Feels very wrong to me to judge anybody’s response in these circumstances; I genuinely don’t know what my own response would be if someone so precious to me were to be taken so viciously. I hope I never know.
As a survivor of a violent crime in a non death penalty state it’s not an option. The offender will be in prison for the rest of his life. And has been there for the past 30 years. I don’t believe in state sanctioned murder. It changes only one thing. It adds hate disguised as comfort to a broken heart
hate? why are you speaking for others? speak for yourself. i am against the death penalty also, but i wouldn't judge anyone. and i certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over the execution of a murdering scumbag@@Juniper122
I was living in Houston in 1988 and remember this awful crime. Personally, I don't think I'd want to watch an execution, but I certainly understand the Kelly family's point of view as well. This had been a brutal, vicious crime and Jenkins derserved what he got.
OMG she said she didn't care what his background was or what had happened to him growing up bravo for her because that is just what it should be nothing that has happened to them gives them the right to put others through the same sort of pain
Those two women thought that his death was so ..... funny. i wouldn't care what they had done i wouldn't be almost laughing the whole time he was dying. If the poor guy had any family at all. i would hope they could contain their laughter until they left,
I thank God for allowing me to get caught in my crimes without receiving the death penalty or not getting killed. If it wasn't for me having to sit down to rethink my life, I could have been in this same situation.
Just watched a video on Fox 26 News Houston website dated August 21, 2021. Eugene Pete Hart was granted parole. The sister Robin Kelley now 57 yrs old gives a current interview. They are trying to reverse the decision. Her father passed away in 2016 & mother in 2017.
Your channel is one of the best I have ever watched most informative interesting shows. They don’t make them like this anymore! Well done editing it perfect for older content! obsessed
This is a wonderful experience because of your story! My name is Cara born 1966 and my family says the same when it comes to animals I am just the same! I’m sorry you’ve had to go through such a tragedy. My prayers are with you and your family. You seem like a wonderful Mom !
Cara Mason - Have you considered writing to the Kelly's? With so much in common with their Kara, I'm sure they'd love to hear from you. Maybe tell them about your life & just share a little bit.
Yes but they didn't have to laugh about it, they were out for blood and they got it The father and the Aunt were the only ones that didn''t think it was funny
I don’t know what to make of this, episode? On one hand the family of the victims that has been, avenged, on the other does it make it right? Vengeance is mine saith the Lord? Excellent and thought provoking episode! Something to think about that’s for certain!
Really good documentary. I like the real life stories of death row from both sides if the families and the inmate. It's not pretty stories but it's a testament of truth and the courage of both to tell their stories. Hoping it makes a difference to deter violence.
Id been looking for older documentaries on texas death row stuff, just recentlty watched execution machine on your channel now this one, keep them coming theyre very interesting
Yes they did the only 2 that didn't laugh or smile was the Aunt and the father the Mother & Sister were laughing i bet they thought this was like Christmas.
@@maggieotsuka1266 I’m so glad someone else saw how the mother & daughter we camera hungry. I mean she’s making sure her lipstick was perfect sheesh. I damn sure wound calling people or any rag paper to talk to if my 2 children were murdered .
WHAT DID THEY DO GO HOME AND CELEBRATE ?? IF YOU THINK THAT WATCHING SOMEBODY DIE IS FUNNY I HOPE SOMEBODY LAUGHS WHEN YOU IE KARMA IA A FUCKING BITCH IT WILL COME BACK AND BITE YOU IN THE ASS, DID YOU MAKE SURE HIS FAMILY SAW YOU LAUGHING AS HE DIED? I WONDER WHAT THEY THOUGHT?
This puts this tragedy into perspective. Hard to watch, shame that 3 lives were wasted, the Kelly family has been through so much and I hope this has helped them heal. Occasionally society has to do some distasteful things, and this is very similar to taking the trash out.
I use to be 💯 on the death penalty and all my life as an adult I was for it! I watched a show about executions, I can’t remember the name yet it was about the criminal and what he done his life before and after his offense. How life was on death row and how they were fighting it. Well this went a step further and showed them right after execution laying on a gurney in the prison chapel dead. Their families coming in and crying over their dead bodies. One death row inmate still had a tear rolling down his cheek. These men were walking , talking and healthy and now their dead. I don’t know if I was meant to watch that but it made me stop and think and think I don’t think we have the right to kill someone. I was so confused after watching that and still I am. I can understand families wanting justice but after they are killed it doesn’t bring anyone back. What purpose does it serve? Life in prison yes I believe but killing them I just don’t know. We have had innocent men executed another reason why it’s a I don’t know. Sometimes I think it’s a revenge type of thing and that’s not what the death penalty is for. So what are y’all thoughts on the death penalty?
@@blondechick9804 I cannot accept the possibility, however remote, that an innocent person might be wrongfully executed. For this reason, I oppose the death penalty.
How unbearable, to lose two children to murder. Why did that monster have to kill them? I'd want to go face to face with him and ask him why before he was executed.
@@jentrevino3919 nah plenty of people do drugs and don't kill. He killed cause he was a shitty person and wanted to kill and I question your judgement for lying down with a killers son and having the audacity to defend the bastard.
I am disappointed that so many of these comments are so condemning of the victims' family. Their children were murdered. Pray you are never in their shoes.
I feel sad for the family of victims. Imagine having 3 children and planning to have a big family seeing your grandchildren with you in last days of your life and this happens.. No parents should ever attend the funeral of their children
Bears are usually excellent mothers, very protective of their babies. I saw a video a few days ago of a mother bear teaching her babies to swim. The third baby, smaller than the others was struggling. The mom kept looking around to check on him, then she walked back through the water and used her nose to nudge him along and keep his head from going under. It was a beautiful thing to watch.
@David R Yes, that's why we call them wild animals and why we have to respect them and their habitat. If you swim in shark infested waters, you're looking for trouble and you can't blame the sharks.
I would take it a step further; I think the victim's family should have the right to push the button (or in this case, syringe). Tell them, "Be sure to push the drugs in the right order, and with the right timing; if you don't, it will be painful for the condemned......."
How typical it is to hear from the family of the victims saying how his death was "easy " compared to other witnesses who agree that it was a torturous death and that the condemned prisoner obviously was in great pain during the process. After all they are not giving this fella a light sleeping tablet rather they are putting him to death. The whole sorry story from the tragic vile murder of 2 innocents through to the barbaric execution of a human being.
You are aware that they are given an general aesthetic before injected with poison right? They are knocked out so they wont feel the effects of the poison.
What a beautiful mother. What an absolute tragedy. Dear Lord look after this precious mother. Thank you Lord that she had beautiful children, who are now in heaven. Heaven needed them more. Amen
Heaven needed them more? Really? Is that how you rationalize everything? Whack jobs of the highest order. Completely off the rails with that comment. Unbelievably cruel.
I’ve lost a son to suspicious circumstances! I’m not sure I’m up to seeing someone executed personally. But I really hope to those that can! Find some closure nothing can ease loss of a child in my mind .
What the Kelly family went through was terrible but they did appear to enjoy all the publicity which seems in very bad taste. Still I guess that’s Texas for you.
@Donnell Okafor Well said. Too often the victims get forgotten. The Devil always gets the Headlines. Give the Victim's time in the Spotlight as well. Proves Victim's can move on. I've been under anesthetic. Pain is gone. Easy death. Don't know where Leo ended up.
@@suerichards47 Mad and sad and angry I'm sure. And I would want the murderer to be locked away. I would never want my legal system to have the power to kill people, not ever. Any country that has the death penalty has no right to call itself civilised. The people in this video are sick in the head. Instead of drooling over a grisly revenge, they would have done better for themselves by participating in some serious mental health counselling. Honestly, I found them horrifying.
@@suerichards47 It has been proven that the system is racist. It has been proven that if you have money, you can buy your way out of anything. It has been proven that judges can be corrupt and juries fallible. It has been proven that innocent men have been executed. It has been proven that death row is "cruel and unusual" punishment. It has been proven that killing someone does not bring their victim back. It has been proven that it is more expensive to kill someone than it is to keep them in prison without parole. It has been proven that the sentence of life without parole is exactly that. The rate of recidivism for murder is low and in no way mitigates the death penalty.
I'm 100% against the death penalty (even if I, myself, were a victim). In my opinion, this type of punishment has nothing to do with justice - it's about sadistic venegence and revenge. Murder is murder; no matter who commits it. Whether an individual does it, or the State does it: BOTH are wrong. Don't kill in the name of "justice" for me. I'm no murderer.
It's obvious no one has murdered your children in cold blood. You should have enough self awareness to admit you don't know how you would feel if that were your babies.
I agree, murdering is wrong no matter if it's "US" commiting the act or the Government. You're telling the perp it's "wrong" to commit murder, so we're going to be wrong, too, and commit murder. My cousin and children's father were murdered in cold blood. My kid's father was killed bc some druggies robbed him for drug money, so they savagely beat him to death and only got 1500.00. This just happened 6 months ago and I hope the ppl get life, not the death penalty bc living a life sentence will be hell! That's just what they deserve!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔💔
Lady gives me the shivers. She took a little too much satisfaction in this. Although I can’t ever imagine her loss, to stand in front of the mic and damn the man hell like that. Cold blooded, just like the condemned.
As long as it's plain as day like in this case who the killer is and that it was done in cold blood, I have no objections to the death penalty. Religion is silly cos everyone can believe what they want to believe. Dying with a pure heart my ass. You can't change what you've done. I'm glad the mother felt better for it afterwards.
This was VERY disturbing. This family (the sister particularly) were smiling and laughing like they were going to a Broadway show, disgusting. Murdering people as punishment for murdering people makes NO SENSE. If somebody killed any of my children, I would want them to suffer in prison with crap food and no privileges whatsoever for the rest of their life. That would appease me no end, not this macabre kind of circus sideshow.
@Donnell Okafor Don't tell me I don't know how I would feel. The family are victims that is true but to display such a flippant glee about watching the whole thing is very distasteful. If that was my family portraying themselves like this I would be embarrassed and ashamed. That is my opinion and you have every right to yours.
@Donnell Okafor There is something wrong with you. You have missed the point I am making altogether and there's no point in flogging a dead horse. Cheers.
@@AussieBrit I have to agree with you. I thought the same listening to their banter. I certainly think that they are entitled to feel however they do but chortling with glee is just disturbing to me
The family turned the journey to the jail into a day trip to Niagara falls , mins later, they talking to the press like the killings happened only the day before
I think the mother is wallowing in all the publicity. Did she say something about a magazine not interested in the story because they wouldn't have been able to witness the execution? Both mother and daughter made up to the nineties just in case they'd be filmed watching the execution. It's an extremely solemn moment, they're not attending a cocktail party.
I agree, yes it was the worst imaginable thing to happen but she loved the camera, her in the car to her in front of the press at the election, wow such a change. Perfect makeup, must look good for the cameras. Would that be the thing on your mind?
Linda .. "solemn moment??? WTF? I would wear my make up too and do my hair. It's a part of being a woman to look your best, cameras or not. I wont even walk my dog with no m/up on. BTW ... the saying is "made up to the nines"
@@rosemarydudley9954 Now, how can I explain solemn to you. Solemn is the opposite of joyous. A funeral is solemn and a wedding is joyous. For a wedding, a party, I love getting dolled up, the war paint on, dressed to the nineties. For a funeral or in this case an execution, how I look would be of little or of no avail, would seem very shallow to put such emphasis on one's appearance. I doubt that many eyes would have been on those ladies anyway, most would be riveted on the man strapped on the table being put to death even deservedly.
@rosemarydudley I was going to say the same. The mother is from a different time, even her daughter is, it was very common for women of their ages to always be “ready” with hair and makeup. We live in a different time now. Plus, this is Texas! Southern Belles! Of course they will have their hair and makeup done before they go anywhere.
My biggest problem is that some people say that there is a special place in hell for such criminals. The truth is that, “the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives. “ That does not mean that there are no consequences for their actions but it does mean that there is no one who is outside the scope of God’s love. One thing that struck me was the amount of primping and preparation that the family members put into their makeup and get-up to attend the execution. They came across as vindictive and vicious which is a pity. Capital punishment is an emotive issue which is unlikely to be resolved any time soon.
In your opinion they were vindictive and vicious? You do remember what happened to this family? Unbelievable!😔. Your worldview is seriously skewed. You talk of God's love for a murderer and then condemn those suffering with the most disgraceful comments.
I believe the death penalty should exist but it bothers me when families seem to have a blood lust. I know I haven’t experienced that sort of loss and my god I’d be angry... But if you take away the value of his life you take away the impact of the punishment. If he’s not a human if he’s lower than an animal then what’s the point of executing them. Life has to have a value if taking it is to be the ultimate punishment. Also it’s nothing like killing a bear. When a while animal kills it’s for a reason their natural instincts have perceived a threat or a feeding opportunity or some ailment has caused them to be aggressive. They don’t have the higher reasoning skills to think if they should be doing the killing or not. While I think our propensity towards violence is in our DNA we have the ability to know right from wrong and the power to over come that desire for violence. I don’t believe the death penalty is a deterrent except maybe for those already doing life without parole. And we should stop pretending it is no one thinks they are going to get caught when they are committing a crime so if you don’t think you’ll get the death penalty why would it deter you? It is revenge but I don’t think that it has to mean it’s not just. Sometimes people do things awful enough to deserve death.
If anyone murdered my babies.....you better believe I’d be rubbing my hands together watching them die. I admit it. I’d want revenge. Call it what it is.
@@suerichards47 I have no issue with that logic. As long as the second eye is of equal value of the first. It’s not gonna bother the taker of the first eye as much if the eye you take was already blind. And you’ll feel like you’re getting ripped off. The condemned’s life has value that’s why it’s worth taking.
@@pommiebears like I said I support the death penalty. And yes it is revenge. But it’s also punishment and as long as the person is getting executed actually committed the crime it’s justice. A deterrent? I tend to think not.
That lady reminds me of Mrs Doubtfire! All I can say is WOW! The glee and smut is profoundly disturbing! I lost someone at the hands of another person. I hated the man then and I do now. I cant equate the glee and celebration with any type of justice. The mocking of the road worker for not speaking English. I am a loving and compassionate person... U are not lady! That said grief of this magnitude can turn you inside out and into someone that you wont recognise. Truly disturbing but TY TY TY for the uploads
It's obviously her way of dealing with pain. I know some people who deal with loss by just laughing and making jokes. It's the way people try to suppress the well of pain.
@@raimonwintzer No, the mother just comes off like a bloodthirsty sociopath. If you can't act any _more civilized_ than a common killer how are you _any better_ than him?
It’s different if looking through their eyes it’s justified because they took a loved ones life and to be totally honest I wish everywhere had the death penalty for the worst of people not just murderers
If I was a relative of a victim I couldn’t go to the execution. I know I’d feel a lot of hatred, and I’m sure that I’d like to lots of things to them but that’s why we have a judicial system. I was disturbed by the way the relative said the criminal wasn’t human. That’s a dangerous path to go down. If you are goi g to witness an execution accept you are seeing a human being killed. Their loss is beyond measure. I can only imagine how they feel
I’ve had a loved one murdered. It had a big effect on my life. I’m personally ok knowing they’re in prison for life. Death is the easy way out. I think if I didn’t know he was in a VERY strict prison and notably not having a great time I might feel differently. I get wanting death though. Especially if you’re a parent.
Be thankful you only have to imagine it and not live it. In my view judgement of anyone living this kind of appalling and cruel suffering is redundant.
Killing people is entertainment in America, life is cheap, the death sentence is revenge not justice. When that mother speaks it's like listening to a five year old who has no understanding of what they are talking about
As a Canadian, our country abolished capital punishment back in the 1960s. My observation of Texans is that they have a bible in one hand and a gun in the other. "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is biblical and yet the State of Texas sanctions the death penalty. A disconnect of the highest order. A state sanctioned murder.
The Bible is full of the Death Penalty and the Old Testament Law called for it too. Justice on the earth is the DP- and if they Repent and accept Jesus- Mercy will come from The Lord. Praise Jesus.
“That’ll shalt not kill” is not correct. The original Hebrew uses a different term equivalent to “murder.” There is an enormous difference between “kill“ and “murder.”
@Lana Muir Good for Canada if that's how they want to do things. There's more states besides Texas that has death penalty. If you have children just try to imagine someone just takes their life for no reason. I sometimes think I don't believe in the death penalty, but someone just take out a member of my family in cold blood, I don't think I would care about what happened to them. Maybe don't be so quick to judge our judicial system. Just worry about yours.
Why the bear dont have the right to live??? Why did you go to the jungle at the very first place ? The bear does not come charging inside your home ...why do you intrude in his life with a gun? This comparison of the murderer with a bear is absolutely illogical.
Why do they always dig up the childhood on serial killers & focus on that more than the gruesome crimes they commit? I understand that a messed up childhood can create monsters, but you dont have to become a product of circumstances. Choices matter. You had a choice but your dead victims never had a choice. 😢
Leo Jenkins thought about himself to the very end. "The State of Texas is making a mistake. They shouldn't have allowed the Kellys to be here." He never addressed the Kellys when he had a chance as much as he took from them. Real repentance would have done that. May the Kellys continue to find comfort.
I don’t know how I’d feel about watching the execution of someone who had murdered someone I love. Big Part of me would want to be their executioner myself, especially for someone who had killed two people simply because he didn’t want anyone who could witness him. I don’t think the state should descend to the level of the killer and I do find something distasteful about killing someone who is apprehended but I don’t feel anything but sympathy for the Kelley family….I think they are perfectly within their rights to feel the way they do
My god how these people have suffered the pain would never go away you can understand why the death penalty is needed for some take care you beautiful people
My only problem with the death penalty. I think it’s an easy way out. They should be locked up 24 / 7 . But if it brings peace and closer to the family. God bless them.
I can’t get the mother of the victims behavior. All smiles. I don’t think I’d understand the real situation of a parent that lost their children…..but still, smiling through the whole time, enjoying herself.
Perhaps if you lost 2 out of your 3 children to the actions of a scumbag with no moral compass who shouldn’t have been out in the first place, your thoughts would differ greatly!
But dad was very calm, and didn't seem to be enjoying the whole day of execution. Because he has lost his only son. And he probably (in his heart of hearts) didn't want to watch another boy die before his own eyes 👀
Im sorry I truly can understand where the victims family is coming from but at the same time their too happy about watching a human being put to death. No disrespect intended i feel like id want to watch the person who killed my children etc but I wldnt be making jokes laughing id think id be thinking about my loved ones and I would like to think id pray for the condemned. Anyways I hope the family got what they wanted.
