It is insane how many different Bibles are out there. There are soooo many! Just one look at christianbook and you see a ton! It’s nice to have such a variety but at the same time it can be overwhelming to choose one. I try to show as many different ones as I can in the hopes it will help someone find the right Bible for them. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
Possibly the most unique Bible out there. The amount of textual notes is unbelievable. When I see a footnote in any other Bible that raises a question I pull this one out as my first reference. I can't see anyone using the full notes version as their daily carry but I really think this is one of the first references anyone interested in textual criticism should get.
Now that's a STUDY bible. I find the translation interesting and the notes really provide a lot of background on the translation process but I find them easier to read online. You did a great overview of the full notes edition with just the right amount of detailed explanation. It's easy to get lost in all the detail of this bible so you did really well in explaining it to us mere mortals.
It’s a great Bible. And when I use it I can’t help but read all the notes. Plus it is made really well too. I’m glad Thomas Nelson got involved with this translation. Thank you for watching and commenting
Ok... This is literally my favorite bible now. I put off getting it for a long time because the translation itself is so different from traditional translations I'm used to (KJV, NKJV, ESV). But the notes are GOLD! I can't believe how fascinating it is. Also humbling because they talk about "jussive," "preterite," "polemic," and "metonymy". All of which I had to look up! But I am having so much fun digging into these notes!
Use this one constantly as a reference. I typically read from another Bible and then refer to the Full Notes NET when I want more details on how something was translated. Especially useful for understanding differences between translations!
Reading any bibles with this NET Full Notes, plus the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible, will surely bring us so much closer to the original messages! I am so excited and have been going around watching reviews of this bible as I wait for my copy to arrive :) Thank you!
It’s a great Bible. They did a fantastic job on it. I am so glad that Thomas Nelson got involved with producing the NET Bible. The notes are great and you will learn a lot from it. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
It’s an awesome Bible! I think it’s one every student of the word should have in their library. I really hope that you like it. I’d be curious to hear what you think after you receive it.
Was just surprised with one of these in the black leathersoft and absolutely love it! The notes are a great resource to have and the addition of it being an open source Bible (can fully print and distribute within copyright law) add on to why I love it.
Also, I have this actual edition of this translation in the gorgeous brown genuine leather (none of that icky bonded stuff) full notes version with those regal satin ribbons in perfect colors. What a joy! The Holy Scripture deserves this kind of respect and treatment. Also, this is a translation with notes that does not dumb things down for the religious masses. Instead it believes in our intelligence and invites us to go higher.
With over 58,000 notes the NET bible is an excellent resource for doing expanded word studies. They include both Hebrew and Greek words that get broken down to bring further understanding. With the Hebrew especially, one can grasp clarification of what being said. It's even fun to translate the Greek to Hebrew which the NET allows if you have a Strongs as well. I have the bible.org 2nd ed. I use it frequently
It is really neat! I find if I start reading the notes I can't stop and read the entire page, they really did a great job on this one. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
It is an awesome Bible! I love that it has all the various notes. It is definitely worth getting one. It is neat that you bought one for your parents, I pray that they love it and are blessed by it. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it 🙂
It’s a great Bible. They did a fantastic job on it. Definitely worth getting one and they have a variety of cover options too. Thank you for watching and commenting
Oh, I'm definitely gonna have to get a copy of this. I'm always wondering, "What are the *other* five meanings of this word?" but I'm too lazy to google every word that *might* have other translations. This is fantastic!
This is such a neat Bible! I think it is one that everyone should have in their library because it is so helpful. They did a great job on this one. I would definitely recommend it. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
It is an awesome Bible! Tons of notes in it and they are so interesting to read. In order to stop myself from reading them all I have to put it down and read from the Thinline. They did a great job on it. Nelson is doing an amazing job on all of their new Bibles. Thank you for watching and commenting
@@BibleBelievingChristian hi I just want to let you know I finally picked up The Net Bible with full commentary notes in genuine leather. I made a trade and that's how I was able to pick it up. I picked it up on a trade just wanted to update you I can't wait to sit down with it and read it
@@brotherarn that is awesome news! It’s a great Bible and you will find that if you start reading the notes on a page you won’t be able to stop! It’s so hard to put down. Just an amazing Bible!
I went back to my study and couldn’t find my NET Bible! Gone .... after 17 years. So I ordered a new one from Thomas Nelson. I’m going to be disappointed with the TN maps after the spectacular satellite maps in my original NET Bible. I’m happy for the updates. I wouldn’t mind if they put the Strong’s or Goodrich numbers in the notes. Overall, I like the layout especially the dark ink emphasis on Scripture. Open source text is a real advantage but for some reason my seminary isn’t wild about this translation. My professors prefer the NASB, ESV or CSB. For my Greek studies, though, this was a great translation. Good Bible to have but I think it’s very technical for everyday use. Thanks for another excellent review. MikeinMinnesota
I feel much better than I did! Not 100% yet but a huge improvement. I recorded a couple of videos earlier tonight and will be getting those uploaded tomorrow so it is nice to be back at it. Being sick put me behind schedule. I really appreciate your prayers! It means so much to me. Thank you!!!
This is a terrific new edition of my old NET Bible. The print size and font are very readable and compared to my original copy the leather cover is nearly luxurious. As I suspected the Thomas Nelson maps are colorful and sharp but not the spectacular images of the 1st edition maps. I spent a little extra and got the indexed version. It was well worth it as the indexing is as crisp as the CSV Study Bible. I am delighted. MikeinMinnesota
It’s a great Bible! The more I use this one the more I like it. They really did an awesome job on it. Thomas Nelson is doing a fantastic job on their new Bibles. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate you very much 😊
It’s a neat Bible. Tons of notes and when I read from this one I tend to read all the notes so I have to put it down and read the Thinline. I am glad that Thomas Nelson got involved with the translation. They have been coming out with some excellent Bibles. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
Getting next month. Has more of what I am interested in than the LASB. Saw a couple of reviews that said the LASB notes were too general and ill placed.
Smart choice! Two for the price of one is always good. Their leathersoft editions are really nicely done. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
They’re really neat Bibles! I do use the Thinline more but I keep this one next to me so when I want to read the notes it is handy. Thank you for watching and commenting
There is no way I’d use this except for a reference to dig down to get more detail information. But as an every day Bible I’d feel like I’m reading more notes than scripture.
Nah ... I'm just wanting to graduate up from the NIV, its like Recruit mode😭😅😆.This is some other type of Bible on legendary mode without the ability to regenerate your health and no armor for the whole game. I'll just get an ESV
That is an amusing way to describe the "Bible game" I like it. A agree that ESV is Always a safe route to go. It is my family Bible translation, but I need to get this translation for myself.
The NET Bible is really neat. You should check it out online and see what you think. I like it a lot. I do use the Thinline more often cause the print is larger but when I want to read the notes it’s nice having them handy. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
I'm finding out more of this Net bible. I found netbible.org and it has a lot of helpful information that I may add to my studies along with blue letter bible and bible hub and so on... Thank you for reviewing this bible as it's led me to more stuff to check out!!! I like that! lol I am definitely wanting to learn more about this. I will probably look into getting one of these!
It’s a really neat Bible! And they offer it in a variety of cover options too. I like that they offer it all online for free too. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
Wow that book has a lot of notes. Problem is I was afraid those notes are too small for these old eyes. Great review God bless PostScript I've been wearing that hat you gave me I absolutely love it identify as meme with Christ and I have been getting a lot of responses good and bad it opens up an opportunity for conversation thank you my friend 🙏😇
Yeah the notes are a little small and would probably be hard for your eyes...glad to hear you’re wearing the hat. It will open up doors for conversations good and bad but the way you respond serves as a witness and even if the person isn’t a believer that could be a seed that is planted from the conversation. I often wear T-shirts with something biblical on them and that opens up conversations too... thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you my friend.
I'm just too old to change my ways. I got on board with the NASB and the ESV a while back and now that I am consistently using those two versions, along side the KJ and NKJ, I am a happy camper. And the excessive amount of notes in this particular Bible would definitely take me away from Scripture. I am definitely going to the website because I want to know more about the contributors. Very nice review, as always. Have a blessed day!
Lol, you always make me laugh. The notes can be a distraction for sure, I use the Thinline a lot more but it is nice having this edition next to me so if I do want to read the notes they’re conveniently next to me. I love the Thinline edition. Thank you for watching and commenting
Oh no! The smooth leather can scuff easily. I’ve got a few of them with thinner leather covers that have scratched easily but over time they actually end up looking really neat because it gives them an antique look like a really old journal. My nails tend to scuff some of mine but I mainly scratch my gilding but usually only on the more expensive Bibles, go figure! Lol 😂 but it’s ok because it gives them character.
Awesome review. Thank you 😊 it’s so nice to be able to see all the close ups. Now I need to decide if I want the full notes or the large print thinline. Are you going to review the newest Hebrew Greek Bible ? I’ve seen a few videos on it but they were not helpful in any way at all.
Thank you! I do use the Thinline more often but I do love having the full notes as well cause if I have to go online to read them I know I’ll get distracted...and yes I will be reviewing the new KJV Hebrew Greek Key Word Study Bible. If you want to see the contents beforehand I do have a review of it in the CSB and I go into good detail on how it works. So you can watch that video in the meantime. I hope to have the review of the KJV posted over the weekend. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it!
The top 4 best study Bibles for bible college students and teachers is 1. ESV keyword study bible 2.NET bible 3.macatur NASB 4. Issulared NLT study bible.
When they came up with the idea for this translation they hit the ball over the stands and spectator lights and out of the stadium! You get to peer behind the magic curtain and see how and why they translated the text. You get to find out about the actual ancient manuscript readings (my favorite part). And you get to hear cultural, historical, and theological knowledge. In my opinion every translation should be done like that...it is transparent and honest. If you are smart you will grab this while you can. 😀
Wow that is an incredible amount of notes. What do you think of this translation as compared to other common English ones such as ESV, CEV, and NCV? Thanks for this review!
What I have read I have really enjoyed. I do have a copy of those other translations you mentioned but I haven’t really read them yet. But the NET I am enjoying. Plus you can check it out for free online too which is nice. Thank you for watching and commenting
I think only the genuine leather editions have 3 but I am not 100% sure. There’s probably a few reviews of the leathersoft editions on RU-vid that you could check out. I think it will have just 2 ribbons though.
I have my Large Print picked out but I am stuck and I need HELP! :-) For the Full Notes Edition do I get: Genuine leather for $45, the leathersoft for $35, or the cloth-over-board for $28? What is the best deal in your opinion? It is a bible for the desk so cloth-over-board is OK and will sit on a shelf better, but you really like the leathersoft from this edition, and genuine leather is always a long-lasting choice but sometimes suffers from a bad hand feel. What is your suggestion? OR I could wait for a large print edition if it was likely to come out this year.
Michael Reed I don’t know if they’ll do a large print full notes edition or not. I totally forgot to answer this on my lunch break earlier, sorry about that. The genuine leather has a nice feel to it. I’ve never worn out a leathersoft edition but I also use mine inside and not outside. Hardcovers are durable and stand upright on a bookshelf but it won’t have gold gilded page edges if that even matters to you. The leather isn’t that stiff shiny genuine leather but instead has a softer feel to it but it’s not shiny and not the suede feel, it is right in between, if that makes sense. I’m not sure if the others have 3 ribbons or not either so that might be a determining factor to consider too. The brown leather one is nice. I don’t have any signs of wear on mine which is surprising cause my nails tend to scratch covers and gilding. This leather would scratch easier than the genuine leather you’d see on a sword study Bible or the key word study Bibles. Those are much harder to scratch. But this leather I think would age nicely over time and wear would give it more character. I think any of them would be nice but I am glad I have the leather one. I like the looks of it as well as the feel and the 3 ribbons are nice and gold gilding. I hope that helps.
@@BibleBelievingChristian This is Exactly the kind of information I was looking for. The ribbons are important to me. The leather aging well is important to me as well. Your explanation of how the leather feels is fantastic. I am getting the leather version. Thank you for all your help! You Rock!
Awesome! I think you’ll like it. Please let me know once you receive it. I’d be curious to hear what you think. I like it. Sometimes I prefer an imitation leather version like the ESV Creeds & Confessions Bible the best looking and feeling one is the TruTone edition for way less money than the goatskin.
@@BibleBelievingChristian I will let you know when they arrive. Both the Large print and the Full Notes should arrive mid-July. On my ESV Creeds, I went ahead and got a Schuyler and I Love it. It is the family Bible that we read. However, I get why on Bibles that have more of a scholarly application like Full Notes or Creeds, it makes sense to buy Tru-tone or even hardback since they will not be used daily. It is the information needed and not the experience as much. Thank you for all your help.
It’s a paragraph format. They also have a large print Thinline edition but it doesn’t have all the notes in it. They also have a journaling edition as well.
I am not English and have a superior Bible in my own mother tongue, plus two dynamic translations based loosely upon the TR and other sources. My pet Bible is based upon the Masoretic and Textus Lenigradensis. For using my second language, English, the Spirit of God had led me to a most accurate Bible, the NET. Unlike the KJV, which is dynamic and not taken from the original, the NET was translated from the original languages directly. People should really let go of opinion and gain factual knowledge of how the Bible came to be. I studied this for thirteen years, with God's Spirit as my Professor. We must get that knowledge and let go of Medaeval superstitions.
I think the main difference is going to be the liner material, this one has a vinyl one and I think the leathersoft has paper. Leather usually does last longer than imitation leather but I haven’t worn out any of my leathersoft ones. If you can afford the leather I’d opt for that but if not I think the leathersoft editions are very nice.
