The sensors have had glass detection for a bit now. The app also provides the option to quickly call 911 if an alert is triggered without the professional monitoring.
My set was sold with 2 sensors not just 1(bought it about 2 years ago). Plus you cannot disarm the system thru google assistant, you gotta do it on your phone or manually on the device.
Google makes some nice stuff, but i'm in the process of starting my smart home and I'm so reluctant to use them b/c as a company they just seem to abandon ideas...play music, hangouts, Notes, and now the security system....it just seems after something gains steam they discontinue it and are on to the next idea.
Fair points, both Simplisafe and Ring seem to be continuing to add on to their systems. I have a comparison video of all three here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SaufuCU66-U.html and a review of the Ring System 1 Year later as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fo1RqhSq7WE.html
Your phone is the second keypad also the nest x yale lock once code is entered to open door the alarm is disabled at the same time so no need for a second pad in my opinion
Because they have partnered with ADT Security Services where their systems will be available 3Q 2021. Google + ADT. Even though, anyone who gets this or has this system will be supported with both sensors, tags and software updates. Sensors out of stock due to electronic shortages on a global scale. Covid and supply issues I guess.
I want to be able to use this as a self-monitoring system but I want cellular backup, too. I've been reading through the Google docs and apparently cell backup can be included in some "bundles" from their partners without having to get pro monitoring, but I can't find any of these bundles anywhere. When I clicked on the "partners" button it took me to some irrelevant page. Anyone have any insight on this issue? Thanks!
When the Nest secure system originally came out you could sign up for cellular monitoring on it's own for a small fee through the app or portal. I think it's been changed now. With Ring: amzn.to/33fBEJh backup cellular monitoring is free even if you self monitor.
