Netflix's One Day Show Review!! | Abby Daniel 

I loved the show, the characters were so real and Ambika and Leo were wonderful. I'm a bit younger than the characters were supposed to be but the soundtrack was also nostalgic for me growing up in the 80s and 90s and just perfect as music was so essential to the show. I noticed something in the final ep when Dex is alone talking to Emma's ghost and she comforts him. There is an overhead shot of the both of them. I interpreted that as Emma looking down on Dex from above and seeing herself with him. So she was really there with him in spirit and the conversation was real in a spiritual way, if that makes sense.

It’s based on a book and the author helped the screen play writing. They did think about changing the ending but in the end, it would go against the real intention of the book - life is complex, people are complex, the most promising men are deeply lonely and also that losing something or someone can make us find ourselves. The series end was actually the compromise in that it showed that the love that was was worth all the pains (many cried in that recollection of their tender moments from the kiss on the top step until their last one) and also him following her daughter is a parallel; as a man his love for Emma has grown and transformational to himself in that it shows us his devotion will now move to his daughter - a different but evolutionarily necessary love. Her love for Emma was essential for his true self, his love for his daughter was a continuation of him finding his place in this universe of a life’s destiny.
