@@mrwhat5094probably not, as nests would be raided by players. I guarantee most people would place nests in good quest areas or away from popular areas
@@mrwhat5094well if theyre only available here, everyone will know where to find them, so people will have to do them here and risk people raiding them for no reason due to having no control where to put them.
I think they just placed the nests as showcase. We will probably be able to place them on our own. For example a Microraptor cant protect a nest kust standing in the open.
The best way Alderon could do this is so players can place/build nests anywhere they want except for hotspots like Impact Crator, Grand Plains, Green Vally etc. Would be a great way to get players to move around the map.
I mean considering how bad overpopulation is in the more popular part of the map I don't mind having a nesting ground where you go to nest instead of building your own, because imagine grand plains filled with nest
Well if grand plains was filled with nests they'd be easy targets to be destroyed ( I dont think they're permenant ) Having the freedom to choose where you nest is better to since everyone on the map is just going to harass you knowing where your nest is. It's going to be the hatz scene from Prehistoric Planet S2 every 5 minutes.

I'm hoping we can place our own nests and use these nests. These large area nests sound like a good quest location to go to like a migration type of quest for only certain types of dinos in certain locations. So finding your own or similar species at certain areas is easier. I also hope that we can build our own nests though because gathering nesting materials to build a nest can be another type of quest to add in as well as raising a baby.
Oh man. I think there’s some audio balance issues that occurred. Especially later on. I updated premier pro so all my audio balance stuff have been botched
I would love if we can build our nests. It makes sense and would allow players to build in areas without getting camped or griefed by other players. Also would allow baby dinos to get better spawns rather than the ones the devs have set the nests in
My only problem with this is, it allows people to cheese their nest locations. If they are predetermined nest locations then it would encourage protection of babies by multiple adults to start an actual nest. Aka group play and no juvi killing.
@@rogerfowler3252 but cheesing them is good, think about it, birds don't build on the ground unless they have to cause it's unsafe. And most animals will bury them. Also building them in other areas will encourage players to spread out. Also the big apexes won't be able to build in hard to get places because of their size, so it makes it fun because small dinos won't get griefed and big dinos have to protect their nest
AI spawn points would be the best option, offering the least amount of frustration. We technically already do spawn out of nests in the tutorial cave, but more importantly, like you said, nest campers would virtually destroy playability for new dinos immediately. It would be the same problem as designated nesting areas for how exposed they are, and I can't imagine small dinos being able to defend them well. It makes more sense that we will be able to make our own nests where we see fit.
I'd love the option to gather resources and build your own kind of nest where you want. I also love the option if im feeling lazy to just use one tht is already placed. I do feel like some of these could've been placed in better spots within those areas though..
I’m hoping all 3 theory’s are fact. + Building your own nests cause they’d be over achieving and the idea you can nest AI brings in a hope that instead of relying on other players for a realism experience you can grow your own pack or herd and enjoy that instead, making solo gameplay more enjoyable as you don’t have to go begging other players to play the same species every time you play
It's also worth noting that they added roots and/or branches around a lot of the nests. I'm definitely curious to see what these nests will be used for since I doubt nesting will come before the quest overhaul
Predetermined nest spots would suck, frankly. It's basically saying 'Hey I have kids! Come get food!" Carnivores would camp the nesting grounds and wait for you to have kids just so they can kill them. Herbivores would deliberately kill your babies just because they know where you've nested. I sincerely hope we can place nests where we want due to this.
Having large nesting zones for each species would be cool. That way players would have to move, but they would have some freedom for placing their nests.
as someone who has every dino in the game, I would love to have the option to play as a nested baby as a hardcore mode where if u die as that baby that's its gone..
NGL.... The concept of Nesting is cool for Community Servers. I have a hunch these nests are probably for AIs. If the devs truly want players to use the system then Nests need to be placeable by players. Otherwise...(And this video is proof of it)...players will know exactly where nests are and the extremely toxic players (While the PVP modes should dramatically reduce the toxicity to a degree. Those Toxic Playerbase is diverse in its cancerous activities.) will have a field day with Nesting. Nesting is literally a Baby Griefing Player's wet dream. A static spot where they KNOW they will find babies and the parents unable to flee. Basically nest = Free/Easy Kills/Meals This is different if its AI... As AI can be scaled to make it something players avoid/have to tackle with strategy. To the dev teams credit... They more or less seem to account for such things so we'll see. But the red flags for this are massive.
Idk if nests do anything, but I feel like if they had a use it’d be cool if it was like a spawn point, like if you interact with a nest it’ll ask if you wanna set that nest as your spawn point so whenever you die you’re teleported there
What would be a cool idea would be having to choose a nesting spot and it becomes a delivery checkpoint where you got a delivery quest to build the nest.

Spawnpoints where u can choose from sound dope but to make it more relatable to the nests u start as a baby with all ur marks and unlocked abilities get a hc buff to protect u and get like 6x growth speed to bring u back to whatever growth u were previously
Small raptors should get a cool defensive/utility buff when within a nest of their own. Would give more purpose to caves in popular areas like GP, WC, HT, SG.
I think these nests will be for dedicated AI spots since we know AI dinosaurs are coming to the game, having nesting grounds in which AI can spawn in will up the dynamic feeling of the maps rather than just having them pop in nearby where they are killed. When players get nests, they will likely be able to place them where they want.
You must be able to place nests where you want to. That's just my opinion. Would hotspots have nests? Yeah probably, but make it so that other people can steal eggs etc. Struthis suddenly become a very real problem. Also rainbow hills has a better heart shaped pond for all the Wades out there. Not very deep, but prettier. You welcome. X'D
build nest or search for nesting site...well i think both depending on the creature, creatures the devs dont want to be so widespread could have specific nesting sites and others make nest anywhere, i mean many animals return to the same nesting spots and there is evidence dinosaurs did it too, now i know fun is above realism but i still think it can be fun, making people all work together as 1 species group in one area all trying to defend their nests from potential predators and having the need to migrate too
As many say, i wouldd like to place nests by myself... i know countless places that are well hidden and pretty much safe... and some crazy people will nest on crater or plains probably, tho some dinos could managge that
For everyone who wants to place nests, you need to think how that would affect separate servers with different players logging in and out. If you were to place a nest, it could only be realistically functional for that single server. Can't have them spawning in and out at random based upon players logging.
I'd much prefer to be able to place down a nest where I please. As predetermined nests just seem lazy and easily camp-able like said in the video. So I'm really hoping it's not for the new nesting system.
Definitely for making your own nests and not pre determined. Pre determined has the potential of locking others out of something. Imagine huge clans constantly keeping their claims on a zone. It can make a bit of sense via a territory type thing, but at the same time, I'm not sure if that's a good idea for a video game type thing. You need to consider stuff from multiple sides. What are you willing to sacrifice with that addition and method/mechanic?
The problem is that marine reptiles didn't lay eggs, they wouldn't have nests. So no underwater nests. Unless they make seaweed beds as a spawn point for baby aquatics so it's similar to nesting but without eggs
Actually YES there are hidden faces in the coral reef biomes that are the same as burrow nests on land with tree roots and they contain nests. Those are in the public version now But no nests in the open for now have been confirmed.
I feel like having a designated place to nest makes more sense and is way better bc in real life some animals nest at the same erea and better bc Dino’s that want to hunt can ambush while if u nest urself the risk is many trolls will leave the nest and place it in crater or grand planes or white cliffs or an erea with many things that will kill you and ruin ur experience and what of the nest maker is a crater cuddler who sits ic and cuddles it will be worst as no hunting u and so I think it’s better
I would just literally really very much want to just build my own nest wherever I want because it presents New challenges and skills I really hope these are just ai spawn points.
As for me, I think it’s ai nests. The PoT ai was very far along, even in the first test. Like very far along. The critters were used to iron out the kinks so ai Dino’s could be perfected. The PoT devs surely know that it would be a greiffest if the nests were for players. And it would be unlikely that they’d make us suffer like this.
I'm really wonder if they Will make "Sense of Smell" in the game,.... because it's was very important if u are playing Wild Animal in a real life Survival world,...u Can't just depend on "INSTINCT" or combat skill in nature,...i mean even another dino survival game in Android like "The cursed Isle" have Sense of Smell mechanic in their game,....i wonder why a good game just like Path of Titan don't have it!!??,...... But overall the game are good and perfect to me
I wanna b able to put nest where i want... specially if im a big slow herbi like Eo or Ampelo... carnies r gonna target my kids cuz we r apex herbies and not easy to kill once adult. But its hard for the adults to protect their babies against small fast carnies like megs latens etc.. i need to b able to hide my nests somewhere safe!
While i would prefer building nests it wouldn’t be so bad for community realism servers, creating a designated nesting area for herds to migrate to, and it may create diversity in terms of if you can also build a nest or claim and old one, since dinosaurs probably claimed and used old nesting sites of their past herds. Plus it would also make people move around to nest, so they couldn’t just nest all in one area like impact crator. So im not sure.

Maybe if all nest will be used you need to fight for the pleace? Like sometimes in real life? You know path of titans is Inspiriting the wild life, then maybe would be like this? This is kind a cool. That you need to fight for your nest anc babies.
Wait these AI dinos means like an npc meg or npc Spino? Or just like critters? And OS it in the Single Player Mode too? I quitted the game after 400+ hrs bc of this amount of toxic players but seems i should try it again then
