Neumann TLM103 or Austrian Audio OC18 

Man, that is a RICH sound on the 0C18.

I sold my TLM 103, it was way too bright for my voice, my AKG Perception 220 sounded better for my voice. I bought a Neumann 416, great microphone for certain genres but it's too, "In your Face" for long form narrations for voice over. Then I bought the Austrian Audio OC18 for $800 after researching all the information I could find. The OC18 is unbelievable! I have talked to sound engineers live and told them I was speaking through a U87, they were blown away when I told them it was an OC18!

Wow. Oc18 sounds so much better in my opinion. Not harsh but still sparkly and the low end is way more rich but not muddy

The top end on the TLM is freaking harsh. I had one and sold it. It was a beautiful built mic but that top was shrill. The OC18 or 818 has a better frequency response with that 7k dip IMO.

which one do you suggest between tlm 107 and oc 818 ? for smooth and natural vocals

Hi guys, do you believe that i can feed the OC18 with a UAD Apollo Twin USB?

Not a big fan of TLM103 although it is a good microphone, but this OC818 has some harmonics that I do not like. It is more natural in the higher frequencies, but not so much in this 2 to 6 khz region where those harmonics occur.

0C18. Not even a contest.

That's a lot of uncontrolled low end in the OC818. Almost makes it unusable in close proximity. The OC818 sounds nothing like natural. Damn people are deaf...
