Great video! I appreciate how clear and concise you were in explaining the roles of network engineers and network security. I also like the suggestion to upload a video about PaloAlto certificate and your journey to getting certified. It would be really helpful to hear about your personal experience and any tips you have for those pursuing that certification. Keep up the great work!

Hi Kavya, I will be making a complete roadmap video for that one. But in summary CCNA - Work as a network engineer - Learn Linux- Transition into Network security. You can watch my video on the list of certifications I did to get a better idea which is already out on my channel.

I have CCNA and CCNP enterprise now I am going for CCIE training do you think it's a wise idea to go for CCIE security instead of enterprise? Or i should go for CCIE enterprise and then go for extra security program like Palo alto or Fortinet?
@allwynmasc1
@allwynmasc1 Год назад
I think you should skip the ccie and Cisco in general and go for fortinet and Palo Alto. Do the nse4 and pcnse certs. Run some labs in gns3 and get comfortable with the product by trying out different setups.

Why do PaltoAlto?,what about vendor neutral certifications?
@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 8 месяцев назад
I suggested Palo Alto only because I feel their firewall solutions are really good. However there are a few vendor neutral certs that are available. The COMPTIA SEC+ is a cert that covers many domains of cybersecurity.

How the demand for network engineer as enterprise is more transitioning into cloud?
@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 7 месяцев назад
Hi, my take on this is, even if you transition into cloud, you still need network engineers to facilitate that transition. Let me know what you think about this

As a high schooler what would be the best path to take to become a network engineer and maybe a network security engineer in the future
@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 2 месяца назад
Hi, If you are a high schooler I would recommend getting your bachelors/undergrad first. This could be in IT. Certifications such as CCNA, Network+ etc. could be sought after later on. If you have an interest in IT, you could get a bachelors that focusses on many IT domains and then specialize in lets say Networking/Cybersecurity. I have a video on a roadmap to get into Network Security and you can check this out just to get a perspective - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U-m4nBxenQk.html

@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 Год назад
Hi, In my view networking and security will definitely have a high demand. Also with networking, that is something that will never really be phased out as it is the backbone of any infrastructure.

Hi, No you don't need to complete CCNP to go for a firewall vendor cert. I would recommend the PCNSA.

@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 10 месяцев назад
Hi, If you want to get started in Networking, I always suggest getting the Comptia Network+ course done but if you already have base knowledge of the subject then CCNA is something you can aim to get.

Sir coding is important for networking and also without coding any network job is available
@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 9 месяцев назад
Coding is important if you are looking to get into network automation where coding is used along with basic networking CLI knowledge. Without programming there are plenty of jobs available in network/security engineering.

@thesocialdork1133
@thesocialdork1133 Год назад
Hi Joe, CCNA is a good start, then try working as a network engineer, you can either get the CCNP after that or focus on Network Security Certs such as PCNSA (Palo is in high demand).

It depends on the customer and the role. Another thing to consider is the labor category for the position, which can give an idea of the pay band. That’s a very important aspect not discussed. An IT person can be successful in any role and often times roles bleed over into each other.
