20 tries, I think. But this time nothing helped. I searched the Internet and found some advices about lifting the water tank off and putting it back on in rapid sequence. Didn't work. Or pressing a zip lock bag filled with air down the tank to create over-pressure. Didn't work - but it sure created a mess on my kitchen desk! Your trick is beautiful because it's simple - and it worked! Thank you for sharing.

OMG - what an odyssey! I'm so glad my method worked for you. I was in the same boat and ready to send it in for repairs (and yank my hair out). Then I thought, 'I'm just gonna blow some water through there' and BINGO! Glad you didn't pass out and are able to enjoy your coffee!

That's happened to me as wll. I watched a bunch of videos that didn't work (some of which went on for too long before getting to the point IMHO) . This was after suffering through customer service for about an hour and 45 minutes. Just as I was about to pack my machine up and ship it for "repair", I thought 'hey, if it's basically an air bubble, why don't I just force it out?'. And VOILA! ...this video was born. Glad it worked for you, too!!!

Thank you! Works perfectly. Just remember to have a cup under the spout and a paper towel at the ready for water to flow. Worth the minor inconvenience...such a panic when the Nespresso doesn't instantly perform.

I did them all, the straw, the ziploc bag and opening and closing the water container to release the air pressure. Finally what worked was to reset the machine and poke the top spout with a paper clip, that released the remaining air and the machine is back!!
