NEST WITH ME | unboxing baby gear, baby laundry, dresser organization & bedside nursery cart 

since people have commented about my teeth so i’m gonna pin this- if they look dark or shadowed it’s because they’re stained from my liquid iron supplement i have to take during pregnancy 🤦‍♀️ they’re not decaying & i see my dentist frequently & she knows about it 👍 the staining will go away with a little help. i didn’t think anyone could notice but me so please don’t be rude i’m already trying to reverse it 💛

One thing to remember during labour is when you start to feel like you can’t do it or don’t want to do it, or like you want to give up, that means you’re so so close! I just had my second daughter 3 weeks ago and I was SO excited when the words “I can’t do this” came out of my mouth because then I looked at my midwife and said “I’m almost there!” Sure enough, 10 minutes later she was in my arms!💛 Just remember your body is made to do this, and it knows what it’s doing!

I'm just gonna say moms are amazing! In celebration of Mother's Day tomorrow, your mom, my mom, you as a future mom. GO MOMS!

You never know if you’ll need the formula!! I had a ton of samples I didn’t think I needed but ended up keeping them and then needing them bc of feeding issues. Fed is best 💛

I relate to that nesting joy… it’s like the most exciting, exhausting fun chore to do. Washing and folding those baby clothes were my favorite part. I would just hold them in my hands dreaming of when my actual baby was in my arms. Two little ones later and the feeling is just the same, magical 💖 go meghhhann go! Birth is insane and absolutely incredible. Everyone’s experiences will be different but what’s important and the only advice I feel qualified to share is this: trust your body! Listen and tune into your body and intuition ♥️🫶🏻 sending you love.

If you are looking for any positive birth content I highly recommend Ellen Fisher’s homebirth videos!! She has 5 kids and has birthed all at home. Her stories are so inspiring and positive and her 10 minute birth video of her 3rd child makes me cry (tears of joy) every time I watch it. The video is so beautiful. Very inspiring and calming as someone who is planning to homebirth but struggles with anxiety :) Anyway, I love seeing your videos! They make me very excited for when I will be in this season of life and seeing your beautiful home and family brings me so much joy :) ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day!

I love how prepared you are! It's so awesome to see! If I may offer one thought to any expectant parents out there --- Pumping is super normalized as part in parcel of breast/chestfeeding. However, if you're not planning on significantly time away from your baby it really doesn't need to be. If you are on maternity leave and don’t regularly require someone else to feel milk to your baby, pumping is optional, not a necessity. You don’t have to pump: 🧡 To maintain your supply - Barring known supply issues, “nursing on demand” or responsive feeding will regulate your supply to the needs of your baby. In addition, looking to pumping output for an indication of your milk supply can create unnecessary anxiety, as the amount of milk yielded through pumping is often not an accurate indicator of how much milk you body will actually produce. 🧡 To have time away from your baby - Hours apart between feeds is a total possibility, and becomes even easier as your baby grows. Hand expression can be really effective tool and can totally be used to fill some bags for the freezer if having a small collection of milk stashed away gives you peace of mind. 🧡 If you don’t want to - Pumping can be liberating and empowering, but for some it is just unnecessary. You can have a pump-less postpartum and still feed your baby solely your milk. You can gradually stop pumping or skip it all together if that suits you! There is no one-size-fits all journey!

Congrats to you and Fin again, excited to see you two as parents. I have twins that are adopted at birth and they just graduated kindergarten. Let me tell you they started out to young because they were born pre mature, but there teachers and us as parent are so proud how much they improved the last 4 months. So awesome. But what I was going to say is even though our kids are adopted I can’t believe how I went through a lil nesting. But man we lived across the country from our families so we didn’t get much help. One of my parents did come when my , spouse who use to be military but retired, and they helped me for the whole month they were away. mAn other then that we were alone but we managed. We were like zombies lol, my spouse said they think they were on auto pilot. But yeah that was our first year with twins. BUT seeing them graduate kindergarten now was so heart warming.

Girl my baby came two weeks earlier than I expected. Thankfully I started nesting the week before and got a lot done but my husband was building our bassinet while I was in labor!! Hahaha. You’ll never get it all done and once the baby gets here you forget about everything small. My baby is 3 months and I still haven’t swapped the knobs on the dresser which was one of the things on my pre baby list. Don’t stress it all too much just do what you can. Also please don’t clean the baseboards 9 months pregnant. Take it easy ❤️

We just had our baby on Tuesday (05/07) and at 36 weeks and up all I did was nest too. The amount of laundry and vacuuming I did was insane. Wishing you and your family all of the health and safety for the remainder of your pregnancy and your birth.

The tubes are not supposed to be washed unless it has come in contact with breast milk. Just make sure they are dry before you use them to avoid any bacterial growth. ❤

You don’t need to sterilize or wash breast pump tubing as it will not dry and can mold. You can just buy new tubing and duck bill valves.

I’m so excited for you! I love newborns they are so fun to watch even tho they do nothing everything is the first time they will do everything. And for the bigger sized clothes just wash it and put it in vacuum sealed bags. Then you can put them away. It makes it easier for when it’s time to pull the clothes out and it seales the smell of the clean clothes.

Ive had 4 unmedicated births that all went AMAZING!!!

Washable nursing pads are the best for leaking. You may possible need something a bit more absorbent/padded though. I leaked like crazy.

We have the hatch portable sound machine and it is a LIFESAVER!! My first son we never used any type of sound machine so i didn’t really understand when people said the hatch was a must have but it is!!! We use the portable one all the time!!

I didn't have the "clean the baseboards" nesting with my son. But now, with my daughter, the baseboards are looking very tempting. And a deep clean of the bathroom. And kitchen.

The positive part of my birth story would be that I was keeping active at my job, which was a daycare walking a lot, which really helped me deliver my 10 lbs. 7 oz. baby vaginal rather quickly and so that was a blessing my water literally broke the night of my last day of work oh and I was 39 weeks pregnant when I delivered her my water literally broke that day i turned 39 weeks pregnant

I found prefolds & flats to be the easiest and most economical (I used the Cloth-eez brand). The company is based in Brattleboro!! I hope you get to truly soak up everything good in these days until baby arrives.

Idk if anyone else has said it, but I’ve seen people use the hello baby cards to take pictures of their baby as they grow, but I’ve mostly seen them with months. So a picture of the baby with one that says 2 months, 6 months and so on. Love the vid btw!! Don’t ever plan on having kids, but I love a haul and cleaning video!!

Girl don't feel bad for feeling feral/crazy during this time lol I packed everything into seperate ziplocs then reorganized/changed my hospital bag so many times before I was content. If I can recommend one thing that SAVED ME, a HOSPITAL GRADE NASAL ASPIRATOR. No, you don't need the "Nosebot" brand one, I got mine on Amazon for under $30! Babies get SO congested, hell even my 21 month old, I still use this nasal aspirator on. The Nose Frieda DOESN'T COMPARE, I promise, I wish someone had told me this before I spent so much on Nose Frieda's & the filters for it!!!
