Lately, I have been watching WWII documentaries. One thing that strikes me extremely similar to what the Nazis did to the Jewish is the dehumanization of Palestinians by the Israeli government. In order to kill innocent people and not feel bad about it, you need to dehumanize them. This is what the Nazis did with the Jews, and now what the Israeli government is doing to Palestinians. Phrases like “they are animals” allows them psychologically to commit mass murder and think that they are not doing anything wrong. If you cannot remove their humanity, many soldiers with a conscience will not be able to carry out acts of mass murder. I watched a video of an Israeli sniper killing a Palestinian kid, and laughing about it with his buddies. It is not only about the people who have been killed: it is also about the wounded, and property destruction. I also watched a video of a 13-year-old Palestinian girl who had both of her legs amputated without anesthesia. These injuries are physical and psychological, and thousands of Palestinians will live the rest of their lives with them. Half of Palestinians’ houses are completely destroyed at this point. Think about how difficult it is for you to have a home. All you had to work for it, and then just have it destroyed by a bomb. Who is going to pay for all this destruction? The fascist Netanyahu?
