Ikr, I watched Death Note American adaptation on Netflix is cringe man. I can never watch Death Note the same way without remembering how crap the movie is.
Damn...if pewdiepie has all these cool and intelligent stuff to say about things...why don't I see more videos LIKE THESE?! Pewds! I wanna see more videos like these from you!

i haven't read Blame but when they made Death Note into a live action movie (US Version). I was so disappointed. Remember when they made Dragonball live action. Oh man~ that was a disaster.

It's because anime is okay at best and is put up on a high pedestal for the fact that it comes from a different culture and it's anime. There are some genuinely good ones but it's not likely that the ones you suggest are good.
I get it. Netflix took all the good elements of the original and turned it into a mainstream thing. Nasty. Especially when they changed main ideas. Love is NOT NEEDED in this anime
blame! (the original manga) is beautiful and i love its art style. it irked me when people mocked it. thank you for liking it. ok im done i'll leave now don't worry it is like i was never here
I read the manga cuz of Pewd's comments about it, and it's a blast. I still have so much questions though, but like what Pewds said, it's open to multiple interpretations. Might read it again a couple'a months or years or so.
He's basically seen 80% of all anime since 1985. I subbed around a million which has been a while, I knew he liked anime... I knew he watched a LOT... I didn't know he had reviewed fucking 80 different ones on some anime blog though ROFL
Honestly if Pewds turns into the new Anime Man I'd be totally on board it's nice watching him speak about something he's obviously passionate about rather than forcing himself to play shitty games (you laugh you lose can stay too)
No offence but YLYL is a hit or miss for PewDie. Sometimes, it is funny then the next episode is just a total flop. I would prefer him playing old games that he never showed us in his channel but I'd be happy if he gives content similar to this from time to time.
Netflix just doesn’t understand what makes anything great it just sparknotes every story it gets Blame is great because 1 it’s abstract- like art style where you never know what you’re going to get and anyone with an imagination can come out with a different story and different motives for each character. 2 using technology unknown and impossible to understand to the extent that it makes the reader want to know everything about the universe.
3. the universe is such a monolith of gigantism the the moment you realize the real scale, you just wont look at any other univers the same way ever again 4. the despair and loneliness, the empty dead world where you wont meet not even life - movement for millions of kilometer, this insane atmosphere
I forgot about this comment. Also a good thing to add would be, 5. Most importantly Blame takes man-made infrastructure (ex buildings, roads), things we use to order the universe to better accomodate us, and flips it on it’s head. In Blame, our own architecture no longer accommodates for us and is ordered like the rest of the universe. It’s a reminder that the universe wasn’t made with us in mind. Such a strong theme, and Netflix just doesn’t do the same. This series seriously changed my life. I’m now pursuing Architecture as a career and I attribute a lot of that decision to this book. It sucks to have something mean this much to you, have a team remake it, and just fundamentally not understand it
@@quakman639 I finished the manga a little while ago, and I can't see my self watching an anime of "Blame!". If you are okay with reading manga I suggest if you're interested to read the manga rather than watching the anime, although I feel like "Blame!" is for certain types of people, it's not for everyone x) Well I hope you enjoy anything you do! Good luck and have a nice day :D
@@quakman639 at certain points it can be really chaotic and difficult to understand, but if you're the kind of person that wondered for hours what the finale of 2001 space odyssey meant after watching it you'll like this manga no problem. Let's just say it leaves lots of sposts open for interpretation.
Honestly videos like these are some of my favorite. I didn’t know what BLAME! was, along with some other really good manga/anime, until your videos. (The one about a lot of your favorites and the one about BLAME specifically). Hope to see more like those in the future!
Chris Mason The noun 'blame' is like you said, flame with a b; but in the manga it's blam as in the sound. 'blame' wouldn't make much sense to the story anyway
You're really good at reviews, I like how you really going deep into the piece and examine it and the way you explain it. I would like to see more of these. I might even care to read the manga, even tho I hate science fiction
I saw this ages ago around the time I watched (and loved) the Blame! movie. Finally got around to reading the manga and now I know what you were talking about. It was SO amazing and I can't stop thinking about it.
When he mentioned my favorite arc of Blame! 😍 But as much as I hoped seeing the cool silicon creatures like Ivy, Davinelulinvega, Schiff And all the others, in the ending kinda happy they weren’t in the movie....it wouldn’t have ruined them. I don’t think this movie is bad though. It gives people an idea what Blame! Feels like, just in a more Mainstream-way. Maybe watching this movie made some consider reading the manga. And that would be a good thing.
I did exactly thay I watched the movie and then read the manga. Ive probably read it 5 or 4 times now and its still so great. This is a late reply It would kinda funny If you replied to me
Agree with you about the feeling of filling the gaps with our imagination that makes us value more the series or movie. Also, the time explanation is simple to understand when put in a linear perspective!!!!

Umberto Mautone Netflix is the language of the universe. Like, if you wanna go to a Play, speak to Playnese people, you learn Theaterin, ok? If you want to go to Books, you learn Bookish. But if you go to The Movies you learn Netflix.
Woah! Didn't expect to see you here! 😂 I'd thank pewds for this anime recommendation as I had never stumbled upon this hidden gem (anime ma man it keeps impressing). Any other interesting ones like this? I am still in shock that he is quite a cultured and intelligent viewer (pretty cool tastes infact and I am talking next level tastes). I was expecting his tastes to be different. Good on ya pewds!
I really want to finish reading it, but they have yet to translate parts 8,9 and 10 to sell in my country. It'll pribably take several months if not more, which is quite annoying because I might forget what was in previous parts.
As I said on Twitter; I don't know your reasons for deleting the first video you made talking about Blame, but it was really good, it really touched me and I hope you know it was a very good video for many.
BUT PWEDS!! wasnt the gravitational beam emitter stopped in the manga? or at least "redirected"? (one time when Killy encounters those baby like guards that guard the entrance to the city (before he meets Cibo) and one time when he faces the lvl 9? safeguard at the end (that huge thing that puts up a barrier around itself). But it COULD be possible that the gun wasn't on full power at those times.. might have to re-read the manga a 6th time.
Tbh, maybe the Netflix version of Blame isnt exaclty like the manga. But unlike death note the story in itself makes sense and is enjoyable. The movie isnt too bad.
This will probably be drowned out... But have you ever read Gantz, Pewdie? If you like this kind of manga style of story telling and gore/violence/mature themed. Then it is 100% to be recommended. If you've read Gantz, thumbs up so he may read this. I think it'll be straight up his alley. Even though he might have read it already as this seems to be a very loved genre/theme for him.
Please... you dont WATCH Gantz... Unwatch it and read the manga. I watched it myself after reading 300 chapters, the anime does nothing to promote what is good about the series. That is my opinion, anyway. :)
I've rewatched the movie after reading the anime, it wasn't so bad. They could have picked a cooler bit of the story but in the end it's not the worst possible adaptation. I like how it still gives a feel of many iconic scenes from the manga that would otherwise have had to be cut out if they had just made a one to one remake of a small part of the original story. You can see that a lot of effort was put into readapting it into a 90 minute format.
I really like Blame! for the same reasons as you. It isn't my favorite comic book, but it's one of the series I didn't got rid of when I moved to the new apartment. One of my favorite comics/manga/whatever is Battle Angel Alita, which is also getting a film version soon (live action and by Hollywood at that) which is weird because it's also an obscure manga from the 90'. But I'm hopeful it'll be good. I haven't seen the Blame! animu yet... What's next... Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service?! :P
