I worked as a vet assistant for quite a few years when I was younger. I can almost guarantee that the goodbye you saw between Ducky and Peach was legitimate. I was with many, many dogs when they passed. When a dog had a sibling I always recommended letting the other dog be there during the passing. They know, and being able to sniff them and understand that they're gone helps so much. I've witnessed many goodbyes between animals, and pigs are incredibly intelligent. You did such a good job supporting not only Peach, but Ducky as well. Ducky understands and knows when you take her to visit her sister. You're a wonderful Pig mom!

My dear sweet Meghan, I cried with you watching this video and now I’m crying again. This past year, I watched both my dad and my childhood dog leave their earthly bodies and the pain is immeasurable. But I truly believe that it is so sacred to be surrounded by such deep love during that time. I’m so grateful that you and Finley were both present during Peach’s last day. I’ve watched you grow so much over the past 11 years, but your heart has always been so so big. You inspired me to become vegetarian and then eventually I became vegan. All living beings deserve this peace, free from harm! You gave Peach the gift of love & freedom & safety, a feeling that unfortunately not many pigs get to experience. That is the most special gift of all. Thank you for making such a difference in their lives and for advocating so strongly for them. Peach will always be in our hearts, and we’ll think of her always and feel her everywhere. Here’s a flower to put for Peach 🌼. I wish I could’ve been there to drill the vets for peaches health even though you guys don’t know me from a can of paint 😅. I’ve always had this will power to not give up on animals just because the vet said so. I can’t help it. I lost my dog of 18 years old and I had to leave work early. I couldn’t eat and sleep. It’s even harder when you come home and it’s quiet. All you have is their little toys, bowls etc. Let yourself purge everything out. You take as long as you need to heal from the loss. Meghan (im usually a silent watcher), but feel I must say, I’m only 20.46 in and feel overwhelmed to comment that you are such a bean of love & care and kindness. I did the same for my cat Bruce, bff (best furry friend) of 9 years, during his unexpected passing. Took him into the grass outside the vets, played him some George Harrison and told him all about he’d be one with the sun shining upon him soon. Heart to heart, I hold your grief too. Im so so sorry for your loss. Every time you cry I cry My cat passed away on March 22nd and it was also my first time experiencing the death of my own pet. I'm a veterinary technician and I've been present and a part of hundreds of euthanasias at this point, some to animals I've known and worked with for years and I cry almost every time. But there is nothing like the pain of losing your own pet. I've definitely been struggling to accept his passing and i dont think I've fully processed it but hearing you talk about grief loss etc and crying it out with you helped. My bf and I lost our cat Baby a couple months ago in a very similar way. You, Finley and Peach are so lucky to have met in this lifetime and she’s so lucky to have had humans that allowed her to pass with grace. Our pets gift us love everyday and in their final moments we offer the last gift by showering them with peace and grace as they get ready to pass. We get to see out their full life cycle. It’s so hard but so beautiful. I love you guys and while I know your hearts are aching I’m so glad Peach got to be a part of your lives.

as someone who has raised livestock her whole life ik how hard it is to lose the ones you think will be around forever😢 in that same vein i can say that pigs throwing up is not at all normal maybe once but not like repeated throwing up so good thing you called a vet at that point and im sorry he didnt take it seriously. Im glad you texted athena and that she guided you in the right direction and the one i also probably wouldve taken had i been in your shoes. peach was not old youre right they can indeed live to 20! im so so sorry for your loss and i hope ducky and everyone else is okay during this hard transition❤❤❤❤

To your point at 17:17, I realized this too late into owning a female dog as well. I never got my English springer spaniel fixed because we planned to breed her, but we never got a male to breed her with and just kind of let it be. She was 10 when she developed a uterine infection, and went downhill really fast. It was going to be so expensive, the vet didn’t even think the surgery would give her much more time, and it was relatively dangerous to put her under heavy anesthesia when she was so sick. We ended up having to put her to sleep. It was so hard. I’m so sorry you lost Peachy 😢
nobody is ever ready for the loss of their beloved pet. our animals are family. it’s been about a year since I lost my one of my best friends: my dog of 15, almost 16 years. living without him still doesn’t seem real. he was an integral part of my life. he was there for me through middle and high school and my four years of college. i love all of the memorable moments you shared. your memorials to peach are beautiful.

Meghan I’m so proud of you for doing everything you could for peachy I’ve had experience like that with my rabbits where I would have to syringe feed and watch them slowly shutdown and it’s very heartbreaking to see I’m sure peachy knew how much you both loved her and wanted to take care of her and make her feel better

this was very healing for me in such an odd way. I had never lost a pet before until this year (and I'm turning 30 soon). I empathize with you so much losing miss peach. I’m so sorry for your loss I just lost one of my dogs two weeks ago my other dog is grieving and I’m just trying to deal with the pain. He was sick he had a condition called Cushing Disease he was so bad. I am sending you all my love.

Dear Meghan, I can relate to your feelings all too well. My husband and I lost our cat in February, just less than a week before our wedding. It was a freak accident and he injured his back too badly for any quality of life. In working through our feelings, we felt like he brought us to this new phase of life, like you were saying. He taught us how to be parents, he spent time when we needed it, and I think he knew we would be okay since he got us to the finish line of our wedding. Peach seems so very similar - she knows you two will be excellent parents, as you have been to her, and she knows you're okay in this new phase of life. I'm glad you two got to be around loved ones at your shower, like we did at our wedding. All of this to say, everything will be okay and we're lucky.
i’m usually a silent viewer but i just had to reach out cuz unfortunately i can relate to your situation with sweet peachy so so much ): this past winter i was 8 months pregnant and my dog got so sick so fast and we discovered he had cancer. we tried surgery to remove it but unfortunately it was not successful and we had to put him down. me and him already had such a special bond, but when i got pregnant i struggled with HG for the first 5 months and he was there for me day in and day out. he truly became my best friend. he was also my husband and i’s first major loss of a pet. i knew losing him would be painful but i still had no idea how painful it would truly be! he got sick the same week as my birthday just like peach did with you. i’m so sorry you and finley are having to experience this and during such a monumental time in your guys lives that should be filled with nothing but happiness. i’ve loved watching peach and ducky in your videos over the past couple of years and it’s so beautiful that you’ll forever have those videos of her to look back on. thank you for sharing her story with us ❤

oh Meghan, I really was grieving with you and your emotions. My cats are my babies and I find myself realizing from time to time that the cycle of life is such that I will be the one to help them transition over when it's their time. I don't know if we can ever be prepared for this, but it is absolutely valid to take comfort in feeling that Peach is still with you, and Ducky absolutely did have her time to say goodbye, because it is true. It is such a beautiful thing to bond with animals so deeply, and I know you are better for everything Peach taught you. I admire your family and how you've nurtured it over the years, I only hope to continue growing my family with as much care and passion. I told myself when I saw the title I would keep it together and not breakdown, but in the end, I bawled (still am while typing this), especially when you started tearing up. My heart breaks for you and your family. I know Peach knew you and Fin were trying everything possible to keep her going and she thanks you for that. I had a similar heartbreaking experience in Feb with my cat of 17 years suddenly going down hill and then passing within about a week- often animals compensate so we lots hard to know anything is wrong until it’s too late- It’s so normal to think what more you could have done but it really sounds like you did the absolute best you could and it was her time. You are wonderful pet parents and I am so sorry for your loss. I’m currently losing my mother- after having lost my father very young… these are such great losses by my grief for my beloved pet is just as real and massive. I was able to have my cat at home with me by his side and comfortable - it’s a kindness you did the same for your loved one. This will take time but you are SUCH a good Mama to your babies - love you. 💔❤️
